Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 2094: Chapter 2095: Informing

Although the Tree Spirit was very curious about the secrets hidden in the mysterious room, since it couldn’t be unlocked now, the Tree Spirit had to curb its curiosity and turn its attention to other matters—

For example, the church exuding the aura of the deceased that Angel had now brought out, which attracted the Tree Spirit’s attention.

It was a palm-sized church, entirely cast from bones and adorned with gilt patterns, making it appear very luxurious and beautiful.

”To carve the bones of the deceased into such a form, from an artistic perspective, its quality and value are absolutely not low,” the Tree Spirit remarked.

Angel said, ”Now’s not the time to discuss art. What I mean is for you to take a look inside the church.”

Both Sanders and the Tree Spirit followed what Angel said, transforming their spiritual power into fine threads, which they sent into the Dead’s Church.

”The corridor on the left, there’s a sleepy undead there, not worth mentioning. What I want you to see is the room directly facing the stained glass window, up the stairs on the right.”

When the Tree Spirit and Sanders entered the room Angel referred to, they saw a soul curled up at rest.

This was a very bizarre-looking soul.

Overall, it appeared human, but atop its head was a gigantic green mushroom, making it look as if it were wearing a green hat.

According to common sense, the appearance of a soul after death should still resemble its life. If this soul were human, why would it sprout such a large green mushroom?

The green mushroom was so striking, both the Tree Spirit and Sanders were forced to take several more glances before they could shift their attention to other parts.

When they saw the appearance of this soul, they were suddenly stunned.

The Tree Spirit and Sanders exchanged glances, seeing the surprise in each other’s eyes. The Tree Spirit looked at Angel, ”He is... Reeves?”

Angel nodded in affirmation, Reeves was indeed the first person to fall into the ruins.

Upon receiving a positive confirmation, the Tree Spirit was silent for a moment, let out a deep sigh, and a trace of sadness passed through its eyes.

Although they all had a premonition that the Wizards who went missing in the ruins had little chance of survival, as long as no bodies were seen, they still held on to a glimmer of hope. Now seeing Reeves’s undead meant that sole flame of hope had also been extinguished.

Even if Reeves was not from the Barbarian Cave, there were still those from the Barbarian Cave who fell into the ruins, making it hard not to grieve for their kind.

”Besides Reeves, have you seen anyone else?” The Tree Spirit’s tone was somewhat light, seeming cautious. They all understood that what the Tree Spirit wanted to ask was about the people from the Barbarian Cave who had fallen.

Angel shook his head regretfully, ”I only encountered Reeves, I haven’t seen anyone else.”

”Ifige is dead, Reeves is also dead, I guess they are all dead...” The expression in the Tree Spirit’s eyes dimmed.

”I met Reeves in the Duling Garden, at that time he actually wasn’t dead yet, but his state was almost as if he were dead.” Angel: ”He was parasitized by a kind of mushroom called Mistrance, almost his entire being turned into a mushroom, and Mistrance can even affect the soul, which is why there are mushrooms growing from his soul now...”

Angel briefly went over the process of encountering Reeves.

”After two days of recuperation, Reeves has already been able to awaken a part of his consciousness. The specific details, you can ask Reeves directly later on, regarding the situation of the original ruins, he actually knows more than I do.”

After listening to Angel’s recount, Sanders and the Tree Spirit both fell silent, although Angel merely glossed over it, whether it was the situation at that time or the terror of Mistrance, they could feel it through the snippets of information.

In the stillness of the air, Angel looked at Sanders, speaking softly: ”Mentor, about the previous communication...”

Angel didn’t finish his sentence, but Sanders understood what he meant.

Sanders: ”In urgent situations, exceptional measures were taken. Because you had fallen into the ruins, to avoid greater loss, I spoke about the situation of the communication... However, the truth is still hidden in the mist.”

”The truth? Are you talking about the matter of you two passing messages through dreams?” The Tree Spirit also came back to its senses at this moment, its curious gaze shifting between the two.

Through Sanders’s reply and the Tree Spirit’s question, Angel roughly understood the current situation.

It seems the people from the Star Pond Ruins know part of the situation: they can transmit messages through dreams.

However, how to operate it in detail hasn’t been figured out yet, it seems.

Angel looked at Sanders, ”Do I need to share it now?”

Sanders indifferently said, ”It’s up to you to decide, after all, we agreed beforehand.”

Because they had already discussed it before, and the Wilderness of Dreams is a half-plane created by Angel, even though Sanders is Angel’s mentor, he doesn’t intend to break the rule of keeping the Wilderness of Dreams a secret. Previously, Wallace kept probing for information, but Sanders remained tight-lipped because of this.

Tree Spirit: ”What on earth are you talking about? What’s the truth in all this?”

The Tree Spirit paused, then added, ”Of course, if you don’t want to say, you don’t have to. After all, it’s a secret between you and your mentor.”

Angel pondered for a moment and decided to reveal the matter of the Wilderness of Dreams after all.

Originally, he planned to tell the core higher-ups of the Barbarian Cave about the Wilderness of Dreams soon, since he had discussed with Sanders before about setting up a branch of the Tea Party in the Wilderness of Dreams.

Now, since Rhein, Tree Spirit, Wallace, Ironclad Granny... many high-ranking people had already guessed their communication was related to dreams, rather than letting all speculate in the dark, it was better to take this opportunity and openly talk about the Wilderness of Dreams.

Thinking of this, Angel’s gaze met Sanders, signaling his intention with his eyes.

Sanders nodded, supporting Angel’s decision. His expression seemed calm, but within his eyes lingered a faint ripple of emotion.

——Having lived for hundreds of years, experiencing various joys and sorrows, Sanders’s emotions hadn’t seen significant fluctuations for a long time, but at this moment, there was an unusual stir.

After all, once Angel truly revealed the Wilderness of Dreams, its meaning would be distinctly different from previous small-scale antics.

This heralded the dawn of a new era.

The thought of ushering in a new era, being a promoter of this new era, made even Sanders somewhat excited.

Although Sanders quickly suppressed the emotional fluctuation, having known Sanders for many years, the Tree Spirit still caught something amiss.

He looked at the master and student pair with a strange gaze, sensing something mysterious between them.

”What exactly do you want to say?” The Tree Spirit asked suspiciously.

Angel didn’t answer but instead took out a small pouch from his bracelet, which contained five pairs of spectacles with a faint glow...
