Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 718: Chapter 716: Returning to the Guild

At the Teleportation Plaza of the Rays of Morning Public Land, Gu Xi, with the Illusion Magic Wand in hand, walked slowly out of the Teleportation Gate.

The moment he stepped out of the Teleportation Gate, Gu Xi saw the person in charge of the gate smiling at him.

”Once you’re out, step aside immediately, there are others waiting to use the Teleportation Gate.”

Gu Xi responded with an ”Oh,” and immediately made way.

After the person in charge sent off three players together, Gu Xi stepped forward and said, ”Comrade, when I entered the Lower World, I took on a mission to investigate what was wrong with a world. Here are the results of my investigation.”

As Gu Xi spoke, he pulled out a stone.

The stone was the shrunken version of a Stone Giant that Gu Xi found when he first entered the underground space.

This thing was even less significant than a rat.

If not for Eve’s involvement, this item might have been in the first batch of materials that Gu Xi couldn’t take away.

To prove his discovery, Gu Xi took back some of the stones from Eve.

Placing them on the desk of the person in charge, Gu Xi pressed a switch on it.

”This is a kind of instrument used to enhance the effects of Illusion Technique, and they are all over the drop points in that world.

This instrument materializes enemies corresponding to the players entering, so when players enter that world, they immediately attack anything that suddenly appears.

Initially, they fight illusions, but later, as they disperse, the battle array gets disrupted, and the illusions attach to the soldiers around the players.

It eventually turns into friendly fire.

That’s why some players who previously entered that world have suffered losses in this regard.”

Listening to Gu Xi’s account, the person in charge was dumbfounded; he hadn’t expected the issues to stem from this reason.

He reached out to pick up the stone Gu Xi placed on the table, studied it carefully for a moment, and then realized the situation.

”Ah, I’ll need to document this and get confirmation from those players who previously suffered losses in that world. If there’s no problem, the reward will naturally be given to you.”

”Sure.”

Gu Xi had no objections to such arrangements.

After all, matters related to rewards aren’t determined solely by Gu Xi’s word; they always need to investigate a bit.

Otherwise, if Chaoyang Radiance Guild issues a reward only to find it’s based on false information, who would they turn to for accountability?

Ultimately, from top to bottom, everyone would face consequences, so it’s better to be thorough from the start to clarify matters.

As long as the issue is genuine, subsequent rewards won’t be a problem.

After reporting all the information he could provide, Gu Xi left the Teleportation Gate area.

Upon exiting the plaza, Gu Xi did not return to his dormitory immediately but headed towards a big tree behind Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

This unique tree of Chaoyang Radiance Guild is known as the Sunset Fusu Tree.

The entire tree seemed to be a withered tree scorched by fire, yet Gu Xi did not sense any deathly aura from it.

Instead, the tree was full of ravens of various sizes.

All these ravens were messengers of Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

Compared to those raised by players, these ravens were of higher quality and could be said to be descendants of the Three-legged Crow flying in the sky.

Gu Xi didn’t ask how a dead bird could have descendants; it must involve some kind of technology.

Gu Xi came here to enlist the help of these ravens.

The ravens and owls raised by Gu Xi could send letters to his friends.

However, that required having the friends’ contact info or addresses.

If he lacked contact information, or if the person he wanted to reach was too far away, his ravens and owls became practically useless.

In such cases, the high-quality ravens before him became useful.

Although their flying time might be longer, these ravens could undoubtedly locate the intended recipients.

Gu Xi arrived at the Sunset Fusu Tree, taking out a lump of Negative Energy.

”I want to send a letter. The person might not be in this city; he is a player I met before in the game, named Fang Kang, following the Tower route and possessing Astrology abilities.”

Gu Xi stated his request.

As Gu Xi spoke, the Negative Energy in his hand grew.

All the ravens perched on the tree focused their gaze on Gu Xi.

Finally, a raven about half his height descended from the tree and swallowed the Negative Energy in a single scoff.

Seeing this, Gu Xi knew his request was accepted.

He promptly took out a letter, which detailed his latest experiences.

This time, Gu Xi’s collection of Architectural Design Plans was quite extensive.

However, being a Death Witch Lord, Gu Xi didn’t have much use for the Tower’s Architectural Design Plans.

His idea was to ask Fang Kang to exchange them for other Architectural Design Plans.

He could trade by set or individually.

After all, Gu Xi had architects who had reproduced numerous copies of the Architectural Design Plans.

Exchanging these wasn’t a loss for Gu Xi.

Gu Xi’s requirement was simple: if possible, trade for the complete set of Undead Architectural Design Plans that he didn’t have.

If Fang Kang didn’t have them, then he would take other Races’ Architectural Design Plans.

However, the Architectural Design Plans of other Races came with a condition: either they needed high production yield or the troop quality had to be relatively strong.

Ultimately, it was an even trade, exchanging items of the same Level.

Only through such equitable trades could business continue smoothly.

After handing over the letter to the raven, Gu Xi watched as the raven took flight, changed direction in the sky, and flew away.

Once the letter was sent, Gu Xi, with Illusion Magic Wand in hand, headed towards the blacksmith shop of Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

At that time, the blacksmith shop remained as crowded as before, with many Blacksmith Apprentices casting iron ingots.

When Gu Xi entered, a Fierce Weasel came forward.

”Dear customer, what would you like?”

”Well, I crafted a Blue Magic Staff earlier, but now I have a new staff, and I’m a bit reluctant to part with the old one...”

Before Gu Xi could finish, the Fierce Weasel caught on.

”I understand, customer, you want to transfer everything from this staff to the new one, right? Rest assured, we have professionals who can handle this.

However, there are two methods for such a transfer.

One method involves directly melting down the old staff to extract and re-enchant its elements onto the new staff.

The other method uses the new staff to devour the old one.

In any case, regardless of which method you choose, the old staff will be gone; you should consider this carefully.

Don’t come back later saying the staff could have been upgraded to Purple Quality; we can’t compensate for that.”
