Chapter 2027: Chapter 2028: Intelligence-Dampening Aura

”The standard for measuring good and bad is not just about coverage density and effect, but also about remedying flaws.” Angel’s gaze casually swept over the glowing mist surrounding Misty, seeming indifferent, but he had other thoughts in mind.

If Misty and Phantom Performance were truly as he suspected, he must notify Lord Rhein to prepare, and he also needed to gain a more comprehensive understanding of Misty.

So, when he spoke those words, it seemed as if he was evaluating from a higher ground, but in reality, he said it as if nothing, simply using Blair’s idolization of ”Shava” or the so-called dumbfounding halo, to subtly guide Blair into revealing information about Misty.

If Blair could be led to voluntarily disclose Misty’s flaws, then if Misty did indeed erupt, they could devise targeted offensive strategies.

Perhaps Shava’s halo was indeed dazzling, as Blair did not suspect Angel at all and, following Angel’s pre-set verbal trap, proactively mentioned Misty’s flaws.

”Lord Shava is right, remedying flaws is extremely important. I will certainly manage Misty’s mycelium thoroughly, so as not to let Lord Nuka’s masterpiece leak out!” Because of Angel’s hints and affirmation during the conversation, Blair’s emotions became exceptionally excited.

After deciphering the implications of Blair’s emotions, Angel began to ponder internally.

The meaning behind Blair’s words was clear, with two core points: First, the creator of Misty was the unknown Lord Nuka; second, the greatest drawback of the pervasive Viridian Mist was Misty itself.

Apart from anything else, why would Blair say the biggest flaw of the Viridian Mist was Misty itself?

In Angel’s puzzlement, he suddenly noticed three verdant mushrooms that had been hiding underground earlier; he did not know when they appeared near the giant Misty, and as soon as they emerged from the ground, they began to unabashedly absorb the surrounding Viridian Mist.

Within a short time, a large portion of the Viridian Mist had disappeared.

Seeing this scene, Angel seemed to understand something. Blair’s meaning was probably that because Misty could release it, naturally it could also absorb it. So the biggest weakness of the Viridian Mist was, in fact, Misty itself.

But if we ponder this carefully, it’s not truly a weakness. Because Misty can’t be found in the outside world, if the Viridian Mist truly wrought havoc in the outside world, Lord Rhein would have to venture into the ruins to find traces of Misty to alleviate the disaster.

Even if Misty were obtained, Misty still possesses faint intelligence, and it would not be easy for Rhein to control Misty.

Hence, when looking at it comprehensively, this flaw can’t easily constitute a weakness.

In this way, Angel’s previous reminder to Blair to remedy Misty’s flaws seemed somewhat abrupt.

Angel thought he could subtly guide Blair, but in reality, he was a bit overconfident. Before understanding Misty’s traits, making too many remarks instead made him seem foolish.

Using peripheral vision, Angel secretly glanced at Blair; Blair remained fervently watching Angel, emotions radiating excitement.

—Fortunately, Blair was under the halo naturally brought by ”Shava,” and did not suspect him.

If it had been a wise and deeply scheming Nightmare Realm creature like the fox musician, it might have already noticed something amiss.

After this, Angel also needed to remind himself that when encountering Nightmare Realm creatures, in order to maintain the disguise of ”Shava,” he should avoid discussing topics he held no certainty on too deeply.

”It’s good that you understand, safeguarding the mycelium is your responsibility.” Angel initially wanted to probe some more information, but after previous considerations, he now decided not to say more and prepared to leave.

”I’m going to see Misty Goldlady; after all, I’m also curious about her intention in inviting me.” After saying this, Angel maintained a calm expression, nodded towards Blair, and then turned to leave.

While leaving, Angel glanced at the three little verdant mushrooms.

They were still devouring the Viridian Mist, indulging in their feast.

Upon realizing these three little fellows might be Misty, Angel quietly formed some ideas. Since the flaw of the Viridian Mist is Misty itself, they become essential.

If he could take them away, he might not need to worry about the Viridian Mist anymore.

However, would they be willing to continue following him now? If not, Angel planned to continue wandering the mushroom forest, looking to find other Misty.

Perhaps the three little Misty sensed Angel’s gaze. While they were feasting joyously and saw Angel leaving, they immediately gathered together and burrowed into the soil. After a while, they resurfaced right at Angel’s feet.

Confirming that they would temporarily continue following him, Angel felt slightly assured, turned around, and walked toward the castle where Blair indicated Misty Goldlady resided.

However, he hadn’t walked for more than half a minute when he heard a buzzing sound overhead.

Looking up, he saw Blair fluttering his wings, flying across the sky. When Blair saw Angel notice him, he hesitated a moment before descending from the sky, standing respectfully beside Angel.

”Is there something else?” Angel looked coldly at Blair.

”Lord Shava, I suddenly remembered that the human controlled by Misty last time is right ahead of your path. To prevent him from disturbing you, I thought I should go ahead and clear him out.” Blair explained without reservation.

Upon hearing Blair’s words, Angel was intrigued, for he had initially wanted to inquire about that human used for experimenting with Misty. Because the ruins are enclosed, the human appearing here could either be from those initial Wizard Families exploring the ruins or someone missing from the Barbarian Cave or Song of the Deep Sea.

But previously, out of fear of exposing himself, he hadn’t asked; now, however, a good opportunity had arisen.

Angel: ”There’s no need. That human, I will handle him, and I also wish to witness the effect of the Misty you’ve cultivated.”

Blair’s eyes lit up, thinking to himself, does this mean Lord Shava wants to inspect his results?

”Return to your duties; you don’t need to worry about anything else.” With a wave of his hand, Angel feigned nonchalance and continued forward.

While walking, Angel remained constantly aware of Blair’s situation. If Blair was truly insisting on clearing that human, he wouldn’t have a good excuse to stop him.

Fortunately, Blair seemed to have listened to Angel’s words, only staying dazed in place for a long while, seemingly deep in excited contemplation.

After a long moment, Blair suddenly waved at Angel’s departing figure before turning back.

Noticing Blair’s withdrawal, Angel slightly relaxed. Simultaneously, he felt a growing curiosity for the journey ahead. Who might the human under Misty’s control be? Could Misty’s true function be glimpsed through this encounter?
