Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 701: Chapter 699: Dragon Burial Vein

The Ghost Squad is quite capable now. In just half an hour, the Ghost Squad had dug out a deep pit at the location designated by Gu Xi.

They didn’t need to transport what they dug back to Yalidu City.

They just piled the soil on one side, which made their excavation speed even faster.

Thus, in less than half an hour, they had dug up what Gu Xi wanted.

Standing before the deep pit and looking down, seeing the soil mixed with specks of black luster, a thought flashed through Gu Xi’s mind.

This is an abandoned ore vein.

However, judging by the current situation, it obviously wasn’t abandoned due to overexploitation.

If it were overexploited, there should be nothing left in this ore vein.

The current situation is clearly abnormal.

Thinking it over, Gu Xi released the Netherworld Dragon Robe Carrier again, pressing his right hand down once more.

With the ore vein already uncovered, standing on top of it made Gu Xi’s view even clearer.

In Gu Xi’s eyes, a gray aura was gathering over the spring, seemingly whispering its unwillingness there.

Gu Xi softly chanted a strange tone to the gray aura.

This was the Soul Whisper, which can communicate with spirits.

Because he had aimed accurately and used the right method, his Soul Whisper truly elicited a response from these gray auras.

Gu Xi saw a hint of green light appear above the gray aura.

This was the reaction of the undead showing friendliness to Gu Xi.

Gu Xi wasn’t foolish. Upon seeing the green light, he immediately activated the Death Lord’s ability.

”Great... Sir... help...”

Seeing the situation, Gu Xi decisively tapped the Cold Wind Staff to the ground.

”Death Witch Summoning!”

Thirty necromancers appeared swiftly.

Gu Xi looked up at the size of the gray aura and shook his head.

”Death Witch Summoning!”

”...”

After four consecutive Death Witch Summonings, Gu Xi had summoned a total of one hundred and fifty necromancers on site.

Then, Gu Xi quickly switched to virtual mana and once again released the Death Incarnation.

After doing all this, Gu Xi took a deep breath and commanded the necromancers.

”All necromancers, get moving, prepare for summoning.”

As for Gu Xi, he didn’t follow the regular summoning routine. He had already figured out the situation of this ore vein.

The ore vein had died, but death must elicit a response.

An ore vein can die, but it can naturally be summoned as well.

If Gu Xi just wanted to summon something, it would suffice to target and summon the gray aura in the sky.

The reason he went to such lengths was not just for the undead. He was preparing for an undead conversion.

With the help of one hundred and fifty necromancers, the setup for the undead conversion was swiftly completed.

Gu Xi turned to the Death Incarnation - Death God and said: ”When I say ’cut,’ use Death Reaping on the ore vein below!”

Saying this, Gu Xi began to deal with the ore vein below.

The most crucial aspect of undead conversion is to ensure the integrity of the undead’s body and soul through various means, preserving everything about the target.

Sometimes, resources must be invested to ensure the undead’s body will be fortified.

The current ore vein was a metal vein. Although the reason for its abandonment was unknown, the general thought for conversion boiled down to two approaches.

One was to make the original ore vein the primary focus, stuffing the gray aura’s spirit back in.

The other was to make the gray spirit the primary focus, absorbing what remained of the ore vein.

These two options represent different approaches to handling the undead conversion beforehand.

Gu Xi had already made up his mind when he summoned so many necromancers; he intended to strengthen the spirit.

As for the ore vein, it would serve as nourishment for the necromancers’ conversion.

After all, Gu Xi was not interested in how powerful the ore vein was but rather in the communicable spirit before him.

Under Gu Xi’s command, all the necromancers raised their short magic staffs, aiming them at the gray aura invisible to normal people in the sky.

With the Soul Summoning Skill injecting soul fragments into the gray aura, Gu Xi’s eyes saw changes occurring in the aura in the sky.

The aura was gradually solidifying, with a tendency to descend into the dead ore vein.

”It’s now, Death God, cut!”

The Death Incarnation - Death God had been waiting for this opportunity. Upon hearing Gu Xi’s command, he didn’t question why. He directly raised the Scythe of Despair and slashed at the abandoned ore vein below.

As he executed this move, Gu Xi also made his move.

Gu Xi slapped the Netherworld Dragon Robe Carrier on the back.

”Dragon Burial Vein!”

The Yellow Springs Dragon Robe immediately activated this skill.

Simultaneously, Gu Xi shouted to the circling gray aura above the ore vein.

”What are you waiting for!”

At that moment, the Netherworld Dragon Robe Carrier also took action, pointing at the ore vein in the deep pit and making a cutting gesture.

Then, the abandoned ore vein below the deep mine began to focus in one direction.

At that moment, as Gu Xi’s words struck, in his eyes, the gray aura pounced on the concentrated ore vein.

Roar!

A roar emanated from the ore vein, followed by the gray aura finally appearing above the deep pit.

Even without the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe, Gu Xi could see the gray aura rapidly coalescing, while large amounts of rusty scrap iron were continuously absorbed by the gray aura, gradually forming into a dragon shape longer than a Black Dragon.

”It succeeded!”

A notion stirred in Gu Xi’s heart, and he released his right hand from the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe.

At that moment, Gu Xi noticed that something seemed off about his right hand.

He extended his hand to see when he discovered that unbeknownst to him, his right hand had become covered in a substantial amount of rust.

It turned his skin somewhat dark red.

Gu Xi was momentarily taken aback and quickly assessed the situation here.
