Chapter 2472: Chapter 2473: Awooo

Glug glug.

Glug glug—

In such a tense moment, suddenly hearing two consecutive bubbling water sounds instantly attracted everyone’s attention.

Except for Gluz Deward still holding out against the Wall of Vapour, Observer and Polo Ye both turned to look.

They saw the Dalmatian from the Void Traveler, as usual, paddling its four short, chubby little legs vigorously, trying to ”float” on the ”water surface,” struggling noticeably more than before, so the sound of water was naturally louder.

”What’s with your dog?” Polo Ye looked at Angel.

Angel quickly waved his hand, ”It’s not my dog! This Void Traveler isn’t mine either!”

Angel wasn’t lying, and Polo Ye could naturally tell. But Polo Ye also understood the art of conversation; he didn’t believe these two little fellows had no connection to Angel. With the Void Traveler’s powerful ability to break through space, it was estimated that it was Angel’s fallback plan.

However, these two little fellows weren’t powerful creatures. Angel really wanted to be taken away by the Void Traveler, but it was basically impossible.

So, Polo Ye didn’t continue to focus, just casually warned: ”Whether it’s your dog or not, you’d better tell it to shut up. Shoo-ro! Don’t even think about using the Void Traveler to escape; you can’t get away.”

After the warning, Polo Ye turned back, continuing to watch Gluz Deward’s situation.

But within a few seconds, Polo Ye heard barking noises from behind, ”Wang wang wang.”

It was just water sounds before, but now it’s barking and so clear?

Was it treating his warning as nothing?

Polo Ye didn’t dislike furry animals, but he hated disobedient creatures, even if it’s a fluffy puppy!

Polo Ye suddenly turned his head, his gaze directly fixed on the Dalmatian.

At a glance, Polo Ye’s eyes paused... Because, this Dalmatian somehow managed to float up to the ”surface,” struggling to crawl out from the mouth of the Void Traveler.

As it crawls, it whimpers in a babyish voice, with its head held high, looking proudly as if it overcame countless obstacles to swim ashore.

”Shoo~ro! This guy actually got ashore?” Polo Ye exclaimed, then suddenly thought of something, shaking his head. ”No, it wasn’t drowning in the first place, and what does it getting ashore have to do with me? I told it to shut up!”

Remembering his intent, Polo Ye then raised a pinkish tentacle, swinging it towards the Dalmatian.

Polo Ye didn’t use much force, but it’s all relative. With his robust body, even a tiny effort would turn the Dalmatian into mush with such a ”whip.”

And the Dalmatian, still unaware of the impending tragedy, just looked at Polo Ye with innocent, pitiful shiny black eyes.

Just as the tragedy was about to unfold, a hand suddenly blocked Polo Ye’s tentacle.

The Dalmatian narrowly escaped.

”Shoo-ro? Observer?” Polo Ye’s gaze turned to the Observer, for it was he who intervened and stopped him.

Observer said casually, ”It’s just a puppy that doesn’t know better, no need to get angry over it.”

”Shoo—ro—you know it’s just a puppy, Observer, why get on my bad side over it?” Polo Ye retorted.

Observer released Polo Ye’s tentacle, too lazy to argue with Polo Ye. Because according to Polo Ye’s logic, arguing would never end.

”However, since Observer took the initiative to help the dog, I’ll let it go for your sake. Shoo-ro~” Polo Ye winked at Observer.

Observer naturally understood Polo Ye’s meaning: He verbally stated he’s sparing the puppy for Observer’s sake, obviously trying to gain favor by pretending to let the puppy go.

Polo Ye’s maneuver showcased his self-centered nature splendidly. He completely ignored the fact that he intended to deal with the Dalmatian first.

Observer didn’t want Polo Ye to take a favor from him just like that; he wanted to rebut a few words but looked at the puppy, then at the old Angel beside him. For some reason, the words ready on his lips were swallowed.

As he said himself, isn’t it just a dog. With a wizard who’s lived countless years, human life is a mere flicker, why would he care about a dog? Yet he intervened, blocking Polo Ye’s attack on the dog.

Why did he help the Dalmatian?

This question, Observer himself didn’t know; perhaps it was a momentary sympathy or a premonition, or... some inexplicable inner thought.

His inner thought, in essence, was a mixture of unresolved questions.

He wondered, did Angel truly come back for the belief and faith in alchemy? If he’s truly a person with such steadfast faith, he shouldn’t have left in the first place.

He wondered, where did Angel’s Green Pattern Domain Field come from? Why does his Green Pattern Domain Field ward off such strong effects of disorder, remaining effective even now?

He wondered, what is Angel’s confidence? Since Angel arrived, he hasn’t shown even a hint of fear, Observer and Polo Ye have the strength as backing, but what does Angel use? Simply because he’s under his protection, he has confidence? That doesn’t make sense either.

Most importantly, even in the late stages of the birth of the Mysterious Object, now, Angel still shows no significant fear. This is clearly not a behavior a weak Official Wizard should have.

These questions, Observer has no answers. But since Angel arrived, these mysteries have continuously piled up, although not reflected on the surface, they have sunk into the depths of his heart as inner thoughts.

And these inner thoughts usually have little impact, but when Polo Ye acted against the Dalmatian earlier, they became a trigger for impulse, prompting Observer to stop Polo Ye.

Perhaps it’s inspiration, or perhaps an inclination of the heart; since he stopped Polo Ye, there’s no need to retract it. So what if he gives Polo Ye a favor, and for such a gesture of saving an ordinary puppy, by equal principle, Polo Ye dare not demand too much in return.

Thinking of this, Observer swallowed the rebuttal, ostensibly acquiescing to Polo Ye’s unreasonable demand.

That surprised Polo Ye; he prepared for a verbal battle but saw Observer actually gave in.

It’s good to have given in! Even if it’s just a small favor, it’s still a favor.

At this moment, Polo Ye was extremely pleased, even the Dalmatian seemed cute to him.

On the other side, Angel was completely unaware that Observer did some self-reflection on a psychological level. Regarding Polo Ye wanting to hit the Dalmatian earlier... Angel was entirely unconcerned, even secretly urging: Go on, hit it! Hurry and hit!

The Dalmatian’s performance is so lively, maybe hitting it a few times would wake it up.

As for being turned to mush?

The one who could turn the Dalmatian into mush might exist, but it’s definitely not Polo Ye.

As Angel regretted Polo Ye didn’t hit the Dalmatian, the daring dog began to bark ”Wang wang wang” again.

But this time, the Dalmatian was barking at Observer.

Observer thought the Dalmatian barking at him meant ”everything has spirit” and was expressing gratitude for helping. But when he activated Beast Language Mastery, he found—

”Strange, why can’t Beast Language Mastery understand its barking?”

Angel quietly remarked beside him: See, even the Legendary Wizard’s Beast Language Mastery can’t understand your dog’s barking, you’re just barking aimlessly, aren’t you!!

Observer pondered, thinking perhaps the Dalmatian was too young. Beast Language Mastery was just a comprehensive portrayal of sound frequency, emotion, and spiritual expression; maybe the little puppy wasn’t well-versed, hence it had little effect applied to it.

Anyway, the puppy barking at him should be in gratitude. That or why would it bark at him and not others?

The Observer self-confidently assumed.

To express himself, the Observer even stretched out his hand, intending to pat the little puppy’s head.

But before he could touch it, the little puppy agilely leaped into the air, avoiding the Observer’s hand, and did a 360-degree spin in the air, landing smoothly... in Angel’s arms.

After landing in Angel’s arms, it even snuggled comfortably against Angel’s hand.

Observer: ”...” Was he being disliked?

Polo Ye squinted at Angel: ”You...”

Angel awkwardly smiled: ”I’m really not familiar with it; it’s really not my dog, believe me.”

As Angel spoke, the Dalmatian’s head popped out from Angel’s embrace, its innocent eyes scanning around. Suddenly, it fixed its gaze on the distant Mysterious Fruit.

More accurately, it fixed its gaze on the Spirit of Disorder, which had already lost its limbs and was about to lose its head.

The Dalmatian squinted its eyes and softly barked: ”Wang Wang—” It seemed the time was almost up. If this continued, it would truly form, and that wouldn’t be good...

No one understood what the Dalmatian meant, but under everyone’s gaze, the Dalmatian stretched its body and leaped from Angel’s arms.

Despite not being wrapped in any energy, it stood steadily in midair.

At this moment, the crowd had no particular thoughts, just a slight astonishment in their hearts: they didn’t expect to be mistaken, that this dog was actually not ordinary, and could even remain suspended in mid-air?

But in the next second, everyone’s emotions peaked, their eyes wide open.

Because the Dalmatian ran.

The Dalmatian ran.

Ran...

Yes, under the gaze of all, it walked out of the twisted domain, out of the green texture domain, leisurely strolling in mid-air, with its target being the distant Mysterious Fruit.

Actually, if it just ran out, that would be one thing.

The most important part is that its moist black eyes remained clean and clear, without a hint of impurity, and certainly no crimson hue.

This meant it was not affected by the attraction.

Everyone was shocked by this scene, even Gluz Deward looked at the little puppy’s stroll in amazement.

At this moment, no one spoke, all attention fixed on the little puppy; they could not believe that the attraction that could affect half of the Wizards’ Realm was actually ineffective against a dog? What kind of logic was this?

The gaze of the crowd had no impact on the Dalmatian; it continued to slowly make its way toward the Mysterious Fruit.

Instead, it seemed like the absorption speed of the Spirit of Disorder by the Mysterious Fruit increased, though it might have just been everyone’s illusion. How could the Mysterious Fruit be influenced by external factors and accelerate on its own? Besides, it was just a mere dog.

Those who entertained such thoughts couldn’t help but have another question: at this point, is that dog truly just a ”mere” dog?

What dog can walk in the air, what dog can be fearless of the mysterious?

What exactly is this dog?

Perhaps only Angel knows the answer. Although Angel strongly denied any relation with the Dalmatian, seeing how the dog willingly leaped into his arms, it’s hard to believe they are not connected somehow.

However, even though they wanted to question Angel, it was not the right time; they were more curious about what the dog intended to do now.

Since it wasn’t affected by the attractive force, what was its purpose in heading toward the Mysterious Fruit?

Soon enough, they got their answer.

The Dalmatian leisurely reached the Mysterious Fruit, inspected it left and right... Then, it opened its big mouth and swallowed the Mysterious Fruit, including the half-formed Spirit of Disorder, like slurping noodles.

Everyone clearly witnessed the Dalmatian’s throat move, genuinely swallowing the Mysterious Fruit down its belly.

At that moment, if everyone could show their true expressions, probably each would be gaping with their eyes wide open.

This scene was too astonishing.

The Mysterious Fruit, which everyone longed for and feared at the same time, vanished just like that.

Disappeared so simply, vanished so casually.

The feeling was akin to a treasured gem they yearned for now being a fallen, rotting fruit casually gnawed away by a passing dog.

This strong sense of anticlimax made their emotions inexplicably complicated.

And at this moment, before anyone had gathered their thoughts, the Dalmatian that swallowed the Mysterious Fruit turned its head toward them.

Then, the Dalmatian raised its head and howled at the sky, looking exceedingly proud.

If this were in ordinary times, they would think it merely sounded cute and not intimidating at all.

But now, everyone was silent, with wary eyes directed at the Dalmatian. To swallow a nearly formed Mysterious Object, such a creature they had never encountered before, who could not be cautious?

Yet, within this wariness, some had eyes burning with passion for the Dalmatian.

It was precisely Gluz Deward.

As an aficionado in collecting wondrous creatures, he was immensely fervent whenever he saw any rare and magical being. Moreover, this was a being capable of swallowing Mysterious Fruits.

Gluz Deward was excited, although he also perceived the reality: for now, he probably couldn’t get that Dalmatian.

But it was no matter... that dog had a connection with Angel.

And he had already taken a liking to Angel.

As long as he abducted Angel, there would be an opportunity to get that dog.

However, perhaps not this time. With that dog around, it seems they might not be able to abduct Angel today. But it didn’t matter; knowing Angel’s identity, he would find a way to take him away eventually.

Gluz Deward had already considered future possibilities, but he hadn’t noticed the plump Void Traveler glaring at him with resentment.

And that Dalmatian, after eating the Mysterious Fruit, slowly walked toward them.

Gluz Deward, wanting to make a good impression on the dog in advance, flashed a smile.

Yet, the Dalmatian ignored him. As it approached the crowd,

it slowly opened its mouth...
