Chapter 2020: Chapter 2021: The Mutated Wall

Being in the eerie ruins, even though he was only nearby, Angel’s vigilance had never relaxed. However, even so, he never expected to be attacked by an unknown creature hidden in the water patterns when leaving.

However, the situation was better than he imagined.

The great force coming from the front, though fierce, was met with Angel’s extremely fast reaction speed. Almost as he felt the wind carried by the force, his body instinctively responded.

Stepping back, with a slight sidestep, Angel leaned against the wall, dodging the oncoming force.

However, though he avoided this wave, Angel believed that the unknown creature would surely attack again. So he immediately employed a Defense Spell while quickly constructing the Second-Level Trick ”Dispel Illusion” in his Mind Space because he hadn’t yet seen what the creature attacking him looked like even after dodging.

If he was to prepare properly, the first step needed to be confirming the opponent’s location. There were many tricks to see through the opponent’s form, such as Pig Nose Technique, True Sight, Echo Location, etc. However, either Angel had not learned these, or their level was too high, consuming too much time to construct them. So, after considering various choices, ”Dispel Illusion” was the trick Angel could construct the fastest, and indeed it had the ability to penetrate illusions.

As Angel tensed all his senses, trying to find the unknown magical creature hiding near the water patterns, a pair of nearly transparent hands suddenly extended slowly from the wall behind him where he was leaning.

At that moment, Angel was quickly constructing the Dispel Illusion while keeping his eyes fixed on the area near the water patterns, completely unaware of the peculiar occurrences at the wall he was leaning against.

However, Sanders on the other side noticed. He immediately pointed his finger, sending a mysterious light toward the wall behind Angel. Simultaneously, he shouted: ”Move away!”

Yet, everything was one step too late. Angel only saw Sanders shouting and casting a Nightmare Illusion towards his direction. Before he understood Sanders’ intention, he felt the wall behind him become exceptionally soft, like water waves, and the support from the wall he leaned on vanished instantly.

Only then did Angel realize there might be a problem behind him. He quickly adjusted his balance, trying to move away from the wall’s reach. But before he could act, a pair of transparent hands reached out from behind him, embracing him.

With an extremely gentle motion, they softly pulled him backwards.

Angel’s entire body sank into the wall as if immersing into water, disappearing instantly.

After Angel disappeared, it was only then that the mysterious light cast by Sanders touched the wall. Yet the powerful mysterious light did not cause any harm to the wall, only producing a puff of green smoke dispersing.

Sanders quickly came near the wall, and his right hand transformed into a golden praying mantis’ scythe arm at a speed invisible to the naked eye, part of the Phantom Mantis he had grafted to his right hand. Sanders activated his bloodline, swinging the scythe arm to strike at the wall fiercely.

The immense strength finally damaged the wall.

A hole appeared in the wall, but behind the hole, there was nothing, just more stone and earth wall.

However, a terrifying energy began to leak out from the breach.

It was energy from the Void!

Although the wall was not completely shattered, the flash of void energy meant that behind the wall was surely a violent void. The substantial energy existing in the void interacting with the channel’s energy, was about to produce a horrifying energy vortex.

At this moment, a flicker appeared behind the water patterns.

An Ironclad Granny with silver hair suddenly appeared beside Sanders, without a word, took out something like soft mud, and sealed up the breach in the wall.

As the breach was sealed, the turbulent surrounding energy slowly calmed down...

From Angel being attacked forcibly, having to evade, then being pulled by hands behind the wall, to Sanders breaking the wall and Ironclad Granny flashing in, the entire process took only two or three seconds.

Everything happened in the blink of an eye.

”If void energy enters, the ruins will become even more intricate.” Ironclad Granny paused, using words that she didn’t even believe, she comforted: ”Angel will be fine.”

Evidently, Ironclad Granny was watching outside the Star Pond and saw the scene happening in the channel.

After angrily breaking the wall, Sanders also quickly calmed down.

”Yes, Angel will be fine. No creature in the Nightmare Realm would harm him, nor would they dare,” Sanders murmured softly. Ironclad Granny might take these words as mere psychological comfort, but Sanders genuinely thought so.

Sanders did not explain anything to Ironclad Granny, but turned and looked near the water patterns.

Like Angel, Sanders had been perceiving the surrounding environment throughout their time in the ruins to avoid danger. However, he did not expect that Angel would still end up getting attacked in the end.

Angel did not see who attacked him, but Sanders did notice it.

Because while Angel only utilized his perception to capture surrounding danger, Sanders maintained his spiritual power vision at all times.

In the vision of spiritual power, he clearly saw that at the moment Angel was about to move towards the water patterns, a limp, snot-monster-like creature, without warning, emerged from the void, blocking Angel’s path.

What Angel bumped into was precisely this snot monster that could only be seen with spiritual power.

This snot monster, familiar to Sanders, was a creature that lived in the void. Due to its frightening speed and its love for wandering everywhere in the void, it was called the Void Traveler.

After being bumped, the Void Traveler reacted by attacking Angel.

The immense force Angel sensed came from its action.

In essence, Angel being swallowed by the wall was all instigated by the Void Traveler, inexplicably appearing in front of the water patterns!

Upon sensing its existence, Sanders immediately used spiritual power to restrain it.

At this moment, the Void Traveler was being tied by a spiritual power-constructed rope, struggling in front of the water patterns, unable to move, imbued with a pitiful aura.

Sanders walked up to the Void Traveler, gazing at the completely transparent little creature, with a glint of coldness in his eyes.

Reaching out his big hand, he released the spiritual bind on the Void Traveler, directly crossing the Material Realm to catch the Void Traveler securely in his hand.

The Void Traveler kept shifting its shape, trying to escape Sanders’ grasp, but to no avail. It was like a cat being seized by the scruff of its neck, having lost all strength to resist, all struggles were futile.

”Is this the Void Traveler?” Ironclad Granny saw what Sanders held in his hand.

Sanders nodded: ”It is the source of the calamity.”

The moment Sanders finished his words, his hand clenched tightly, and the Void Traveler in his palm instantly exploded...
