Chapter 1123: Section 1124 The New Mystery

“Where does that umbrella floating over the sea come from?” Angel asked with some curiosity.

Canaan: “I don’t know. It seemed to simply appear out of nowhere.”

An umbrella appearing out of nowhere, and even inciting the sea demons to compete for it, suddenly brought to Angel’s mind some records in the ‘Wandering Wizard Fiewenda’s Strange World’.

——Fiewenda had once chronicled a Silver Fish Tribe where a Mysterious Object was born out of thin air.

This umbrella didn’t have many connections to the records in ‘Strange World,’ but for some reason, Angel thought of this first.

“Could it be that this umbrella is actually a Mysterious Object born naturally from the heavens and the earth?” Angel’s intuition told him so.

The birth of a Mysterious Object is not solely the result of alchemists’ creation; nature itself can give birth to them. Just like with the Silver Fish Tribe, even an ordinary fish could create one. Initially, Lucas was a mortal, yet his head turned into a Mysterious Object.

However, intuition after all is not enough, and Angel did not believe that his power had reached a level where he could make the most accurate judgment based solely on his innate Spiritual Sense.

He merely buried this guess in his heart.

Even if Nitotipu’s umbrella really was a Mysterious Object, it was not something he could covet.

The Illusionary Realm in the courtyard continued to shift and change. At this moment, a man covered with twelve clocks within the Illusionary Realm kept incessantly manipulating the time wheels on his body.

After a while, phantom clocks appeared behind Luci, and these clocks swung and rotated ceaselessly.

Suddenly, in the midst of the clock phantoms, a crimson eye appeared out of thin air!

From this eye, a ray of light extended and connected to Luci’s forehead.

Through the silhouette of this pupil, one could vaguely make out an umbrella, with fangs on its handle and a vile tongue swirling, dripping saliva…

When the crimson eye disappeared, Luci opened his eyes.

“This umbrella indeed has an extraordinary origin,” Luci said, pausing as if contemplating something, and it took him a while to continue: “Behind the umbrella, I saw endless Blood Shadows. It is an umbrella of slaughter, with countless people dying beneath it.”

Rivetta asked anxiously, “Then, is it the source of the Raincloud’s birth?”

Luci neither shook his head nor nodded: “I cannot observe. I used this question as the condition for observing the Wheel of Time, but the Wheel of Time did not respond to me.”

“You couldn’t see?” Rivetta felt somewhat disappointed. She had always trusted her special intuition, but after all, this was the Abyss, and it involved a Great Demon, so she lacked confidence and needed Prophecy to confirm. But now, even Luci could not observe, which made her very disappointed.

“Although Luci wasn’t able to observe, it doesn’t mean the Prophecy failed. Right, Luci?” Monty’s eyes were sharp, and even though he wore a mask, Luci still felt an intense piercing gaze he couldn’t directly look into.

Luci lowered his head, avoiding Monty’s gaze: “That’s right, Mr. Monty is absolutely correct. I took the umbrella as an imagery for a marginal inquiry, which is a very simple question, yet the Wheel of Time did not answer me. This is abnormal, and it means that this umbrella is not simple at all. I can feel that Nitotipu did not detect my probe, so the umbrella avoided the Wheel of Time’s capture of its information by its own energy.”

“What you mean is, this umbrella…” Luci had already made his point so clear that Rivetta couldn’t fail to understand.

“Indeed, if it were to be said that an external object influenced the Raincloud, then this umbrella is absolutely the most suspicious one.”

Upon Luci’s conclusion, Canaan, watching the Illusionary Realm from the ground, couldn’t help but exclaim, “Is this the Prophecy of humans? It’s too unbelievable.” Regardless of whether the Prophecy was successful or not, the final deduction could still be made, something Canaan had never imagined.

“It’s not just Prophet Wizards, any wizard who poses a question to you, as long as you answer, whether your answer is true or false, can extrapolate information beyond your imagination,” Angel replied. When wizards truly want to understand a question, they rarely get the answer straight from your lips; they will consider the details of your expression, the secretion of pheromones, heart rate…and so on.

Therefore, one must be wary when facing witches, and even more cautious when facing Prophet Wizards.

After Luci announced his conclusion, Rivetta sighed with relief, seeing that her intuition wasn’t wrong. Now, knowing that the umbrella might be the cause of the Raincloud, what should they do about the umbrella?

Rivetta unconsciously looked towards Monty, seeking an answer from him.

However, at this moment, Monty was not looking at Rivetta but was staring fixedly at Luci: “I noticed in your earlier expression, there seemed to be more you had not said.”

Luci hesitated for a moment, then nodded, “I saw some past scenes of this umbrella, and I always feel that it doesn’t seem to be crafted by a Demon. It’s more like… the handiwork of humans?”

As Luci voiced this, Canaan, who was on the ground, suddenly scoffed and shook his head, “This is not the handiwork of humans. The style of this umbrella, with its three segments of ribs and the pattern on the ribs, it’s obviously made by the Indigenous People. Let me think, it seems to be the craftsmanship of the Neya Tribe?”

The Neya Tribe? Angel’s mind flashed to the Half-Blood Demon he had encountered at the entrance when he went to find Baltica; it was a Sheep Demon’s Butler, and at that time, a Knight had mentioned that it was a mix of the Neya Tribe and Demons.

He hadn’t expected to hear the name of the Neya Tribe here again. Could it be that this tribe of Indigenous People was also a major clan in the Abyss?

Angel’s thoughts only wandered for a moment, before being drawn back by Rivetta’s question.

“Is it really the handiwork of humans? Could it be that it was made by a human Alchemist?” Rivetta mused doubtfully, murmuring to herself, “Could it be Angel?”

No one paid attention to Rivetta’s speculation, and after she said it, she felt embarrassed herself. Even if Angel had crafted high-level items, the umbrella Nitotipu had, Luci had mentioned before, had an extraordinary origin and had gone through countless slaughters. Even if Angel started crafting it immediately after arriving in Lassudral, there wouldn’t have been enough time.

“It doesn’t look like an Alchemist’s handiwork; I see that the materials seem to be ordinary mortals’, but it’s certainly no ordinary object. My guess is… it might be a naturally occurring Mysterious Object,” Luci had hesitated before because he was unsure if the umbrella was as he suspected.

After Luci finished speaking, he looked towards Monty.

He noticed that Monty didn’t show any sign of surprise, though, of course, there might have been one, only obscured by the mask.

“What do you think?” Monty turned to Sanders.

Sanders said indifferently, “Whether it is or it isn’t, Lord Monty, do you not already have an answer in your heart?”

“It seems that Sanders sees more clearly,” a laugh escaped from behind the mask, but the mirth didn’t reach Monty’s eyes. He turned to Luci, “Your guess is not wrong; that umbrella is very likely the source of all misfortune, and indeed, it is a Mysterious Object.”

…

Just as I thought! A sense of emotion arose in Angel’s heart; it seemed his intuition hadn’t been wrong.

Mysterious Objects were not only born in the Wizards’ Realm; countless planes and endless worlds could all give birth to such strange items. It’s just that some are buried treasures never to see the light of day; others shine dazzlingly bright from the moment they appear.

The Frostmoon Alliance was eager for interdimensional exploration, with similar aspirations in mind. Many Mysterious Objects, upon creation, are very conspicuous and are collected by the elite of different planes. By undertaking interdimensional exploration, one could get their hands on these items first. And these worlds are mostly lower-level ones, posing little harm to the Wizards themselves.

Like that one time Fiewenda discovered a Mysterious Object that was actually born in an oceanic plane with no land at all – the most intelligent were a group of fish from the Silver Fish Tribe, whose intelligence was at most basic.

Think about it, if a Wizard embarks on exploration in such a plane, they could effortlessly acquire a Mysterious Object. How profitable is that?

Of course, that is only what is recorded in books, and Angel was well aware of survivorship bias. More often than not, such a stroke of luck wouldn’t happen.

After Monty confirmed it was a Mysterious Object, everyone’s gaze held a hint of greed.

But they were also self-aware, facing such a powerful Demon; they shouldn’t even think about seizing the Mysterious Object. It would be good enough if they could save their own lives.

“If it is a Mysterious Object, then how should we deal with it?” Rivetta asked with a puzzled face, “We don’t know the specific mysterious properties of the umbrella. It would be disadvantageous for us to face it head-on, right?”

“Indeed, we don’t know its mysterious properties, but based on the current situation, we could make some deductions,” Luci said.

The umbrella could create a Raincloud Space, where Nitotipu was nearly invincible. From the scenes Rivetta had seen before, the Blood Cocoon did not recover quickly, indicating that the invincibility of the Raincloud Space only acted in favor of Nitotipu.

And thinking back to the fight between Nitotipu, Samantha, and Kanter, Nitotipu hadn’t been able to take them down in a short period, which shows that although Nitotipu was invincible in the Raincloud Space and could heal immediately after suffering injuries, the Raincloud Space did not enhance her strength.

Based on the current situation, it could be deduced that: once trapped in the Raincloud Space, one couldn’t escape unless Nitotipu voluntarily withdrew; within the Raincloud Space, Nitotipu’s physical endurance limit was extremely high, rendering her nearly invincible to the Wizards at present.

The effects displayed were strong; once the Raincloud Space was established, it would be very difficult to deal with Nitotipu, but there were also many relative restrictions.

After analyzing point by point, Luci turned his gaze towards Lord Monty.

Although he had a basic idea of how to handle Nitotipu, he was aware that there was still a gap between his own knowledge and Monty’s, and it was necessary for Monty to make the final decision.
