Chapter 2477: Chapter 2478: The Essence of Space

Transformation between reality and illusion? The deep resonance of breath?

No, none of these caught Angel’s attention. At this moment, his entire mind was occupied by the spatial information that had emanated forth.

When that golden blood transformed from illusion to reality, a massive amount of spatial information, nearly piled up, gushed out instantly.

They had no destructive power, but the spatial information they presented was unprecedentedly profound.

Profound yet not complex, it was more like having its restless shell peeled away, revealing only the most basic and essential spatial structure.

Such a massive, profound, and comprehensive set of spatial data was laid bare before Angel.

And it was incredibly close to Angel.

Angel almost instantly cast aside any other distractions — golden blood, surging breath, illusory reality — none were as wondrous as these fundamental spatial data.

Angel was utterly immersed in these pieces of information.

And this spatial information, which should have flickered and faded, seemed to sense Angel’s gaze and leaped back from the time where it should have vanished.

Everything in front of him was like a master scholar of space holding an unguarded seminar. The most fundamental spatial data were presented in a way that broke restrictions.

This process lasted a full two minutes.

Two minutes may seem short, but in reality, many essential things often arise in a single thought. If essence is likened to a hurdle, crossing it actually only requires a single step, and this step only takes an instant, but the time required for accumulation can span years, decades.

During these two minutes, the notion of breaking shackles could cycle thousands or even tens of thousands of times.

Take the most obvious gain—

Angel had been researching the mirror space of the Mirror Grudge for some time, but without significant breakthroughs. Yet now, within these two minutes, the information he acquired was enough for him to deduce the mirror space.

Deducing any ability requires profoundly deep knowledge. Especially for something like mirror space, you not only need to be proficient in Illusion Techniques but also require a foundation in space; Angel’s previous foundation in space was too weak, and he had made no progress. However, this time, it was as if he received a ”spatial information gift pack” from a lottery, and his mind was filled with a large amount of the most fundamental and essential spatial data, giving his foundation a tremendous boost.

Although it will still take some time to fully digest them into his own, at least the towering mountain is now imprinted in his heart. Would it be difficult to outline it with a brush?

When Angel finally awakened from his reverie, he was stunned for quite some time.

Reflecting, yet puzzled.

His puzzlement lay in two points: firstly, such fundamental spatial information, presented at such close range and for such a long duration — was this a boon from the Dalmatian? It must be, right?

Because under normal circumstances, a reality-illusion transformation wouldn’t leak such a terrifying quantity of spatial data, let alone have these spatial data remain for a solid two minutes, enough time for Angel, a space novice, to absorb.

Thus, Angel believed it was indeed the Dalmatian offering him a boon. Just like the first time he was swallowed by the Dalmatian, he comprehended the mysterious materialization.

Secondly, what puzzled Angel was that he seemed to be digesting these fundamental spatial information more easily than he expected. Why was that?

It’s known that among the three great frameworks, cross-disciplinary practice on the Mysterious Side is the most challenging. And within the Mysterious Side, the difficulty of practicing Space Series is notably high.

Other wizards practice spatial abilities using shortcuts, like practicing Shapeshifting Techniques by implanting the skin of a Transforming Soft-bodied Insect, they all take similar shortcuts, or use tools and casting materials to successfully perform.

To truly study spatial abilities, the difficulty is immense. But Angel is different. When researching mirror space, he noticed that the speed of his research on spatial abilities wasn’t actually slow.

Back then, he thought it was because The Gate of Void laid the foundation for him to have such speed.

But now, after digesting the fundamental spatial information and gaining a certain foundation in spatial knowledge, he noticed that his speed of studying spatial abilities was indeed abnormal.

Though it hasn’t reached the speed of Talented Ones in space studies, it seems the gap isn’t that far.

Could it be that, aside from Illusion Techniques, he also has a talent for space?

It shouldn’t be possible, right? The talent test didn’t show any spatial talent.

Angel couldn’t figure it out, so he attributed it to the talent of his Nightmare Soul Body. As he traveled the path of practice, he utilized Nightmare Illusion Abilities more and more frequently, and his right hand, right forearm, and right eye had also fused with Shava... Perhaps these reasons contributed to his spatial comprehension ability.

Anyway, this was a good thing for him.

Combining illusion with space, just thinking about it reveals how powerful the effect can be.

The flow of thoughts was incredibly fast, and despite thinking so much, he only pondered for two or three seconds. After the contemplation, he set aside his various perplexities and queries.

It wasn’t that he didn’t intend to delve deeply into those questions, but rather that there was another urgent matter in reality.

The golden blood had completely transformed into reality!

While Angel was immersed in spatial information, he hadn’t paid much attention to it. But from the current situation, the golden blood was indeed the focal point.

It was highly likely to be the blood of the Thief of Time!

The transcendent blood of a suspected miracle existence.

Even though Angel currently didn’t know its purpose, he was very certain it was incredibly precious.

Since this drop of golden blood had transformed into reality right before him, and was now floating not far in front of him, it seemed this too was a boon from the Dalmatian.

Truly my good little dog. Angel internally praised as he stepped forward, ready to accept the belated favor.

As he walked forward, Angel pondered what container to use to hold the drop of blood.

Grela Narrow-necked Bottle? This is the designated bottle for holding bloodlines, and most bloodlines choose this type of bottle.

Bennett Spout Bottle? This is the designated bottle for holding some special bloodlines, such as demon bloodlines, which are almost always stored in this type of bottle.

Or perhaps a Chain-type Potion Bottle? This type of potion bottle has stronger anti-explosion capabilities compared to the Bennett Spout Bottle, and can maintain the authenticity of its energy, preserving its potency over the long term.

Various bottle shapes flashed through Angel’s mind, but ultimately, he chose the Chain-type Potion Bottle.

This bottle was the highest-grade bottle he carried; if it couldn’t contain it, then he would have to... give up? Impossible, he would craft a higher-end bottle on the spot.

Before Angel even got close to the golden blood, he felt the terrifying and surging energy it emanated.

Unquestionably, it’s indeed the Thief of Time; even a single drop of blood is this powerful.

After giving it a compliment, Angel added another: However, now it’s mine!

Delightedly taking out the Chain-type Potion Bottle, Angel gently inhaled toward the golden blood.

No response.

A second attempt yielded the same lack of response.

”Is this potion bottle broken?” Angel wondered as he sensed the potion bottle, but there was no issue.

Or could it be that this drop of golden blood couldn’t be contained using a potion bottle?

After some thought, Angel attempted using the Bennett Spout Bottle, but again, no response.

”Strange, has it already solidified and is no longer liquid?” Angel wondered, conjuring a Hand of Magic, deciding to touch the golden blood with it.

But just as the Hand of Magic was about to touch the golden blood, Angel paused.

The Hand of Magic was blocked by a soft layer of something.

This soft sensation was like jelly, somewhat cold to the touch. Most importantly, when the Hand of Magic touched it, the soft jelly moved slightly, with a little resistance, trying to push the Hand of Magic away.

”Hmm... this familiar sensation.”

Angel squinted his eyes and activated the energy vision—

In the vision of energy, it was not just a drop of golden blood in front of him, but also a fat and large sludgy blob.

It was the mutated Void Traveler, Wang Wang.

The reason he couldn’t collect the golden blood with a potion bottle or tapered flask earlier was because that drop of golden blood had already fallen into Wang Wang’s belly.

Because Wang Wang’s main body is actually transparent, and Angel hadn’t activated the energy vision earlier, it looked as if the golden blood was floating in the air, but in fact, it had already been swallowed...

...

After a few minutes, Angel sat cross-legged on a patch of glowing velvet grass in the void.

”When did you arrive?” Angel asked Wang Wang curiously.

Wang Wang looked at Angel but did not speak, instead using its sludgy body to shape a hand, pointing to the golden blood in its belly, then gesturing towards Angel.

”Are you saying it’s in your belly, and you can’t speak because of it?”

Wang Wang nodded.

Angel: ”Then why don’t you spit it out?”

Wang Wang shook its head vigorously and gestured something complicated, but Angel couldn’t understand.

If it were human sign language, he might be able to guess, but Wang Wang is not familiar with human civilization. Its makeshift sign language was hard to interpret.

Angel could only stare at Wang Wang, cluelessly.

”Forget it, stop gesturing. I’ll ask, you answer. Just nod or shake your head, nod for yes, shake for no.”

This time, Wang Wang understood and nodded.

”When you arrived here, was I here already?”

”Do you know whose golden blood this is?”

”Is it useful to you?”

”Was this drop of golden blood given to you by the Dalmatian?”

Angel asked one question after another, gathering that Wang Wang appeared when the golden blood transitioned from void to solid. This drop of blood might or might not be useful to it and was not something the Dalmatian intended for it.

In other words, this drop of blood was likely still a benefit meant for Angel by the Dalmatian.

As for why Wang Wang swallowed it, Angel’s various indirect questions failed to uncover the correct answer.

The more he asked, the more confused Angel became.

”If you don’t digest the golden blood, can’t you speak?” Angel asked again.

This time, it was the Dalmatian who shook its head.

Angel’s eyes lit up: ”Then when can you speak?”

This question didn’t require a yes or no answer, but the Dalmatian thought seriously and created an hourglass with its body in front of Angel.

The top of the hourglass was liquid, dripping down one drop at a time.

Angel immediately understood; the Dalmatian was using this method to tell him when it could speak.

”About ten hours?” Angel calculated and thought that time wasn’t too long, so he decided to wait. It was also a good opportunity to digest the previous spatial information.

So, Angel and Wang Wang sat on the glowing velvet grass, waiting for the hourglass time to run out.

After ten hours, Angel finally looked up at Wang Wang.

What he saw left him stunned.

Because Wang Wang had become... Gold Wang Wang.

Literally ’gold’ Wang Wang.

Earlier, Wang Wang was completely transparent, invisible to the naked eye, but now, Wang Wang was coated with a layer of gold, looking like a solid gold slug statue.

This golden color came from the golden blood itself.

The tremendous and overwhelming aura was exactly the same.

”Did you digest the Thief of Time’s blood?” Angel asked, astonished.

Wang Wang: ”No, I just hid it back in the sky.”

The sky? Angel looked at Wang Wang puzzled.

After a prolonged discussion and explanation, Angel understood that what Wang Wang referred to as the sky was actually a non-dimensional space, similar to the high-dimensional passage where it had taken him for void traversal once before.

And within Wang Wang, there exists such a space outside of this dimension. — Angel was surprised to learn about this hidden secret within Wang Wang, but after thinking about it, he was somewhat relieved. The Spirit Sea, Land of the Soul, and Mind Space within humans are similar, though more conceptual, whereas Wang Wang’s is more concrete.

”I name the space within me ’the sky’.

It hid the golden blood in the sky, so now it can speak. Otherwise, the vast energy of the golden blood would hinder any mental expression.

”Is this ’sky’ unique to you or is it common to all Void Travelers?” Angel asked curiously.

”All my kin have their own sky, but theirs are not the same as mine. However, how they differ, I can’t explain.” Wang Wang looked troubled.

Angel roughly understood. Wang Wang is a special existence among Void Travelers. Its dimensional traversals are high-dimensional walks, evident of its uniqueness. So it’s normal for its ’sky’ to be special too.

”All my abilities come from within the sky.”

Because of this, when the golden blood enters the ’sky’, it can simply utilize its power. For example, releasing the terrifying aura of the golden blood to scare off ignorant beings, although the side effect is turning into ’Gold Wang Wang’.

Having roughly understood Wang Wang’s and the golden blood’s situation, Angel then asked, ”Tell me, after being swallowed by the Dalmatian, what did you experience? Also, when did you arrive, and why did you swallow this drop of golden blood?”
