After exchanging information with Eve and confirming the basics of the Grass Returning Pill, Gu Xi finally pushed open the curtain of the flower palanquin.

Upon stepping out, Gu Xi immediately surveyed his surroundings.

Seeing Gu Xi’s actions, Li Yufang, who had been guarding outside the palanquin, swiftly floated over. She naturally leaned against Gu Xi but noticed that his gaze was unusual.

”Young master, what’s wrong?”

”I’m just assessing the situation around here. Did this Bitter Alchemist start his alchemy right here?”

”This?” Li Yufang pondered seriously, ”I’m not entirely sure, but ever since I can remember, he’s always been here. Why, is there a problem?”

”No problem, I just feel like he had pre-selected the ground for planting the Grass Returning Pill.”

Gu Xi shared some details about the Grass Returning Pill with Li Yufang.

Upon hearing the requirements for upgrading the Grass Returning Pill, Li Yufang’s complexion changed.

She clearly realized she almost became material for upgrading the Grass Returning Pill Tree.

However, she understood she was currently unable to confront Alchemist Qing.

Not to mention the others, just the customers waiting for the Grass Returning Pill were not ones she could handle now.

A few wouldn’t be much of an issue, but if there were many, Li Yufang herself couldn’t withstand them.

So even if she almost ended up as a sacrifice, she could only keep the matter in her heart, waiting for a future opportunity to settle the score.

Gu Xi also noticed Li Yufang’s expression.

”Let’s not discuss this first. Let’s settle your Grass Returning Pill issue.

I plan to arrange two underlings to plant trees and set up a bright and a dark spot. You guard the obvious one to attract attention.

The hidden spot you needn’t worry about; I’ll figure out a way to conceal it.

Guarding the obvious spot will apply more pressure on you.

According to the Grass Returning Pill here, the first batch is meant for the Tree Planter.

This will take twenty years.

From the second batch on, three Grass Returning Pills will emerge, of a slightly lower quality.

However, no one will compete with you for them— all three can be yours.

If not, then all six will be given to you.

The entire process will last about fifty years.

During this time, you’ll likely need to guard here most of the time.”

”Rest assured, master.”

The matter concerning her breakthrough made Li Yufang drop the ’young master’ and directly address him as ’master.’

”It seems you’re prepared, so I can rest easy.

Additionally, let me clarify something.

Your allegiance isn’t without cost.

Your strength is still somewhat weak for me. Since you’re borrowing my name, you should pay some tax.

Apart from the blood and flesh required annually on the surface, you’ll need to provide ten portions of the same level blood and flesh to me and collect some resources upon request. You might also be assigned to battle in certain worlds.

No matter what the task, you must complete it with quality and quantity assured.”

”Young master, rest assured, I won’t disgrace you.”

Seeing Gu Xi had arranged the key matters and began making demands on her, Li Yufang’s tone took on a hint of playfulness.

”Speak properly.”

Gu Xi gave Li Yufang a sidelong glance, sometimes unable to comprehend how someone with a jade exterior could seem so spineless at times.

”Rest assured, master, I’ll handle the tasks well.”

With Li Yufang’s commitment, the next proceedings became much simpler.

Gu Xi now needed to find a suitable place for planting trees.

The place nearby was close to Li Yufang’s original base.

She had a relatively good understanding of the surrounding conditions.

Previously, when Gu Xi hadn’t specified the needs, she hadn’t given it much thought.

Now with Gu Xi detailing the situation, Li Yufang immediately proposed several appropriate locations.

”I know a place that belongs to an underground grassland, and I also know of a natural Burial Ground. Both aren’t too far—about a day’s journey from here.

I’ve been to the Burial Ground once; there are some old folks inside, but their strength isn’t impressive—I can handle them solo.

However, I might need some help for the underground grassland area.

It’s rumored to have a Grass Dragon lurking beneath.”

Hearing this, Gu Xi was slightly intrigued by the Burial Ground.

”What’s the deal with the Burial Ground? Who are these old folks you mentioned?”

”They’re all ghost immortals, their strength is comparable to mine, but there are many of them. The strongest are three who claim to be the Three Immortals Alliance.

Each of them is about as strong as I am.

Apart from them, there are several weaker groups as well.”

Upon Li Yufang’s explanation, Gu Xi furrowed his brows.

”All ghosts?”

”All of them.”

Gu Xi pondered for a moment before stating to Li Yufang: ”We will head to the Burial Ground first. I want to see the origin of these ghosts there.”

With Gu Xi’s decision, Li Yufang grew excited.

She knew well about the appeal Gu Xi held for ghostly beings.

When she first encountered Gu Xi, she felt an impulse to submit to him.

If she hadn’t suppressed that impulse, she might have thrown herself into Gu Xi’s embrace at once.

Now that Gu Xi was willing to make a move, she felt confident enough to deal with the Burial Ground.

Li Yufang promptly stepped forward and gestured, ”Please board the palanquin, master.”

”You’re such a cunning one.”

Seeing Li Yufang’s drastic change in attitude, Gu Xi fully understood her thoughts. He shook his head gently before turning and stepping into the flower palanquin.

Li Yufang smiled subtly; this time, she didn’t get on the palanquin but led the way, letting Gu Xi ride in her flower palanquin.

However, Gu Xi felt somewhat strange sitting alone in the palanquin.

Had he known he’d be riding alone, he might have opted for his Evil Coffin.

Though the Evil Coffin might not be impressive in appearance, it was essentially Gu Xi’s mount, and it had the potential to upgrade.

While contemplating this, the palanquin suddenly came to a halt.

Gu Xi, puzzled, pulled back the curtain to peer outside.

”Why did we stop here suddenly?”

As the curtain lifted, Gu Xi saw Li Yufang standing just at the left side of the palanquin, akin to where the matchmaker and maid would be in a wedding procession.

Merely lifting the curtain allowed him a direct view of her.

Such conduct made Gu Xi feel somewhat speechless.

At such a moment, what’s the reason for this pretense?

But before Li Yufang could respond, Gu Xi, looking out the window, noticed an eerie and strange landscape not far away.

This plot of land, appearing as a grassland, showed hidden withered bones beneath the grass swaying in the breeze.

”Have we arrived?”
