Chapter 2108: Chapter 2109: Sumishe’s Plea for Help

After Sanders cleaned up the Transcendent remnants left from the research, Angel took out the Magic Pattern Engraving Pen, preparing to inscribe some magic runes in the laboratory.

The reason he came to the lower laboratory was exactly for this.

Regina would soon be conducting research on mushrooms in this lab. To prevent any unexpected situations, Angel decided to engrave some restriction and defense-type magic runes as countermeasures.

Because he already had the patterns in mind, Angel engraved them quickly. In less than half an hour, the magic runes were almost complete.

Once everything was done, Angel looked up and noticed that Sanders had not left. He was sitting on one side of the lab, resting one hand on his cheek while the other tapped lightly on the table with his fingertips, his eyes slightly squinted as if pondering something.

Perhaps it was Angel’s unabashed gaze that was caught by Sanders’ Spiritual Sense, as he slowly opened his eyes and looked at Angel.

”Mentor,” Angel said softly.

Sanders glanced at the magic runes on the floor and workbench: ”Your speed in engraving magic runes is getting faster and faster.”

Angel chuckled, accepting the compliment.

”I may temporarily leave the Barbarian Cave for a few days. I’ve already informed Tree Spirit. If the hospital encounters patients infected with the active line again, they can come to find you.”

Sanders’ words took Angel by surprise, but he quickly reacted and nodded: ”Okay.”

Although Angel intended to spend these days fully deciphering the broken magic runes on the Knight’s armor, since it’s a task given by his Mentor, Angel naturally wouldn’t refuse. Besides, now that the active line patients are under control, there shouldn’t be any issues in the short term. Even if an emergency did occur, it would at most involve one or two people; it shouldn’t significantly impact Angel’s efficiency in deciphering runes.

Angel didn’t ask where Sanders was going, considering it a private matter.

However, despite Angel not asking, Sanders took the initiative to reveal his destination.

”You should still remember the Illusion Technique message that was transmitted to Illusion Demon Island not long ago?” Sanders said.

Angel nodded, recalling that the message was sent by Sumishe. At the time, he was curious about the message’s content, wondering if Sumishe had encountered difficulties and was seeking Sanders’ help.

However, before he could uncover the message’s content, he found himself in Duling Garden.

Sanders bringing up the Illusion Technique message at this moment was clearly related to his departure from the Barbarian Cave. Angel curiously asked, ”Was that Illusion Technique message really a call for help?”

”Sort of,” Sanders rubbed his temples and sighed helplessly.

From what Angel knew, under Sanders’ tutelage, Sumishe and Flora were both highly independent individuals who rarely sought help. Moreover, Sanders wasn’t one to coddle, so asking for help wouldn’t work.

But now Sanders admitted it was a cry for help, and he was indeed planning to go aid them?

Under Angel’s curious gaze, Sanders didn’t hide it and calmly explained Sumishe’s situation.

The issue stemmed from the blood fusion event.

This was an event Flora was investigating when Angel first entered the Barbarian Cave, a massive human mortality case caused by blood diseases. Flora eventually confirmed the blood fusion event was triggered by a ”blood fusion virus.” Although the incident was resolved, the virus’s origin remained unknown.

Flora had a premonition that the blood fusion virus could be very useful to her, possibly even guiding her to her future path. Hence, she dove into researching the virus.

Later, Flora somehow obtained information related to the blood fusion virus and invited Sumishe to investigate with her. The results of the investigation are still unknown, but they encountered a formidable enemy: a group of fanatical Red Plague followers.

The Red Plague, a great Demon God in the Abyss, was born to spread plague and bloodshed.

Unlike other Demon Gods who maintain relative order, the Red Plague represents absolute chaos and deep-seated evil. Believers of the Red Plague are all madmen.

Among the Red Plague followers Flora and Sumishe encountered was a powerful God’s Chosen, whose strength rivaled a seasoned True Knowledge Wizard. Sumishe had just entered True Knowledge, and Flora hadn’t even decided on the path to True Knowledge. How could they possibly handle such enemies?

However, they were indeed persistent; even after several dangerous encounters, they never thought of asking Sanders for help.

After enduring extreme hardships, they managed to escape the search of the Red Plague followers.

However, during the escape, Sumishe used the already severely damaged Nightmare Realm multiple times to mislead the God’s Chosen among them, leading to the Nightmare Realm being on the verge of collapse. If it completely collapsed, Sumishe might not recover for centuries.

The Nightmare Realm’s collapse speed is fast. Though Sumishe has managed to maintain a certain degree of harmony, even a slight external energy conflict could exacerbate the collapse.

As a result, Sumishe couldn’t use the Teleportation Array and was trapped far overseas from Flourish Continent.

In such a crisis, Sumishe then sent the Illusion Technique message seeking Sanders’ assistance.

If Sumishe had sought Sanders’ help during the pursuit, Sanders might not have responded at all. But now that it was a crisis due to the Nightmare Realm’s collapse, Sanders was willing to go aid him.

It might sound contradictory, but this reflects Sanders’ philosophy in education.

Of course, this educational philosophy only applies to Sumishe and Flora.

”I’m telling you about Sumishe’s situation because to save Sumishe, I’ll likely need to use the principal body of the Wilderness of Dreams’ Nightmare Realm, and I’ll need your help then,” Sanders said, looking at Angel.

Angel nodded. Before this incident, Sumishe’s Nightmare Realm was already damaged. At that time, Sanders had suggested that the Wilderness of Dreams would be needed to help. Angel agreed then, and naturally wouldn’t oppose it now.

Moreover, regarding the Tri-State Equilibrium plan to save Jon, Sumishe’s cooperation is needed. So Angel certainly wouldn’t stand by and do nothing.

”As long as you agree,” Sanders said. He had stayed here waiting for Angel to finish the magic rune engraving just to bring up this matter. Now, having received a positive response, he could finally relax a bit.

Sumishe is, after all, a True Knowledge Level combat power. If this battle led to centuries of decline, it would be as if the entire person was ruined.

As a Mentor, Sanders still hoped to see Sumishe survive and go further on the path of pursuing truth.

For this reason, even though the Barbarian Cave was also tied up with various urgent matters these days, Sanders had to make time for a trip.

”Although I will temporarily leave here, I will continue building the high magic area in the Wilderness of Dreams. If you need anything from me, you can find me in the Wilderness of Dreams,” Sanders paused, ”I will bring a Servant. If I’m not around, you can relay your message to the Servant.”

Angel could actually track Sanders by marking him, to confirm when he enters the Wilderness of Dreams; Sanders knew about this ability, but what he mentioned was more about emergency situations, so there’s no conflict.

Just as Angel was about to nod, he suddenly thought of something.

”Actually, it doesn’t need to be so cumbersome, Mentor doesn’t need to deliberately bring a Servant to pass messages, wasting manpower. We can communicate via messages left in the Tree Spirit Group.”
