Chapter 2058: Chapter 2059: An Unexpected Reunion

”Wang Wang—”

The spotted puppy, with its short and chubby limbs, clung to Angel, panting with a milky breath, excitedly sticking out its tongue to lick Angel’s face.

It wasn’t until Angel picked it up and placed it on the table, scratching its chin, that it stopped its dog-like behavior, letting out a satisfied moan.

”Why are you here too?” Angel asked with a chuckle while teasing the Dalmatian.

The Dalmatian didn’t answer, seemingly unable to understand Angel’s words, only wagging its tail like a small fan to express the joy of reuniting with Angel.

Of course, Angel didn’t believe it couldn’t understand human language. The first time Angel saw it, it pretended to be a clueless ordinary puppy. It was only after Angel delved deeper that he confirmed this guy definitely understood human language. Because if it was something good for it, it would understand immediately; but if it wasn’t in its favor, it would feign ignorance.

Yes, Angel had seen this Dalmatian before; it was the same Dalmatian from Sleepless City.

Back when Angel and the others got trapped in Sleepless City, they managed to leave the city under the dome thanks to the Dalmatian.

Later, the mysterious art of Mysterious Concrete Object that Angel created was actually inspired by the Dalmatian swallowing him.

Though the Dalmatian looked just like an ordinary puppy, it could very likely be a Mysterious Spirit, or a living... Mysterious Object.

”It seems you don’t want to answer.” Angel squinted his eyes, pinching its slightly cool and soft ear lobes, ”The reason you don’t want to talk is that you sneaked out behind Minister Dim’s back again this time, didn’t you?”

The Dalmatian had been rubbing Angel’s palm with excitement, but when it heard Angel’s words, it momentarily paused, then continued rubbing as if nothing happened, even obediently licking Angel’s palm, pretending not to understand anything.

Unfortunately, even though its pause didn’t last a second, Angel still caught it.

Judging by its unusual pause, Angel thought he might have guessed correctly.

”Oh dear, oh dear, it managed to escape.” Suddenly, a slightly sharp voice came from the dark corridor.

With the appearance of the voice, the soft fur on the Dalmatian’s body suddenly stood on end. It turned its head and barked towards the direction of the dark corridor.

Unfortunately, its barking sounded like puppy sounds, the deliberate ”I’m fierce” had no threat.

Angel casually stroked the Dalmatian’s fur, but his gaze was quietly fixed on the corridor in the distance.

As footsteps approached, the previously dark corridor suddenly lit up again. Lamps on the walls rekindled with bright flames.

The suddenly bright corridor exposed the figure of the newcomer.

It was a figure around one and a half meters tall, dressed in an old gray-blue suit, wearing a round felt hat, plain leather shoes, and holding a cane with a ghostly green flame.

If you ignored the face, just from the attire, it looked like a down-and-out gentleman. But looking at the face... unfortunately, he didn’t have a face.

Although clothed, his body was that of an invisible creature. All visible skin was transparent and invisible.

Previously, just by seeing his shoes, Angel guessed he should be the one who confronted and fought Rhein. Now, seeing his attire, it confirmed the suspicion.

The faceless gentleman walked step by step into the banquet; though his expression was invisible, some details of his clothing folds revealed his movements were very elegant.

He slowly approached Angel, ultimately taking a seat at Angel’s right hand position, which was clearly reserved for him amidst Angel’s ”seemingly unmindful but highly vigilant” demeanor.

The faceless gentleman first bowed deeply to Angel, then nodded to the other guests, especially the black and white maids, before taking his seat.

After sitting, the faceless gentleman first looked at the still ”fiercely cute” Dalmatian, saying with a smile, ”Oh dear, oh dear, don’t be so fierce with me? I helped when you were born.”

The faceless gentleman’s words triggered no reaction from other guests, but Angel’s heart was stirred.

The faceless gentleman meant... the Dalmatian’s birth was artificially intervened?

Angel found the Dalmatian the most mysterious creature he’d ever encountered. After experiencing the world inside the Dalmatian’s stomach, he felt many disordered Mysterious Objects might not compare to the Dalmatian.

If such a Dalmatian was human-made, that would be horrifying. Angel, in the Dalmatian’s stomach, saw countless civilizational rises and falls, nearly endless but varied Mysterious Powers, laying the foundation for Angel’s creation of the Mysterious Concrete Object.

If anyone could create a Dalmatian, even if they just intensified an intervention, they would need to know these boundless mysterious knowledges. In Angel’s view, achieving this puts them very close to the truth.

The Dalmatian’s owner is Minister Dim, could it be that Minister Dim is its creator?

While Angel was lost in thought, the Dalmatian continued barking at the faceless gentleman, as if his plea had no effect on it.

The faceless gentleman sighed, ”Since you found a protector, I’ll have to let you go for now.”

The faceless gentleman paused, looking up at Angel. ”As expected from Your Excellency Shava, your guess was correct.”

Angel didn’t know how to respond, just gazingly looking at the faceless gentleman.

”I just got a message from the Tentacle Monster that this little fellow indeed sneaked out behind Minister Dim’s back, as Your Excellency Shava had speculated. The reason for the Tentacle Monster’s delayed arrival to the banquet was searching for it, but unexpectedly, it had already made its way here.”

Perhaps because the faceless gentleman said he wouldn’t catch it, the Dalmatian stopped putting up a fierce facade and lay on the table, comfortably enjoying Angel’s strokes.

The faceless gentleman watched this scene, and though he said nothing, he was quite surprised inside.

Except for Minister Dim, this Dalmatian was usually very fierce to others, and now exhibited a harmless demeanor, which was unexpected.

No wonder it’s the one most favored by the moonlight and closest to the King.

”Last time, it came with Yorkshire; why has it snuck out again this time?” Angel asked curiously.

The faceless gentleman shook his head, ”Who knows, this guy has never been obedient.”
