Chapter 2055: Chapter 2056: The Black and White Maids

As someone with an extreme lack of culinary research, who could concoct magic bread with a taste of smelly socks, this was probably the food Angel had put the most effort into preparing in his life.

Davasia exclaimed in disbelief, ”Is this for Davasia?”

Angel nodded lightly and said, ”Yes, for the lovely Davasia.”

Angel deliberately added the prefix ”lovely,” which made Davasia’s eyes, squeezed into slits by his fat, instantly sparkle with bright light.

”Yes, I am the loveliest Davasia!”

Regaining his confidence, Davasia took a sharp breath toward the plate.

The magic marrow meat, dipped in the tears of a little floating demon, was inhaled into Davasia’s mouth in one go. He chewed for a moment and then swallowed it down.

”Eh?” Davasia suddenly uttered after eating.

Angel looked at Davasia, feeling slightly nervous.

”Though there’s not much taste in the dessert, it has a strong power of origin; it feels like my stomach wall is gently massaged by a pair of soft hands, so comfortable!” Davasia was overjoyed, ”Wonderful! Lovely Davasia can eat a thousand more plates!”

Seeing Davasia’s face full of joy, Angel finally breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that the dish he carefully prepared wasn’t disliked.

Was this hurdle over?

While Davasia was shouting excitedly, Angel’s gaze slowly moved to the long table of the banquet.

On the long table, there were a total of eight places. Three positions on each side, each with a set of tableware, and two opposite main and deputy seats at the front and back, each also with a set of tableware.

This indicated that, apart from himself, there were a total of seven guests. Misty Goldlady and Davasia each occupied one position, leaving five who had not yet arrived.

Angel didn’t know how the revered positions of the so-called ”Moonlight Favored” were arranged, but Davasia sat in the second position on the left, and Misty Goldlady was in the third position on the right.

From the previous conversation, it can be seen that Davasia should be stronger and of higher status than Misty Goldlady in terms of both strength and position, so is it arranged in descending order of identity and status from top to bottom?

If this is true, it means that the seats next to him later must have higher identity and status than Davasia and Misty Goldlady?

Of course, the seat directly opposite him is actually considered the main seat, so by normal assumption, the seat opposite might be of the highest identity and status in this banquet, apart from him.

Could it be the legendary minister who descends?

The more Angel thought about it, the more uneasy he felt. Facing so many powerful unknown beings, could his role-playing still continue smoothly?

Despite Angel’s inner unease, he was already in a state of readiness and had to hold on no matter what.

Just hope the upcoming guests are as easy to deal with as Davasia.

While Angel was thinking about this, a bright light suddenly flashed outside the dark door in the distance.

When the halo dissipated, a sharp laugh and a low laugh seemingly from deep within the nasal cavity simultaneously entered the hall.

All the guests at the banquet turned their eyes to the outside of the door. Angel did the same, but he appeared casual, glancing at the distance before slowly retracting his gaze.

Although he only glanced once, Angel still managed to capture the appearance of the newcomers in his eyes.

The new guests did not come alone but arrived together.

At first glance, they seemed like women wearing dresses based on their silhouette, but upon closer inspection, they were not humans nor beast species familiar to Angel.

Both stood about two meters tall, looking quite alike in appearance, though one was entirely black and the other entirely white; from curly long hair to scales on the face, even their enormous iron hoop skirts, and the smoke emerging from under their skirts, were distinctly black and white.

At first glance, they somewhat resembled the demon witch Nitotipu among the seven seats of the Void Tower.

”Your Excellency Shava, they are the most beloved black and white maids of Master Nuka, currently the overseers of the Xinnai Land.” Angel was pondering the identity of the newcomers when the mad voice reported their identity first.

From the words of the mad voice, Angel—that is, Shava—like Davasia, is not familiar with the black and white maids.

This was good news, at least reducing the worry of being too familiar and having his identity exposed.

The black and white maids, upon entering the banquet, did not cause a commotion like Davasia and quietly took their places. However, their so-called seating did not actually sit down. Due to the enormous iron hoop skirts they wore, it was hard to sit down normally, so they stood directly at their respective positions.

The black maid stood in the second position on the right, and the white maid stood in the third position on the left. Their postures were elegant, with hands folded in front of their abdomen, embodying the dignified model of noble women; of course, that is if one disregards their appearance.

After standing in their positions, they immediately started talking.

”I didn’t expect to have the opportunity to sit in a banquet with the esteemed Lady Shava; it’s enough for me to brag in the rat hole for a thousand years,” the white maid expressed joy, looking at Angel with gentle, affectionate eyes, as if facing a lover with deep emotion.

However, the white maid’s face was covered with pure white scales and had no ears, appearing exceedingly terrifying. Angel, though not afraid of their appearance, still felt a bit unsettled.

While Angel was pondering how to respond to the white maid, the black maid made a sharp, piercing sound: ”Before, you said, when I accompanied you to this filthy world, you would boast for a hundred years in the rat hole! You said a hundred years was already the limit; why is it a thousand years now!”

After speaking, the black maid looked at Angel with more than initial reverence, adding a measure of wariness, as if fearing he might take away her most cherished treasure.

The white maid let out a low laugh, ”Don’t care so much about time; to us, time is just a meaningless number.”

Black Maid: ”But you deceived me.”

”It’s not really deception, considering there’s no rat hole for me to boast in, right?” The white maid smiled at the black maid, ”Don’t mind these details; quarreling in front of Lady Shava will disappoint Master Nuka.”

The black maid’s expression changed slightly but ultimately said nothing more.

Although the black and white maids’ conversation was brief and trivial, Angel still discerned some underlying details beneath the surface.

If going by Angel’s previous seating judgment, the black maid should be stronger and of higher status than the white maid. However, among the two, the dominant one is actually the white maid.

It was evident that the black and white maids were not as easy to deal with as Davasia. They seemed to show respect for him superficially, but Angel clearly sensed that the one they genuinely revered was the ”Master Nuka” they mentioned.

It was apparent from the white maid’s final words to the black maid.
