Chapter 2085: Chapter 2086: War Machine

The red beam appeared without any warning, but as soon as it appeared, it carried a violent energy surge, shooting straight towards the light wall on the dome.

Fortunately, the light wall was strong enough to withstand the impact. Although the red beam touched the top of the dome, it didn’t break through the light wall, instead it rebounded back.

In an instant, the red beam was bouncing around under the dome.

Seeing the red beam rampaging, many small and medium-sized experimental tools quickly grew hands and feet, desperately dodging to avoid being hit by the red beam.

These experimental tools managed to avoid the beam, but large ones like workbenches weren’t so lucky. Even if they weren’t directly hit, being just grazed by the energy wave caused obvious cracks.

This shows how powerful the red beam is.

In the midst of the chaos, Angel remained calm and unmoved—not because he was indifferent to the red beam’s threat, but because he had calculated that the red beam couldn’t reach his position in the short time. Moreover, in Angel’s view, since this was the Steampunk Gentleman’s territory, he wouldn’t allow the red beam to destroy at will, so there was no need to worry too much.

Angel was right, the Steampunk Gentleman indeed couldn’t let the laboratory be destroyed. What Angel didn’t expect, however, was that the one who eventually calmed the red beam was not the Steampunk Gentleman, but the Dalmatian.

After several bounces, the red beam suddenly shot towards the direction of the Precious Birdcage. The Dalmatian happened to be near the Precious Birdcage, and as the red beam approached, it opened its mouth and swallowed the red beam whole.

The terrifyingly powerful beam, once inside the Dalmatian’s stomach, extinguished instantly like a spark that fell into the water.

Not only did it have no effect on the Dalmatian, but the Dalmatian even opened its mouth, licked around its mouth with its tongue, and let out a loud burp.

...

After the little episode with the red beam ended, Angel once again focused his gaze on Miix Valen.

Miix Valen had now descended from the workbench and stood beside the Steampunk Gentleman.

From the appearance, Miix Valen seemed to have no changes at all. The only transformation was in the eye section of his mask, where the lens of the red telescope flickered with a dim, uncertain glow.

Although there was little change in appearance, Miix Valen’s aura had changed significantly.

When Angel saw Miix Valen before, his aura wasn’t obvious; it had a coldness unique to mechanized creations.

But now, Miix Valen’s aura was filled with menace, just looking at him gave a chilling feeling deep in the heart.

This change was like transmuting from a technical mechanical puppet into a killing war machine.

”Very well, except for initially losing control of the power and releasing a chaotic beam, everything else went as I expected!” The Steampunk Gentleman stroked Miix Valen up and down, his excitement evident in his words.

”By improving the Origin of Chaos proportion, it indeed allows your newly born Spirit Intelligence to more fully adapt to the influence of Nightmare Light on you. However, the actual power requires further testing.”

”How should we test it?” The Steampunk Gentleman stroked his chin, pondering for a moment: ”The chaotic beam just now probably released the Origin of Chaos of the Power Furnace to near the alert line, the best way to quickly replenish the Origin of Chaos is continued slaughter...”

”Let’s use the Night Fiend as a test subject...” The Steampunk Gentleman hesitated a bit when he mentioned this, feeling a bit distressed since crafting a Night Fiend wasn’t easy. In ordinary circumstances, he would definitely let Miix Valen recover the Origin of Chaos of the Power Furnace slowly, but since it’s to demonstrate the Power Furnace’s capability to Shava, they couldn’t wait.

The Steampunk Gentleman turned to Angel: ”Lady Shava, what do you think?”

Angel: ”Is it a Night Fiend from the Black Dream Tunnel?”

The Steampunk Gentleman: ”The Night Fiend from the Black Dream Tunnel is too evenly powerful to serve as a comparative test subject; I mean the Black Dream Space.”

Angel was still considering that if they went to the Black Dream Tunnel, he could use The Gate of Void anytime to leave. But the Steampunk Gentleman mentioned the Black Dream Space... What sort of place is that?

Angel pondered for a moment and nodded, ”Alright.”

Since he had previously shown interest in the Power Furnace, if he regretted it halfway, his character setup might collapse. Moreover, Angel was indeed curious about the changes the Power Furnace brought to Miix Valen, so he agreed.

Angel thought the Steampunk Gentleman would first take him away from here to that Black Dream Space, but to his surprise, the Steampunk Gentleman merely let out a string of bizarre laughter, then his body turned into a mass of Dark Mist.

The Dark Mist instantly enveloped Angel, and when he came back to his senses, he was no longer underneath the dome.

It was a dark world resembling the Void.

Angel hovered high in this dark world, seeing clearly below a giant glowing arena.

The arena area was bright, while other areas were covered in Dark Mist.

Miix Valen now stood on one side of the glowing arena, the red telescope staring straight ahead, seeming to wait for his opponent.

While Angel was looking at Miix Valen, the voice of the Steampunk Gentleman sounded by his ear:

”Welcome, esteemed Lady Shava, to the Black Dream Space.”

Angel turned around to see a ”person” dressed exactly like the Steampunk Gentleman standing beside him.

I say ”dressed exactly alike” because this Steampunk Gentleman wasn’t invisible.

Even though he wasn’t invisible, his appearance was still indiscernible. Currently, he resembled a mummy, with most of his face wrapped in white bandages.

Only a black, pupil-less eye was exposed, along with a portion of the chin visibly scorched by flames.

Although Angel was puzzled by this ”mummy version of the Steampunk Gentleman” beside him, he didn’t ask; instead, he casually replied, ”Is this the Black Dream Space?”

The Steampunk Gentleman nodded: ”Yes, this is the Black Dream Space, the world of Night Fiends I created.”

The Steampunk Gentleman didn’t explain what the world of Night Fiends was but showed it directly.

He pointed downward, and a Ghostly Shadow appeared on the glowing arena. Initially, it was just a vague outline, but as a large amount of black mist flowed into the Ghostly Shadow, it gradually turned into a solid form.

Finally, a giant one-eyed troll appeared opposite Miix Valen.

The one-eyed troll, as soon as it appeared, roared angrily at the sky, the terrifying shockwaves continuously dispersing outward.

Even Angel in mid-air could feel a hint of a threat.
