Chapter 1167: Section 1168 Blackfire Nightmare

The function of the Bead of Illusions had already been seen through by Aoluxiya, and although it hadn’t yet figured out a way to counter it, this had already made Monty feel uneasy.

Furthermore, with the addition of Yadasai at this time, the pressure on Aoluxiya was significantly reduced.

Aoluxiya relaxed, and Monty’s pressure began to surge.

The Bead of Illusions could allow him to shift between illusion and reality, but there was a premise, which was the need for a medium to pivot between the Illusionary Realm and the real world.

In reality, the Frost Giant was the medium. In the realm of illusion, the Bead of Illusions was the medium.

To destroy the Bead of Illusions was not easy. However, if one were to target the Frost Giant, that would be much simpler.

“So you like to shift between illusion and reality? Then let’s just imprison the Frost Giant permanently, or banish it to oblivion! I’d like to see how long you can hide in illusions!” Yadasai revealed a cruel smile and charged toward Monty.

Yadasai’s words also reminded Aoluxiya.

Aoluxiya immediately realized, instead of tearing the Frost Giant in two like before, it began to think of ways to shackle or banish it.

Under such circumstances, Monty had no choice but to crawl back from the realm of illusion.

Although they had forced Monty back to reality, it wasn’t easy to deal with him, because it was no longer two against one, but two against two.

The Frost Giant set its sights on Yadasai, while Aoluxiya continued to entangle with Monty.

However, the Frost Giant was ultimately just an elemental creature, albeit capable of temporarily contending with Yadasai, at most it could only buy some time, defeating Yadasai was an impossibility.

Once the Frost Giant could no longer hold on, Monty would be encircled.

A direct assault should be as swift as the wind, securing victory as quickly as possible. But if it turned into a siege, the advantages of a strong offensive would disappear. Moreover, with Nitotipu’s umbrella calling out, defeat would swiftly become apparent.

Under these circumstances, Monty began to ponder whether he should use his trump card.

However, using that trump card could potentially turn even Aoluxiya to ash. This was contrary to his purpose for coming here.

As Monty’s thoughts raced, the Frost Giant was trapped by Yadasai in a bone prison that isolated all elemental energy. Then, Yadasai’s gaze shifted toward Monty.

About to be encircled, Monty also began to feel anxious.

Monty looked toward the distant Nitotipu, hoping to see if anyone could spare a moment to help him hold off Yadasai. But this glance made his heart skip a beat.

Before, Sinafa, Issac, and Nereus could hold back Nitotipu, but now, having their properties greatly weakened by that Mysterious Umbrella, they became sluggish and ended up under Nitotipu’s control.

It was also fortunate that Samantha was now free to provide support, otherwise Nitotipu would also break free from the restraint.

Under these circumstances, no one could help him hold back Yadasai… As for the people on the floating ice, even Wizards who had advanced to True Knowledge were at best in the early stages and still couldn’t contribute against Yadasai.

Withdrawing his gaze and looking at Yadasai and Aoluxiya joining forces, Monty’s expression suddenly darkened.

Could it be that the hunting plan was truly destined to end in failure?

Just as Monty hesitated over whether or not to use his trump card, a neighing sound of a steed suddenly rang out from below.

Yadasai looked down and saw a tall bone horse with black flames enveloping its body, its hoofs trotting on air, and with a heavenward neigh, it charged toward the position of Yadasai and Aoluxiya!

“Blackfire Nightmare!” Yadasai exclaimed, the Blackfire Nightmare was a special type of abyssal creature, rumored to be the Harbinger of Death Kulangduo’s steed, typically found only in the deeper layers of the Abyss, how could it appear here?!

Monty, upon seeing this Nightmare, first froze, then a glimmer of joy flickered in his eyes.

He could only think of one person in Lassudral who could create a Blackfire Nightmare!

Yadasai drew out a long bone knife, preparing to slice through the Blackfire Nightmare as it charged, its peculiar nature notwithstanding, its actual strength was not much compared to Yadasai.

As the mysterious flames came close enough to touch his face, Yadasai confidently swung his blade, slashing fiercely at the still neighing Nightmare.

Without any resistance, the Blackfire Nightmare vanished, leaving behind only a few embers in the air.

Yadasai was stunned for a moment, then suddenly turned around.

Unbeknownst to him, a strange old man had appeared behind him, with white brows hanging to his chest and wearing a blue-black triangle wizard hat embroidered with orchids. The old man, speaking in fluent Demon Language, said with a smile, “To greet the approaching nightfall, let me say in advance, good evening.”

As soon as the words fell, the old man’s figure dissolved into a puddle of black ink, the night chill spreading the ink like water, turning it into a dense night.

Before Yadasai could react, it was already enveloped in the embrace of the night.

At that moment, a door opened within this darkness. A man adorned in black nobility attire emerged from the door, standing directly before Yadasai amidst the night.

“Your opponent is me.”

Yadasai looked at the man before him with a trace of apprehension in his eyes. Although Yadasai had never fought him, he had seen how this man alone had trapped the grand demons like the Minotaur and others in an Illusionary Realm, unable to escape. True, it was ultimately a chaotic magic energy cannon that led to their defeat, but it was undeniable that without the man before him, all the subsequent failures would not exist!

Yadasai remembered someone had mentioned the man’s name before.

— Sanders!

…

Monty, with a slight smile on his lips, looked at Yadasai who was engulfed by the darkness of the night. What he hadn’t expected was that in the end, it would be Sanders who came to his rescue.

The Blackfire Nightmare that had charged at them must have been an invention of Sanders—a Nightmare Substitute. And turning into night to trap Yadasai was surely the work of Kanter of the Night.

They worked as light and dark, trapping Yadasai in the night together.

Moreover, Kanter and Sanders were very compatible old partners; their teamwork was much more in sync and effective than the three people who had surrounded Yadasai.

Monty’s gaze then shifted to the porcelain-white figure opposite him. Now, his opponent was once again only Aoluxiya!

Everything seemed to come full circle, and the battle was reignited!

The wizards on the floating ice, seeing Kanter and Sanders arrive, could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

“The Lord of Illusion and Lord of the Night arriving in time indeed gives much peace of mind,” a wizard remarked with a sigh.

Rivetta nodded, glancing sideways at a wizard in a forest magic robe: “Previously, some attacked Lord of Illusion’s disciple, and I thought perhaps the Lord of Illusion would not come. Heh, it seems now that the Lord of Illusion holds a greater vision.”

Mu Ying from the Extinguished Torch Academy, who had been severely injured earlier and had difficulty speaking, now found his voice again and quickly added, “Exactly, those with limited vision can only see what’s in front of them. Instead of working on improving relationships with someone of potential, they rush to destroy them… In a drama, conflict creates high points. But in reality, one should weigh the gains and losses and not be blinded by jealousy.”

The other wizards agreed. Although the wizards of Gravity Forest were enemies with Sanders, they had no quarrel with Angel. Considering the valuable interests Angel represented, it made sense to forge a friendly relationship with him.

In the Wizards’ Realm, with the right interests, all past views can be put aside.

Just as Sanders, not fond of the Frostmoon Alliance, was still willing to come to Monty’s aid. And Sanders’s disciple, Flora, was also great friends with Sinafa.

The loves and hates of the Wizards’ Realm are actually very complex.

“However, it’s too late for anything now, poor Angel… I had hoped to persuade him to leave Illusion Demon Island and join our Extinguished Torch Academy,” Mu Ying shook his head, full of regret.

Before Mu Ying could finish his lament, a person beside him suddenly stared blankly, pointing towards the sky in the distance and saying,

“That’s wrong, look over there… Doesn’t that look like Angel?”

Following his pointing finger, Mu Ying saw in the floating rain not far away, a dark-skinned woman walking on air, accompanied by a noble-dressed youth.

The youth wore no hat, his blonde hair shining brilliantly.

It was, indeed, Angel!

Not just Mu Ying, others also recognized Angel. Some wizards from Gravity Forest were shocked at the sight of him.

Angel had actually survived?! How could it be possible that he lived through the previous situation?

“Eh?” Rivetta uttered unexpectedly, retrieving a recording artifact and image capturing device to aim at the sky far away: “The woman with Angel seems to be Fafnir! That Abyssal Wind Dragon who fought Komodo before!”

Indeed, without Rivetta’s reminder, others also took note of the woman beside Angel.

From their current postures, it seemed like Angel had once again joined Fafnir. What exactly was their relationship?

Elsewhere, the wizards of Gravity Forest were filled with a sense of powerlessness and regret following their initial shock. If only they had known, they wouldn’t have attacked Angel.

Now that enmity had been established and Angel hadn’t died, the price of mending their relationship in the future would be extremely high!

As for continuing to attack Angel now, it was already too late.

Judging by the current situation, it was apparent that Angel had entered Fafnir’s circle of protection. Any attempt at attack would likely end with their own deaths.

The wizards of Gravity Forest were despondent.

Other organizations’ wizards, however, had not thought so much; they were most curious about last they saw Fafnir battling Komodo, and now Fafnir had appeared, but where had Komodo gone?

And, Sanders was supposed to be with Angel before, but now why was Angel following Fafnir again? Did this mean that Fafnir was siding with Illusion Demon Island?

So… would Fafnir help the human faction?
