Chapter 953: Chapter 197: Sin (2)

“Envoy, and Mr. Besong.” Saint Fran appeared in front of Bucky with graceful poise, “It’s an honor to have you at my daughter’s birthday dinner.”

When had Bucky ever seen Mingo behaving so respectfully? At this moment, he couldn’t help but feel secretly pleased, while pondering how to keep this old buddy in this posture throughout the evening.

Imagining Mingo bowing down to his Divine Arts, and kneeling before him every day, Bucky couldn’t help but feel a little excited.

“Oh, just leisurely passing by.” Bucky smiled slightly at this moment, “It’s rare of you, Saint Fran sir, to enthusiastically invite me, isn’t it? Besides, my god has always taught me never to refuse others’ goodwill.”

“Haha, I hope to hear more from the envoy in the future. I believe that on the road of life, I can avoid many detours.” Saint Fran also showed a cheerful expression.

Simultaneously, he was surveying the guests at tonight’s birthday banquet – it was apparent that among these guests, many had not felt that the appearance of this ‘Messenger of God’ was abrupt. On the contrary, they seemed quite delighted.

These people were clearly among the believers, or perhaps those soon to become believers.

Unbeknownst to him, this emerging church had attracted so many influential wealthy individuals, making Saint Fran secretly surprised.

He couldn’t quite belive that someone with the talent to develop this new church would be Bucky, who was lazy and completely lucky in his ascension – however, the name of the new denomination always made Saint Fran inwardly uncomfortable.

Is it merely coincidence, or something else…

“It’s rare, Saint Fran, for you to have such thoughts as well.” Mr. Besong cleverly interjected at this moment, “In fact, we have been editing the new doctrine lately, and the first version is about to be printed. If Saint Fran is interested, I’ll send it to you first.”

“I’m honored.” Saint Fran smiled slightly.

At this time, Saint Fran’s secretary suddenly approached him and whispered something. Saint Fran nodded and then apologetically looked at the ‘Messenger of God’, saying, “Envoy, I apologize. The mayor is about to arrive, and I must go over to welcome him. So, why not let my daughter entertain you? I hope she can gain some insight under your inspiration.”

“Alright.” Bucky agreed without hesitation… This old buddy seemed to be implying he’s sending his daughter to me – too bad Bucky had been dealing with Mingo for more than a decade, he was well aware of Mingo’s tricks.

How can this guy have such an attractive daughter… Was she conceived from an affair?

Bucky kindly speculated, while contemplating the methods to use when Mingo’s daughter appeared – frankly, Bucky lately found himself somewhat uninterested in female company.

On one hand, it might be because the outstanding female believers in the church made him somewhat numb to it, and on the other hand, maybe he was in love?

“Envoy, please come with me.” Saint Fran’s secretary respectfully invited Bucky at this moment with a hand gesture.

…

To Bucky’s surprise, Mr. Besong didn’t follow along – this guy, as the first fervent believer, usually wished he could stay by Bucky’s side every moment.

Unbeknownst to most, this devout believer already knew the ‘Messenger of God’s interest, and caught onto Saint Fran’s ulterior motives early on, and seeing the envoy’s keen interest, dared not interrupt the supreme ‘Messenger of God’s enthusiasm.

Saint Fran’s secretary then opened the door of a hotel suite for Bucky, allowing him to enter alone.

With his recently gained muscular physique and mastery of Charm Spell, Bucky calmly and collectedly, hands behind his back, walked in with a smile.

After he entered, the secretary courteously closed the door softly.

This was likely one of the luxurious suites on the nearly top floor of the hotel, complete with a duplex structure. At the moment, a woman stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the city’s neon lights.

Recalling Miss Cosini’s appearance, Bucky looked at her nearly perfect silhouette, feeling a slight warmth in his heart – not much interest in women, but encountering such a rare beauty makes it difficult to curb instinctual impulses.

Generally speaking, it can be defined as becoming selective.

Footsteps drew near, yet Miss Cosini did not turn her head. Even as Bucky came beside her and gazed out at the view simultaneously, she still did not make eye contact.

Bucky was a seasoned pro in romantic pursuits, from the lowest prostitutes to glamorous celebrities, he had experienced them all.

If his history of romance were edited into a book, it could likely span several hundred to thousands of chapters – he knew Miss Cosini’s apparent disregard carried an air of playing hard to get.

Little tease.

“Looking at these bright lights, what do you see?” Bucky suddenly asked softly.

Perhaps due to playing the role of a divine preacher for long, even Bucky himself felt his words carried a touch of divine wisdom.

Miss Cosini still did not glance at the ‘Messenger of God’, only calmly replied, “In this world, either one is pursued or pursues others, either bustling or exhausted.”

After hearing her words, Bucky did not respond, he merely stared out the window in silence – suddenly a bit confused, not knowing why Mingo’s daughter expressed such an emotion.

“Miss Cosini.” However, Bucky had eaten enough salt to react quickly: “Everyone may be fatigued, but there’s always a small group lucky… Miss Cosini, you are Saint Fran’s daughter, carefree, it doesn’t seem fitting for you to have such thoughts.”

“Do you believe living in a wealthy family is purely joyful?” Miss Cosini slowly diverted her gaze.

“Only more comfortable than those from low-income families.” Bucky said indifferently: “Perhaps what you are weary of is what others covet. What you disdain is merely habitual, nothing significant; little do you know that, in some people’s eyes, this is unappreciative behavior.”

Miss Cosini looked at Bucky, seriously asking: “Since you’re the Messenger of God, adored by believers, surely your wisdom earns their faith. I’d like to ask you a question, may I?”

“I don’t know everything.” Bucky shook his head: “Omniscience belongs to the god I worship, not me, the humble believer.”

“Can you save me?” Miss Cosini suddenly asked abruptly.

Bucky was momentarily taken aback and asked incredulously, “Rescue you? Miss Cosini, I don’t sense that you’re in any danger?”

Miss Cosini looked sorrowfully out the window again, “What you see is me growing up in a wealthy family, enjoying a privileged upbringing as the daughter of the benevolent Mr. Saint Flan… but the truth is, I was just an orphan without parents, simply adopted.”

Of course! Mingo, that bachelor, how could he have such an adorable biological daughter—so he had no doubt about Cosini’s confession.

“Even so, the goddess of fortune has quietly come to your side, hasn’t she?” Bucky chuckled, “Being adopted is a good thing, especially when Mr. Saint Flan is a good person.”

“Perhaps.” Miss Cosini was silent for a long time, then suddenly reached out to touch the floor-to-ceiling glass window before her, her fingers slightly clutching it, “Careful nurturing, material provision, even the future path planned out…what is there to be dissatisfied with?”

“There shouldn’t be.” Bucky nodded.

“But what if this man raped me when I was fourteen?” Cosini suddenly said something that caught Bucky off guard.

“This…seems unlikely, right?” Bucky’s mouth gaped.

From what he knew, Mingo wasn’t into that…while he himself occasionally played similar games, it was merely in the form of games, just a taste of that alternative thrill of breaking the taboo.

“Such beautiful art, how could anyone else sully it?” Miss Cosini looked sorrowfully at Bucky, “Instead of letting others taint it later, let me destroy it with my own hands… that’s what father said. I can never forget that day, a man who gave me everything appeared in front of me like an angel, took me from the cold welfare home, gave me a privileged life, suddenly bared his fangs like a devil, tore my clothes, and consumed me.”

Bucky was silent for a moment, then frowned and said, “Miss Cosini, why are you telling me this… this must be something you least want others to know, right?”

Miss Cosini showed a bitter smile, “Do you think I’m lying to you?”

Bucky instinctively shook his head, “Seems there’s no need for that, though it’s hard to accept… yes, people have dual personalities, maybe Mr. Saint Flan really is someone who’s well-dressed outside but rotten inside—however, why tell me these things?”

“I want you to rescue me.” Miss Cosini gazed at Bucky, “My father, Mr. Saint Flan, is a hypocritical person. His charity work is merely a way to gain more fame for himself. His ultimate goal is to gain enough support to smoothly enter the next presidential election.”

Holy…Mingo has ambitions, he’s up to something!

Transforming from a vicious thug to the nation’s leader… only this lunatic would dare to think of it!

“Only you.” Miss Cosini suddenly grasped Bucky’s hand, “Only you can rescue me from my father’s clutches. He desperately needs you, hoping for your help, along with the support of influential figures behind your New Church. With your support, he would leap closer to his goal.”

“So?” Bucky suddenly realized the woman’s intentions.

“Just tell my father that you’ve taken an interest in me.” Miss Cosini directly placed Bucky’s hand on her chest, alluringly, “Then, to please you, father will surely agree to your request without hesitation. In his eyes, I’m merely a toy for his amusement. If this toy can bring maximum value, father would gladly offer me up… this was the plan for tonight.”

“Ahem!” Bucky quickly withdrew his hand, “Miss Cosini, please respect yourself, I am a very decent man.”

“No… truly not?” Miss Cosini’s eyes softened, “I’ve been waiting for someone to appear, someone to take me out of the nightmare with my father. I swore… if such a person ever appeared, I would spend the rest of my life repaying them.”

She spoke as she reached behind herself, starting to unzip the pure white gold-embroidered gown.

Her hands uncovered the shoulders of the dress, letting the gown slide down. Cosini’s hands guarded her chest, slightly bowed, “Though this body was defiled… at least it was only my father… isn’t it attractive to you?”

“Hmm…”

Bucky swallowed hard.

The untainted adopted daughter, waiting to be rescued, really struck his excitement chord—he had never encountered this type of trait before.

But…

Looking at Miss Cosini who appeared totally willing right now, Bucky instantly suppressed his desire, suddenly spreading his palm.

A strange light emanated from his palm, causing Cosini to subconsciously gaze at it, her look gradually became unfocused… then vacant.

Next, Cosini stood like a puppet.

Bucky exhaled—a moment ago he had used his Charm Spell on the woman, making her stop. Now he crossed his arms and furrowed his brows, contemplating deeply.

Don’t rush, Bucky, think clearly if Mingo is truly that despicable.

Bucky glanced at the bare-chested Cosini.

Bucky, better safe than sorry…

Bucky glanced at the bare-chested Cosini again.

Bucky, what woman have you not played with…there’s definitely a trick here!

Bucky glanced at the bare-chested Cosini once more.

Bucky… damn it! I have Charm Spell, why not just ask directly?

Bucky suddenly slapped his head, then smirked wickedly, stepping towards Cosini.

Yet just as he planned to inquire, he was suddenly struck forcefully at the nape, instantly falling to the ground.

With his collapse, a figure emerged in the air—Shadow Realm’s queen coldly regarded the fallen Bucky, frowning, “Lewd scoundrel.”
