Chapter 2026: Chapter 2027: Bewildering Glow

The questions Angel asked were mostly about the Duling Garden. He actually tried to inquire about other things in the ruins, but after the bee Blair was brought here from the Nightmare Realm by the Misty Goldlady, it basically just cultivated mushrooms, and it didn’t know much about other things, speaking vaguely.

Once the questioning was nearly over, Angel showed an intention to leave.

Blair sighed, emitting a sense of sadness. It was hard to finally meet His Excellency standing on the cloud, and yet they had to say goodbye after just a few glances, which made it feel very melancholic.

Lowering its head dejectedly, Blair held the hoe and tilled the soil. After a while, it looked up suddenly in surprise.

Huh? Why hasn’t Lady Shava left yet, and is instead watching it hoeing the ground?

Could it be observing whether its work is diligent or not?

Blair didn’t understand what Lady Shava was thinking, but feeling Lady Shava’s gaze on it, it suddenly felt energized! Being able to perform well in front of Lady Shava, it naturally wouldn’t give up.

Blair was already earnest in cultivating the Misty Mushrooms, but now it worked with even more vigor, wanting to show its best side.

Angel watched Blair suddenly working hard and was initially puzzled, then he understood—it was the pressure of hierarchy and the aura of an idol. But this was not bad; he didn’t leave immediately because he wanted to see what kind of work Blair was actually doing and what Misty Mushrooms were.

Because of the restraint of playing the role of ”Shava,” Angel found it inappropriate to directly ask what Misty Mushrooms were, so he decided to observe with his eyes.

Since he was already here, although his main goal was to leave, it would naturally be best to gather more information while achieving this goal.

Of course, everything was under the premise of ensuring personal safety.

Blair did not disappoint Angel. It even used its rarely employed trump card while cultivating the Misty Mushrooms.

When it placed the Misty Mushroom mycelium into the pit, it sprinkled the tears of the Pink Princess, causing the Misty Mushroom mycelium to rapidly swell under the nourishment.

In just an instant, the Misty Mushrooms broke through the soil.

What surprised Angel was that the Misty Mushrooms looked exactly like small green-spotted mushrooms.

Angel couldn’t help but look at the three mushrooms following him, identical in appearance to the Misty Mushrooms he saw. So, does that mean the Misty Mushrooms Blair was cultivating were actually the little creatures following him?

As Angel pondered the role of Misty Mushrooms, Blair raised its plump abdomen, and from an indescribable place, with a sudden ”swish,” it extended a spike glowing with a scarlet blood light.

This spike resembled the cone sword used by a Knight, but the aura it emitted was far beyond what a cone sword could embody.

Even standing a dozen meters away, Angel felt a terrifying pressure.

This intangible pressure made Angel once again confirm that this beekeeping bee Blair, wearing a girly pink apron, was definitely not an innocent and harmless magical creature.

Angel could not determine Blair’s strength, but it was certainly not inferior to an Official Wizard! Perhaps it was even higher.

While Angel was being cautious, Blair vehemently thrust the spike from its abdomen into the Misty Mushroom growing on the ground. The stance, carried by wind and rain, was as though it intended to smash the Misty Mushroom. The three little creatures at Angel’s feet were scared into transforming into ground mice, quickly burrowing into the soil, not daring to show up again.

However, the Misty Mushroom being struck by Blair did not suffer the expected damage; instead, it swelled rapidly at a visible pace.

In an instant, what was just a palm-sized small mushroom turned into a giant mushroom the size of a house. As it grew bigger, the edge of the mushroom cap formed a shape lined with spikes, which were not for attacking but rather a special kind of pipeline from which a large amount of green powder was sprayed.

This powder looked like it had scales, glowing with a shimmering green light, converging in the air to form a luminescent green mist.

Angel didn’t know what effect this green mist had, but he vaguely felt that it was not to be underestimated.

Because he could perceive from the green mist a multitude of complex emotions. This meant that the powder composing the green mist was some kind of tiny creature.

Such a large gathering of creatures, no matter their small size, should never be taken lightly.

While Angel was observing the green mist, Blair looked at him with expectant eyes; Angel’s thoughts shifted, and he understood it probably wanted to be praised for its achievement.

”The coverage density still needs to be enhanced,” Angel said vaguely, not knowing exactly what the green dust was.

Blair’s eyes dimmed slightly: ”As expected of Lady Shava, identifying the problem immediately. It’s all because of the... cough, cough, my tail spike is injured. I can’t activate the Misty Mushrooms to reach a perfect maturity, so the coverage density is reduced.”

That ”one”? Was Blair saying it was attacked and thus injured? How could it be attacked in the ruins; are Nightmare Realm creatures feuding among themselves? Or is there an unknown danger in this Duling Garden?

Just as Angel’s mind was spinning rapidly, he suddenly thought of something, and his heart stirred as he said, ”As long as the efficacy hasn’t decreased, that’s good.”

Blair lowered its head somewhat dejectedly: ”The efficacy has indeed decreased a bit, some humans that have found the true path cannot be overcome, but for other humans outside, it shouldn’t be a problem.”

Perhaps to demonstrate the effect of the Misty Mushrooms, Blair then cited an example: ”Half a month ago, I tested it on a human captive, the Phantom Performance was not very effective, but the Misty Mushrooms could control him!”

Angel lowered his eyelids to conceal his surprised expression.

From Blair’s words, it was certain that the target of cultivating Misty Mushrooms was directly aimed at humans!

Moreover, the implication in Blair’s words was that both Phantom Performance and Misty Mushrooms were used to control humans.

Phantom Performance’s effectiveness was limited, but the Misty Mushrooms’ effect was better, capable of controlling humans except those who have found the true path. If the true path refers to True Knowledge Wizards, then Blair was implying that Misty Mushrooms could control humans other than True Knowledge Wizards?

If I further associate this with the recent situation on the Pamiji Plateau, Angel suddenly thought of the vivification eruption.

Humans infected with the vivification play various roles, which seems to align with the name ”Phantom Performance.”

If Phantom Performance is indeed the instigator behind the vivification eruption, then Misty Mushrooms warrant particular attention. The vivification has already strained the Barbarian Cave, and it was barely suppressed. If confronted with Misty Mushrooms that even regular wizards cannot resist, the consequences would be unimaginable!

Although these were just Angel’s personal speculations, he vaguely felt that perhaps this was the truth.
