Chapter 2059: Chapter 2060: Seed of Distortion

After the Boiling Gentleman finished speaking, he muttered in a low voice, ”Since it has already come to the dinner party, there’s no need to look for that tentacle monster. Maybe I should notify someone... or forget it, that guy is very annoying...”

As the Boiling Gentleman was talking to himself, he suddenly seemed to realize something: ”Ah, oh my, because of this little guy, I almost forgot the main business!”

The Boiling Gentleman turned to Angel and respectfully said, ”Lord Shava, please forgive my oversight.”

Angel did not understand what the Boiling Gentleman meant, but to maintain Shava’s persona, he did not pursue the question. Instead, he casually placed his gaze on the Boiling Gentleman, indicating him to continue speaking. If the Boiling Gentleman didn’t continue, he would reveal a detached, indifferent smile, as if he heard nothing.

Boiling Gentleman: ”Previously, I did not notice that the person beside Your Excellency was a Faithless Watcher, resulting in me missing the opportunity to admire Your Excellency. To earn your forgiveness, I have now placed even more precious little pets outside the Maze Candle Corridor, ensuring I won’t miss another chance to admire Your Excellency.”

Angel: ”...” Is this really something that requires forgiveness?

Angel understood the meaning within the Boiling Gentleman’s words, but he could not comprehend the logic behind them.

Just because he didn’t get to ”admire” himself, he blames the Watcher, who is Sanders, beside him, and thus decides to enhance the power of those magical creatures in the external passages?

According to normal logic, since the Faithless Watcher Sanders remains by Shava’s side, it indicates that Shava trusts Sanders. If the Boiling Gentleman were to deal with Sanders, wouldn’t he face more hostility from Shava?

Various criticisms rose in Angel’s mind, but none of it showed outwardly.

He was thinking in a normal human’s logical way, so he found the Boiling Gentleman’s words filled with contradictions and incongruities.

But after all, the Boiling Gentleman was not a normal person; Angel didn’t even know what kind of creature he really was.

And, living in the environment of the Nightmare Realm, Boiling Gentleman’s way of reasoning might be the only right one in his mind?

Angel was filled with criticisms toward this strange logic, but he didn’t want to say more. Besides, even though the Boiling Gentleman’s thinking was abnormal, he showed great respect toward the identity of ”Shava,” much more than other guests present. Angel could feel a greater enthusiasm from him.

Therefore, there was no need to argue about values with the Boiling Gentleman and risk pushing a ”fan” to the other extreme.

Thinking of this, Angel nonchalantly said, ”This is not an important matter, much discussion is useless.”

The Boiling Gentleman nodded deeply in agreement: ”Lord Shava is right, this indeed is not important. Though humans appeared outside the Maze Candle Corridor today and blocked my chance to admire the Lord, they weren’t particularly strong. It’s a pity that this is not my homeland and I don’t have the proper tools; if I could restore my full strength, it wouldn’t be difficult to slay him.”

The human mentioned by the Boiling Gentleman this time was clearly not Sanders, but Rhein.

The Boiling Gentleman claimed that he could kill Rhein if he restored his full strength?

So his strength is... legendary?

Angel found it a bit unlikely because the legendary realm signifies a qualitative leap. Even if due to world differences, it wouldn’t be hard to crush Rhein.

However, Angel believed the Boiling Gentleman had no reason to lie to him. What he said should have some basis, perhaps the Boiling Gentlemans’ mention of restoring full strength wasn’t about physical strength, but the ”appropriate tools” he referenced earlier.

The white maid once said, the power furnace inside her is the work of the Boiling Gentleman. Although Angel did not know why there would be a power furnace inside the white maid, it’s not hard to deduce from her words that the Boiling Gentleman might have an occupation like an Alchemist.

His strength could really be granted by external objects.

If his speculation was true, Angel was quite interested in engaging in-depth exchanges with the Boiling Gentleman to understand what the alchemy system of the Nightmare Realm looks like?

Unfortunately, now he was Shava, needing to hold his identity, every action and word required consideration beforehand.

Angel: ”Speaking of which, your pets are quite interesting.”

The Boiling Gentleman: ”Lord Shava, do you refer to the Seed of Distortion?”

Angel was referring to those spherical magical creatures in the passage that wouldn’t disappear. Their shape was a twisted thing wrapped with countless tentacles, and it probably was what the Boiling Gentleman called the Seed of Distortion. After all, Angel could basically recognize all the other magical creatures in that passage. Only the identity of the spherical magic was unknown.

Angel nodded, implicitly acknowledging, ”Yes, they’re quite interesting little guys.”

The Boiling Gentleman’s eyes lit up: ”As expected, Lord Shava and I think alike, they’re such adorable and amusing little beings! Just looking at their shape, you can tell how perfect they are!”

”Not only can they enhance power out of nowhere, but they can also learn and evolve according to different hosts, ensuring they could interfere thoroughly with the host’s mind at the fastest speed. There’s just no pet more industrious than this!”

The Boiling Gentleman talked enthusiastically, clearly thrilled that his creation was appreciated by Angel.

While chatting, he also revealed various traits of the Seed of Distortion. The more he spoke, the more startled Angel felt.

The Seed of Distortion could amplify the power of magical creatures, something Angel had witnessed earlier. After being possessed by a spherical magic creature, Yifeige could even withstand Rhein’s Silent Kill, which was evident.

This nearly multiple-fold amplification had already amazed Angel. More terrifyingly, the Seed of Distortion could manipulate the host’s mind to learn and evolve, greatly enhancing the power it unleashes.

Most importantly, it could also be controlled artificially.

Earlier, they joked that Dumatin would probably be very interested in spherical magic creatures because he worked with Substitute Puppets daily.

At that time, it was just a joke, but now after hearing the introduction of the Seed of Distortion, Angel could be certain that Dumatin would indeed be interested in the Seed of Distortion, possibly even to the point of madness!

Because if the Seed of Distortion were truly mastered by wizards, it would certainly be a more advanced puppet medium than the Parachute Fungus Insect bloodline!

The Substitute Puppet using the Parachute Fungus Insect bloodline had its mind deprived, thus many abilities were sealed. Even Substitute Puppets made by Official Wizards couldn’t use Wizard Level spell techniques and could only serve as pre-set suicide bombs; but if a Substitute Puppet was made using the Seed of Distortion, not only would this suicide bomb be numerous times more potent, it could also autonomously learn stronger abilities, influence the host’s mind, and use the host’s proud spell techniques to fight, which wouldn’t be a problem.

This would allow Substitute Puppets to have more possibilities! It might even extend into a new discipline!

It could be said that this is definitely a high-level replacement for the Parachute Fungus Insect bloodline.

Of course, it’s not without faults. Those who integrate with the Parachute Fungus Insect bloodline, if not brainwashed into Substitute Puppets, still have independent thinking and freedom, like Baruba.

However, people parasitized by the Seed of Distortion, though they may believe to have independent thinking, this autonomy is actually influenced by the Seed of Distortion, making them increasingly extreme and homicidal, eventually turning into a killing tool of the Seed of Distortion.

Angel’s mind quickly listed the pros and cons of the Seed of Distortion. Despite its significant flaws, its advantages made up for everything.

The Boiling Gentleman continued to speak about the Seed of Distortion: ”Such a perfect and obedient little pet, yet there are extremely few nuisances who constantly cast cold eyes upon it. Respected Lord Shava, don’t you agree they are quite bothersome?”
