Chapter 2485: Chapter 2486: Seeing You Off

Just as the Observer was eagerly preparing to receive the gift, the Dalmatian looked at him quizzically, then slowly turned its gaze away from the Observer and slid to a spot behind him.

The Observer was taken aback: Not looking at me? Not looking at me!

Could he have misunderstood?

With doubt in his heart, the Observer turned his head to follow the Dalmatian’s gaze.

In the distant sky, without knowing when, suddenly appeared two beams of light, one white and one black, speeding toward their location like comets.

The Observer didn’t know what the black and white light was, but he understood he might have really misunderstood...

There was no queued gifting awaiting him.

Thinking back, Wang Wang, Angel, and the Dalmatian clearly have an unusual relationship, receiving gifts is normal. He only met the Dalmatian today and hadn’t even spoken a proper word with it. Why would it gift him anything?

The Observer felt his face grow hot; surely he had lost his mind, otherwise why would he have such delusions?

Fortunately, the Observer managed his expressions well, or else Angel or Wang Wang would notice and he would truly be embarrassed. As for being seen through by the Dalmatian... they are on different levels, isn’t that normal? In front of the Dalmatian, he is the junior, a junior with a little scheming is quite normal.

Thinking this, the Observer slowly calmed his somewhat turbulent emotions and refocused on the black and white light.

At this moment, those beams of light had gotten very close, and with the Observer’s vision, he could already make out the contours hidden within.

”I’ve never seen this, and the aura is very strange.” The Observer furrowed his brow, could it be foreign invaders?

As the thought arose in the Observer’s mind, the two beams of light descended from the sky, landing nearby.

The overwhelming presence swept across the area instantly.

This kind of presence was similar to pressure; the Observer himself felt little impact, but Angel beside him instantly turned pale.

The Observer saw this and gently stomped the ground, an area of subtle distortion enveloped Angel and Wang Wang.

Within the distorted area, that presence vanished immediately. Angel looked at the Observer gratefully, and the Observer waved his hand nonchalantly, focusing again on the newcomers with a slightly cautious expression.

Though the presence brought him little pressure, for some reason, the Observer felt a growing unease deep within.

This unease was triggered by his natural inspiration.

The source of this alarm was the two tall women dressed in peculiar black and white metal skirts not far away.

They emitted a strong scent of sulfur, and as they moved, a large amount of white steam billowed from beneath their skirts.

They were indeed abnormal! Whether it was the smell or the unsettling energy aura that gave the Observer a sense of unease, both indicated that the newcomers were definitely not from this realm.

Are they smugglers? Invaders? Or perhaps interdimensional crossers?

Why did they arrive at the Southern Domain? What is their purpose?

As the Observer’s thoughts raced with questions, the black and white women gracefully floated toward them.

The Observer’s gaze was guarded, even showing faint signs of defensiveness, but if he were to look at Angel at that moment, he would find Angel’s expression serene, diametrically opposite to his own.

Even Wang Wang beside him had little reaction to the newcomers.

”Who are you?” The Observer’s voice echoed around them, imbued with a twisted power.

But the black and white women ignored him, their gaze passed over the Observer, looking at the Dalmatian and... Angel.

”I was curious why it came out, turns out it’s this.” The black woman’s voice was sharp and unpleasant.

”I was also puzzled why it suddenly left, now I understand.” The white woman’s voice was gentle and sweet.

As they spoke, they floated over.

When they were only two or three meters away, they stopped.

Up close, the Observer noticed that these two figures appeared human-like, but actually were quite different from humans. Their faces were covered with dual-colored scales, and they had no ears, one eye was pure black with white spots, the other pure white with a black center, looking exceptionally terrifying.

The black and white women paid no attention to the Observer’s scrutiny and instead, like elegant ladies, crossed their gloved hands at their waists and bowed slightly toward Angel.

”It’s an honor to see the esteemed Shava here.” The white woman’s gentle gaze rested on Angel.

Black woman: ”Likewise, it’s my honor.”

Mr. Shava? A title of respect? Who are they referring to? Is it the Dalmatian? The Observer followed the two women’s gaze and saw Angel’s calm face.

It’s Angel? The Observer’s expression turned slightly odd. When did he change his name to Shava?

Moreover, do these two unusual women seem to respect Angel? Did they come here for him?

The Observer remained silent, quietly standing aside to watch this strange scene.

Meanwhile, Angel was being bowed to by the two women, and though internally flustered, his expression was incredibly composed, with green patterns slowly drifting from his right eye.

”Are you here to take it back?” Angel slowly began, not returning the greeting or engaging in pleasantries, because when he last met them in Xinnai Land, Angel maintained a cold demeanor and didn’t talk with them much. To remain consistent with his previous persona, Angel dared not engage in unnecessary greetings.

Seeing Angel point at the Dalmatian, the black and white women... or rather, the black and white maids, slightly nodded: ”Yes, because of its departure, Xinnai Land is in chaos now.”

”Has Minister Dim sent any message?” Angel continued to inquire.

”Yes, but Mr. Nuka has handled it, saying it is just visiting Xinnai Land and will return within three days in the realm.” The white maid looked helplessly at the Dalmatian: ”So, we are here to take it home now.”

The Dalmatian was too lazy to look at the white maid, it turned and with a few quick steps, jumped into Angel’s arms.

Black maid: ”It seems reluctant to leave you, Sir.”

Angel lowered his head, pretending to ponder for a moment, then gently petted the Dalmatian’s fur: ”You should go back.”

Angel’s encouragement made the black and white maids’ eyes light up; if the Dalmatian truly didn’t want to leave, there was nothing they could do, but if Sir Shava directed it, the outcome would be different.

The Dalmatian rubbed its head against Angel’s neck, whimpering in reluctance.

Angel: ”Don’t forget our agreement, we’ll meet again. So, you should go home.”

The gentle persuasion made the Dalmatian stop its actions and reluctantly lower its head.

Seeing the Dalmatian lower its head, the black and white maids knew their goal was accomplished, and their eyes showed more gratitude when they looked at Angel.

Although the Dalmatian agreed to go back, it didn’t leap from Angel’s arms but instead turned to bark fiercely at the black and white maids.

The domineering expression was completely different from its demeanor toward Angel.

The black and white maids weren’t bothered by the Dalmatian’s attitude and nodded respectfully: ”We understand.”

Angel looked puzzled at the black and white maids, what did they understand? Wasn’t the Dalmatian’s barking meaningless?

While Angel was puzzled, the opposite black and white maids slowly separated, the black maid’s left hand glowed with black light, the white maid’s right hand with white light, and as the black and white glows reached their peak, they pushed the beams toward the center simultaneously.

At the convergence point of black and white, smoke began to churn, while the power furnaces under the black and white maids’ skirts roared.

Amid the rolling smoke, an iron-clad door built of steel and gears slowly rose.

When the door fully ascended, a booming sound was heard, and the doors swung open.

Behind the door was a red-hued sky.

And beneath the sky was a plateau that Angel was extremely familiar with.

Pamiji Plateau!

To be precise, it was the center of the Pamiji Plateau. From here, you could even vaguely see the location of the Star Pond Ruins.

When the door was opened, the black and white maids each stood on one side of the gate, bending gracefully in a bow, welcoming the return of the Dalmatian with such a ceremony.

”The door is open, you should go back now too,” Angel patted the Dalmatian.

The Dalmatian turned its head towards Angel and whimpered, full of reluctance.

Angel sighed, just about to say something when he felt a scrutinizing gaze from the side. Turning slightly, he found the Observer watching him with a strange expression.

Without a doubt, the Observer had many questions he wanted to ask. However, Angel probably couldn’t answer them.

Feeling the Observer’s gaze, Angel suddenly had a thought.

”I’ll take you to the Xinnai Land, I need to visit the Pamiji Plateau anyway,” Angel coughed twice, speaking in a slightly unnatural tone.

The Dalmatian raised its head, its eyes shining brightly.

”Let’s go, I’ll see you off for the last stretch,” Angel said, then turned to look at the Observer.

The Observer was also watching him.

Angel gave him a slight nod as a gesture of respect. Then, with a subtle motion of his hand, a letter bearing the Nightmare Illusion Breath appeared in his palm.

As soon as the envelope appeared, small white wings sprouted from it, fluttering in the air before landing in the Observer’s hand.

Angel signaled with his eyes: The answers you seek are in the envelope.

The Observer pocketed the envelope without immediately checking it, instead observing Angel as he held the Dalmatian, walking into the peculiar steel door.

After Angel and the Dalmatian left, the black and white maids did not linger and entered the gate as well. As they departed, the door vanished swiftly like a bubble illusion.

If it weren’t for the lingering pungent smell in the air, everything that had just happened would seem like a mirage.

...

After the steel door disappeared, the Observer kept watching where it had vanished, his expression thoughtful.

Those two women... their scent and energy aura, upon reflection, seemed to carry the essence of that world.

Earlier, he had been speculating about where the Dalmatian, which seemed like a Void Demon King, had emerged from. From the words of those two women, he seemed to have an answer.

If it truly was that world, its terrifying power would indeed be explained.

After all, even in the Origin World, that world is considered taboo.

However, while the source of the Dalmatian might have an answer, the doubts about Angel remained unsolved.

Previously, he speculated that Angel might be under the Dalmatian’s command, but now it seemed he was mistaken.

Angel was not only close to the Dalmatian, but those two evidently powerful women also showed respect towards Angel. This was very peculiar.

He knew Angel might have inherited some knowledge from that world, but knowledge is one thing; status and identity are another matter entirely.

Clearly, Angel’s identity was unusual in the eyes of those two women and the Dalmatian.

Lady Shava? Angel? Strange.

The Observer shook his head. Since he couldn’t figure it out, he decided to see what Angel had to say. He lowered his head and looked at the envelope in his hand.

However, just as he was about to open the envelope, a sonic boom suddenly tore through the Void.

So lively today?

The Observer frowned and looked up, seeing two robed wizards appearing in the sky.

They were members of the Extreme Sect who had been tracking the black and white maids earlier.

”Your Grace, there’s the scent of those two smugglers here, but it seems they’re gone now,” said the gray-robed man, sniffing the lingering smell in the air, to the black-robed wizard beside him.

The wizard in the black divine robe also caught the pungent scent. As his gaze roamed below, he quickly spotted the Observer standing near a Steel Fortress.

Upon seeing the Observer, his pupils narrowed slightly.

”Saladin, stop, we need to pay respects to that Lord,” he said.

”That Lord, who is it?” Saladin questioned the black-robed Bishop.

”The Observer of this world. Also, the proxy of the World Will.”

...

”Lord Observer.”

The black-robed Bishop and Saladin kneeled down, paying their respects to the Observer with the highest etiquette.

The Observer glanced at them, his expression somewhat complex.

The Extreme Sect is the only organization in this world that can reasonably know his identity as an Observer because they have been favored by the World Will.

However, from the Observer’s perspective, he didn’t particularly like the practices of the Extreme Sect.

As their name suggests, they’re too extreme.

Visitors from the Otherworld are not always smugglers, yet the Extreme Sect brands all people from the Otherworld with the mark of sin. Even those in possession of things from the Otherworld are criminals.

This clearly goes too far.

But there’s no choice; the World Will isn’t a moral tribunal, and favor is favor. Even if the Observer disapproves, he can’t say much and sometimes has to collaborate with them.

Thus, the Observer couldn’t tear his relationship with them.

The Observer nodded slightly, without saying a word.

However, the black-robed Bishop took the initiative to speak: ”Lord, did you see two women in steel skirts? They are smugglers from the Otherworld, under the observation of the World Will.”

The World Will again... the Observer mentally scoffed, but since they brought up the World Will, he couldn’t not respond: ”I saw them; they just teleported away from here.”

Gone? The black-robed Bishop frowned and asked, ”Do you know where they went?”

The Observer replied, ”Perhaps to the Eternal Night Kingdom.”

The Observer didn’t directly mention the Pamiji Plateau but said the neighboring Eternal Night Country. This wasn’t exactly misleading; judging by the aura of those women, it’s highly possible they came from the Eternal Night Country.

Whether the Extreme Sect dared to investigate the Eternal Night Country remains to be seen by looking at the current situation there.

The black-robed Bishop fell silent for a moment: ”I understand, sorry to disturb you, Lord.”

With that, the black-robed Bishop and Saladin quickly departed.

After they left, the Observer picked up the envelope again.

Upon opening it, a letter constructed with an Illusion Technique floated before his eyes.

The Observer expected some answers from Angel on it, even if fabricated. However, there was none.

The letter contained just a simple sentence:

”Lord Observer, if you have time, feel free to use the Log-in Device and take a look. By the way, sorry to trouble you with Wang Wang for the time being.”
