Chapter 2463: Chapter 2464: Stepping Into the Mysterious Key

However, when Polo Ye attempted to enter the Void using the usual method, it was to no avail.

It was as if an invisible force was blocking him, keeping him out.

Polo Ye, being a mystical creature capable of long-term survival in the Void, had a strong perception of space. It could plainly sense that the force blocking it was definitely not the Power of Space.

Instead, it was another kind of power... indescribable yet strangely familiar.

”Phew~lo~!” Polo Ye elongated its sound and looked at the Observer: ”Did you seal the path to the Void?”

Although it vaguely sensed that the isolating force was different from the Twisted Law, since this was the Observer’s territory, the closure of the Void Gate was likely related to him.

The Observer’s focus was more on Angel and the mysterious fruit in the distance. Upon hearing Polo Ye’s question, he didn’t react immediately.

When he realized what Polo Ye meant, a strange feeling flickered across the Observer’s heart.

The Plane Corridor was sealed? It shouldn’t be. The current attraction was weakened to almost nothing. With Polo Ye’s power, how could it be unable to open the Void Gate?

The Observer’s expression showed nothing, but secretly he conducted a small experiment using the Twisted Domain Field.

Within the Twisted Domain Field, creating a twisted spatial path leading to the Void was a simple task for the former Observer.

However, when he tried again this time, he found it didn’t work.

No matter how he manipulated the Twisted Law, he couldn’t connect to the external Void, as if the Void didn’t exist.

”Phew-lo? Why aren’t you speaking?” Polo Ye waved its tender tentacle, lightly shifting the air, turning into a pink bubble that floated before the Observer. Its sapphire-like eyes met the Observer’s indifferent gaze.

The Observer said nothing, a cold smile appeared, and the Twisted Force enveloped Polo Ye and bounced it aside.

Polo Ye: ”Phew-lo! I get it!”

Observer: ... Get what? I don’t even know what’s happening, what do you get?

”You’re definitely copying me, right?” Polo Ye pointed at the captured Wizard: ”You saw me capture them and immediately copied me; you also want me to test the rhythm after disorder, so you sealed the path to the Void?”

The Observer couldn’t be bothered with Polo Ye’s nonsense.

However, the Observer’s silent attitude was interpreted by Polo Ye as: ”I knew I was right, you’re feeling guilty now, isn’t that so?”

The Observer finally glanced at Polo Ye: ”I’m somewhat regretting letting you in earlier. However, your suggestion is quite good, using you to test the chaotic rhythm is a great idea. Thanks for your suggestion and contribution, I’ll consider it.”

Polo Ye: ”...”

After that interruption, Polo Ye didn’t bring up the Void again. It initially wanted to open the Void to leave as a precautionary measure; staying here wasn’t an issue. After all, as long as waiting a little while longer, the Lord of the City’s divine thought would descend, and everything would be over.

Polo Ye remained silent, while the Observer fell into contemplation.

Even though the previous conversation with Polo Ye was meaningless, essentially a distraction to let Polo Ye assume the Void Gate was closed by him, the truth was far from that; his Twisted Domain Field couldn’t even withstand the attraction, let alone thinking about closing the Void Gate.

Moreover, even if truly using the Twisted Domain Field to close the Void Gate, couldn’t Polo Ye break through it? Their powers weren’t vastly different; what Polo Ye mentioned about reaching the ”Law Transmutation Phase” was sheer imagination. He hadn’t even reached the middle of Legend, let alone the latter stage of transformation.

No matter how you looked at it, the one who closed the Void Gate wasn’t the Observer.

If not him, then it could only be Angel. The area was covered either by the Twisted Domain Field or the Green Pattern Field.

But could Angel have such capability?

The Observer might not have believed it before, but the profoundly strengthened Green Pattern Field made him hesitate.

Leaving aside other possibilities, if Angel really did it, why shut the Void Gate? It didn’t make sense.

When the Green Pattern Field was covering, it was still possible to open the Plane Corridor; otherwise, how had Sanders arrived earlier? In other words, if the Green Pattern Field was the main cause for closing the Void Gate, it must have been Angel who closed it voluntarily.

What does Angel intend to do?

The Observer didn’t know.

However, recalling how Angel expanded the Green Pattern Field earlier, leaving room for Polo Ye, he felt something odd about it.

Angel helping Polo Ye made no sense at all. They were not familiar, and because of Toby, Angel had been avoiding Polo Ye; how could he be eager to get closer?

For a moment, the Observer’s thoughts were chaotic, ever suspecting Angel of plotting something, but recalling Angel’s previous behavior made him feel it was just overthinking.

Yet, the reality was filled with inconsistencies and illogical circumstances.

The observer was getting confused.

”Forget it, let’s not think about it. If he’s up to something, it’s surely within the domain field... by continuing to observe, perhaps the answer will unfold.”

Thinking this, the Observer looked deeply at Angel. Initially, he thought Angel was no different than others, perhaps a bit talented, enough to be valued by Frost; shortly after, when Angel returned to the Mist Belt’s center for a ”dream,” his opinion changed a little, considering Angel a talented and determined person, favorable in his eyes.

But now, a slight deviation emerged in his perception of Angel. Previously, Angel was like a piece of white paper easily readable at a glance, but now, it became apparent that both this white paper and Angel’s appearance were just facades.

Angel now seemed like an enigma.

His Green Pattern Field, his allowance of Polo Ye, his initiative to seal the space... all of it peculiar, leaving questions in the Observer’s mind. Of course, the biggest question mark remained Angel himself, who still appeared absorbed in insights born from disorder. But, was he genuinely unable to extricate himself from it, or was it a performance for a deeper purpose?

Until Angel ”wakes” himself, probing and grasping the truth remains difficult. With a silent sigh, the Observer shifted his gaze away from Angel.

...

Many of the Observer’s conjectures were justified. However, the actual situation might be vastly different from his assumptions.

Because at this moment, Angel is not performing; he is genuinely completely immersed in a fantastical conscious world conjured by the Beginning of the Mysteries.

Angel is unaware of what is happening in the outside world, whether it be the changes in the green pattern domain field or the green pattern domain field actively extending to accommodate Polo Ye, none of these concerns him.

He does not care at all, nor is he concerned about the external situation. Because all his mind and spirit are in this world that is difficult to describe with words.

In his vision, the distant Mysterious Fruit has disappeared, replaced by a world composed of countless bizarre images, indescribable structures, and an absurd background of fantasies.

If such a scene were to be narrated in words, even Angel reading it would find it strange, even suspecting it to be the mad ravings of a lunatic.

But now Angel sees this world for real and discovers that any imagination falls short of depicting even one ten-thousandth.

Moreover, his perspective is extremely peculiar.

Initially, he saw only a structure, but perhaps because he discerned that the mysterious structure was multidimensional, amid constant peering, his brain experienced a sudden halt, then he vaguely heard a call, like... a dog barking. Shortly after, his thoughts sprouted like green shoots in spring, growing astoundingly quickly, bringing him to an unprecedented perspective.

The perspective of ordinary people is seeing the world they can see. Things unseen are deemed as naturally ignored, such as space nodes, elemental compositions, and also... the flow of time.

Angel’s view, however, sees both what can be seen and what cannot be seen.

For instance, the protagonist in a comic book can only see the content of the current page. What he doesn’t know is that pages actually have two sides. On the front, he sees the Knight rescuing the abducted princess from the dragon’s mouth, while the invisible backside depicts the Knight enjoying rewards after rescuing the princess, only to transform into a dragon himself.

A three-dimensional world reveals all plane content. This is the difference in visible content brought about by different dimensions.

Angel’s current perspective is akin to such a situation. After the sound of the dog, it’s as if he detached from the dimension of reality and ascended to another dimension. From this dimension overlooking the reality, all the hidden, undiscovered content is revealed.

Much of this content is idealistic, akin to concepts like ”disorder,” which are incomprehensible. Yet from this layer, those incomprehensible elements seem to adhere to an unspeakable rule.

He certainly cannot understand the existence of ”disorder” at this moment; to fully comprehend it, he might need to truly reach the level of this dimension itself, and now he merely glimpses it due to accidental karmic affinity, rendering him absolutely incapable of understanding.

But he doesn’t need to understand now; all Angel needs to do is remember those logical rules of disorder.

Remember them, allow them to form an impression in his mind, becoming a kind of tacit understanding.

Angel has a premonition, this formed tacit understanding will inevitably become the key to reaching the mystical shore.

...

While Angel was immersed in his own vision, the external situation also saw new developments.

The Mysterious Fruit, coveted by everyone, continued to change. However, the imagined 99% progress did not arrive as expected; instead, the fruit’s shell directly fell off.

As time continued to pass, a large patch of shells fell gently.

The visible portion of the fruit shifted from being 30% to approximately 50%.

Though nearly 50% of the shell had fallen off, the internal pulp still couldn’t be clearly seen, it remained the convergence of red light and mist.

However, the falling shells did make the attraction begin to grow stronger.

Even under the dual protection of the twisted domain and mutated green pattern domain field, they sensed an internal frenzy. Judging from the current situation, the attraction intensified again by at least twice.

If they were outside at this time, even exhausting their foundation, they probably wouldn’t escape the sanctions of disorder.

This is the terror of disorderly objects; even legends above them, it’s said they will die when ordered to die. This is why all Mystic Hunters conduct extensive research before containing mysterious objects, to reduce casualty rates.

Sensing the increase in attraction, whether it be Observer or Polo Ye, both were somewhat grateful at this moment.

Luckily, they still have a sheltered environment, or the outcome would be dire.

Observer feels it particularly deeply, moreover, he considers more than Polo Ye, for beyond gratitude, he holds a slight worry... he originally owes Angel due to compensatory exchange, and now Angel saved his life again.

Ordinary rescues are already difficult to repay. He must adhere to vows and make a stronger compensatory exchange, and he is now troubled, pondering how to compensate Angel...

Putting aside bothersome matters; these must wait till the end to be discussed. Observer so doesn’t bother for now.

He continues observing the Mysterious Fruit, though he doesn’t have opportunities and insights like Angel, witnessing the birth of disorderly objects is rare. Now, they still aren’t threatened by the danger of attraction, looking more might also yield benefits.

The frequency of falling fruit shells is much faster than the previous extension of cracks.

Although half of the shell had just fallen a few seconds earlier, the analysis of the attraction’s intensity hadn’t emerged before another large patch of shells fell.

This time, about ten percent more of the shell fell.

In other words, presently revealed fruit lies around 60% to 65% overall.

Though the shell dropped not significantly this time, perhaps triggering some threshold, the fruit’s attraction experienced another qualitative leap, surpassing their imaginations.

It begins attracting... no, it should be ”drawing” the surrounding energy.

Previously, it had attracted similar soul energy bodies, but those energy bodies were consciously controlled. With consciousness comes desire, desire makes escape from attraction difficult... hence attraction of souls previously still made sense.

But now is different; it doesn’t require any medium, nor needs so-called ”conscious manipulation,” directly absorbing surrounding energy.

This energy includes the floating Elemental Power nearby and the primordial magic existing in the air.

In almost a brief instant, around the fruit became an area devoid of magic. This non-magical area is more fearsome than the previous Old Earth Continent, as at least Old Earth Continent had primordial magic.

Fortunately, it seems the range of energy absorption is currently limited to several hundred meters in diameter. Besides, temporary inability to draw more stable Spatial Energy.

Nonetheless, with the shell not entirely fallen yet, no one knows what situation will arise in the future. If eventually, it even draws Spatial Energy, the consequences would be immense.
