As for Red Armor, Gu Xi didn’t have much thought, but he still wanted the correct method to upgrade Purple Armor to Orange Armor.

At the same time, in this real world, Gu Xi wanted many things.

In these various textbooks, Gu Xi saw many things different from what he learned in Bailian City.

Many were secret knowledge passed down by major guilds or families.

Yet here, it was merely basic knowledge.

Such as methods for soldiers to break through Level 20, cultivation methods for specialty resources, cross-game teleportation technology, etc.

Within these were many things Gu Xi had heard of but hadn’t mastered.

Now, Gu Xi aimed to obtain all of them.

But just as Gu Xi prepared to pack and buy the selected textbooks, he encountered a problem.

In the real world, most transactions didn’t use the negative energy or other various energies Gu Xi imagined.

This kind of thing could be obtained in bulk by any player entering the game.

It wasn’t valuable in the real world.

In the real world, there was a dedicated currency.

Gu Xi wanted to take things out for barter, which didn’t work here.

Ultimately, Gu Xi could only put the packed books back, figuring out the location of the auction house, intending to sell some of his belongings and return to buy the textbooks.

However, the bookstore clerk shook their head and said, ”What you just brought out won’t be accepted by the auction house. If you want to sell negative energy, you need to go to North Street.

But this unprocessed negative energy is considered a primary product, and the price will be relatively low.”

With the clerk’s words, Gu Xi was somewhat troubled.

He could only bring out this negative energy, which he could obtain quite a bit of every day.

Now saying this negative energy was of no use, Gu Xi didn’t know what he could trade.

Fortunately, the clerk was a conscientious person, seeing Gu Xi genuinely wanting those books but without the corresponding currency, simply recommended Gu Xi visit a nearby black market.

After all, the things Gu Xi could bring out were most convenient to sell on the black market.

Besides going to the black market, the clerk also told Gu Xi another method.

That is to go to the city hall to accept a task.

The things Gu Xi wanted to buy were just some textbooks.

The price of these things was not expensive, a reward from an ordinary task was about enough.

And the tasks in the city hall were not all tasks within the game, some could be completed in the real world.

As long as Gu Xi chose the right task, he could soon get rewards and buy as many books as he wanted.

Gu Xi seriously considered the clerk’s suggestion.

Now Gu Xi was all about listening to others and having enough to eat.

Whether it’s the black market or the city hall, Gu Xi would go and have a look.

To see where his opportunities lay.

If it really doesn’t work, then make another run to the auction house.

With so many things in hand, Gu Xi would have at least one or two items he could sell.

Precisely because of this thought, Gu Xi aimed for a calm mindset.

And luck indeed favored Gu Xi.

At the city hall, Gu Xi saw many tasks in the city needing to be handled.

One of the tasks caught Gu Xi’s attention.

In a cemetery fifty miles outside the city, some ghosts appeared in recent days.

These ghosts had started leaving the cemetery, moving outward.

Initially, Qianfang City’s idea was to get some Undead Mages to deal with these ghosts, or have Priests wielding Holy Light Power eliminate them.

But they didn’t expect the situation with these ghosts to be a bit different.

The ghosts were quite cunning, hiding when faced with a large number of enemies.

When there were fewer enemies around, they would actively attack.

Their tactic was all about advancing and retreating accordingly.

With this situation dragging on and on, over the past month, several ghosts still hadn’t been dealt with.

Some Undead Mages even went there without even seeing the shadows of the ghosts.

Thus, the price for this task kept rising.

Finally becoming a difficult issue.

Glancing at the task description and then at the final reward, Gu Xi decisively stepped forward and said, ”Hello, I’ll take this task numbered TMH3V38HUHEGEV9G.”

The staff responsible for issuing tasks gave Gu Xi a look.

”You? You’re not graduated yet. Several Level 15 Undead Mages have attempted this task without success. Are you sure you can handle it?”

”I can. I’ve mastered the Death Lord’s Ability, and I think I can negotiate with the ghosts.”

Gu Xi confidently replied.

But Qianfang City wasn’t a city focused on undead matters, and the Undead Mages in this city were merely passing through or temporarily residing.

The staff here didn’t understand what the Death Lord’s Ability represented.

From the staff’s perspective, Gu Xi’s ability seemed insufficient.

Nevertheless, since the local Undead Mages had tried and failed, it was rare to have a new Undead Mage like Gu Xi willing to take it on, so they let him accept the task.

After all, they were already considering whether to invite a professional Lich King from nearby to handle the ghosts.

So the staff took the task list down and asked.

”What’s your game number?”

Gu Xi paused in his heart.

Oh no, would his game number work here?

With some concern, Gu Xi finally reported his number: ”629SHD2S0FXC30!”

The staff noted down the game number upon hearing it.

Then pushed the task list towards Gu Xi.

”Take a look, this is the task description. You have two days. If you don’t handle the ghosts within two days, the task is considered a failure. But this task has been listed for quite a while, so failure does not incur any penalty.

Don’t worry about it.”

While speaking, the staff handed the task list to Gu Xi.

On the matter of task rewards, the staff did not elaborate.

In his view, Gu Xi was unlikely to complete the task at hand.

So rewards or not, Gu Xi should just look at the task list. Seriously thinking of getting the task reward, he was probably dreaming.

Only the staff didn’t expect that Gu Xi was indeed after the task rewards.

Because of repeated failures and price increases, now this task hadn’t reached a high reward level.

But it wasn’t low either.

Earlier at the bookstore, Gu Xi had already understood the prices in the real world.

If this task was completed, aside from getting the previously packed books, Gu Xi could also purchase a key item he needed.

The Positioning Furnace Stone.
