Chapter 950: Chapter 194: Immortality

Deep blue arcs of electricity formed a grid in the air, but Kuck’s long spear swept forth, flashing brightly as it broke through the grid, then fiercely striking towards the body of the woman in the black trench coat.

Bang——!

The body of the woman in the black trench coat was directly sent flying.

Kuck stood holding his spear with one hand, suddenly halting his attack, simply watching ahead — the position ahead, the woman in the black trench coat crossed her arms protectively in front of her, her bent stance slightly peculiar.

“Are you from Paradise Island?” Kuck was silent for a moment, then said indifferently, “Your physical technique is from Paradise Island. Hmm… it’s typically learned by field personnel.”

The woman in the black trench coat was shaking her hands now… just blocking Kuck’s sweep caused her hands to numb. If she hadn’t set up the electric grid beforehand to disperse most of the force, her arms’ bones would probably have been shattered.

The Twelve Divine Generals of the Maple Club, truly terrifying… Despite her developing the power of thunder and lightning obtained from that man crazily in recent times.

“No, that’s not right.” Unexpectedly, Kuck frowned, “With your power, you couldn’t just be with the field personnel… at the very least, you should be an elite warrior… Scan, identity check.”

Kuck suddenly muttered— and the crescent-shaped collar he wore around his neck flashed slightly.

“You’re really just a field agent?” Kuck was slightly surprised as he scrutinized the woman in the black trench coat, “Jessica?”

“Hello.” The woman in the black trench coat… Jessica suddenly replaced her smile, uttering a surprising question to Kuck — but at that moment, Jessica suddenly crouched down, her hands pressed against the floor!

Lightning bounced across the floor, then like wild horses, it charged directly at Kuck’s body!

Crackling sounds erupted in the air, and a multitude of arcs exploded on Kuck’s body at that moment!

Yet Kuck was unfazed, instead directly walking towards Jessica, “Although I don’t know why a field agent suddenly obtained this level of power, it’s still far from enough. At this level, the current needs to be ten times stronger to give me any trouble.”

“Is that so… then as you wish!” Jessica yelled angrily at that moment, and the blue lightning suddenly surged wildly.

“Why don’t you come back with me to Paradise Island, dying in this place would be a bit wasteful.” Kuck shook his head, still walking leisurely amidst the terrifying electric light.

“I will go… someday!” Jessica suddenly shouted.

Kuck sighed, gently swung the dark red spear in his hand, dispersing the arcs on his body, “Alright… just be prepared for injury, I will take you back.”

But just then, something suddenly flew towards Kuck. His spear skills had long reached a mastery level!

Like true lightning, the dark red spear pierced quickly four times, directly knocking away the things that came crashing towards him.

Pistols, metal plates, screws…

Kuck frowned, Jessica shouldn’t be using mind powers to control solids, “Oh… Magnetism, I see. But if it’s only to this extent… hmm?”

Boom——!!

A sudden loud noise!

An explosion occurred next to Kuck — from the console in this control room… It turns out Jessica’s real aim in emitting arcs was to blow up the instruments here.

Flames are burning.

Flames are burning, amidst the flames, Kuck walked out slowly, but Jessica’s trace was no longer here, probably she had already chosen her escape route at the moment of explosion.

Kuck suddenly shot his hand out, catching a screw that flew towards his face, suddenly smiling, “Good combat awareness.”

Meanwhile, Kuck’s communicator rang.

“Mr. Kuck, how is the branch base situation, did you catch the intruder?”

Kuck glanced at the man whose head had been blown off in the explosion, and said indifferently, “We came too late, the intruder killed the branch director here and seems to have already left.”

“Alright, I understand! But the intruder shouldn’t have been gone long, the follow-up troops are arriving soon, we will conduct a thorough search! Mr. Kuck, please go outside the branch base, I’ll come to pick you up!”

“No need, I’ll see if there are any other clues myself.” Kuck said and then shut down the communicator.

After speaking, Kuck went directly to the man who was first captured and interrogated by Jessica, but unfortunately lost his life in the instrument explosion — he was probably the director of this branch.

Kuck crouched down, then reached out to pry open the man’s eyes… directly gouging out his left eye.

…

In the forest, a staggering figure pushed onward.

The explosion’s impact was neither too large nor too small, yet it left Jessica extraordinarily wretched; the clothes on her back had been blown apart, and her left arm’s sleeve had disappeared.

The night was vast, yet frequently beams of light swiftly flashed through the forest… probably sent by the Maple Club to pursue her.

Jessica felt an excruciating headache, likely due to overusing her powers during the fight with Kuck.

Her vision increasingly blurred, her body weakened, evading this chase was still an uncertainty… returning to Paradise Island, seeking revenge against Paradise Island, was it no longer possible…

Ultimately, Jessica collapsed under the root of a large tree.

She flipped over with difficulty, then lifted her clothes — revealing a sharp piece of metal embedded in her abdomen, inserted during the explosion.

Jessica’s trembling hand grasped one end of the metal piece… it was deeply embedded, without hemostatic tools it wasn’t wise to pull it out directly, yet even if left alone, the wound would continually bleed!

Jessica took several deep breaths, then picked up a branch and bit it in her mouth. Her fingers quickly clenched, and in coordination with her breathing, she suddenly pulled out the metal chunk from her abdomen!

The branch was bit clean through instantly — but it wasn’t over!

Now Jessica used her last bit of strength, pressing her hands against the wound on her abdomen, then flashes of electricity sparkled…

She breathed rapidly, the pain almost suffocating her… Even though this brutal method stopped the bleeding, it had also exhausted her completely.

At this moment, not to mention standing up, even crawling on the ground seemed extremely difficult… perhaps she could only rely on fate, hoping those pursuing her would be careless and overlook her.

“You’re quite tenacious, aren’t you…”

Suddenly, a pleasant voice came through.

Jessica was suddenly startled not by the unexpected intrusion of a voice, but by the fact that it was spoken in Ye Yan’s country’s native language — in this place, why would someone from that country appear?

Jessica struggled to open her eyes, and what she saw was a petite figure, seemingly just a small girl.

“You are…”

“Oh? You can still understand my words?” The small girl squatted down at this moment — squatting in front of Jessica, “This seems like a part of the broken club’s sub-base… Did you destroy it?”

Jessica managed to say yes.

“Why did you destroy it, do you have a grudge?” the small girl suddenly asked.

“Revenge…” Jessica said weakly.

“Revenge… that’s really a coincidence.”

The small girl suddenly laughed in a low voice, “I also have some unsettled scores with this broken club. Thanks to them, I was rather poisoned… Hey, looking at your condition, it seems you can’t make it out alive, how about I lend you a hand then? Besides, my stomach is a bit hungry.”

“You…” Jessica moved her lips.

However, the small girl suddenly leaned down, and Jessica felt a piercing pain on her neck, but strangely, this reaction eased the pain from her abdominal wound, and even… a peculiar tingling sensation made her unable to resist gently moaning.

“You… are… who…”

“Remember who granted you immortality… Su Zijun.”

“Su…” Jessica’s lips moved, but ultimately she lost consciousness.

Moonlight suddenly flickered, dispersing the shadow of trees in the forest a little, and the small girl lifted her head, her red pupils suddenly widened.

She reached out to wipe the bloodstains off her lips and then looked down at Jessica’s face, “What a good kid indeed.”

“Found! They’re here!”

Suddenly, dozens of beams of light aimed towards the tree, surrounding it with a curtain of light, shadows gathered densely.

“There’s another one, an accomplice… a little girl?”

“Whatever, let’s take both of them in.”

The small girl suddenly stood up and said with a cold smile, “Let’s collect a little bit of interest first then…”

Something startled the birds sleeping in the forest, causing them to rush out of the woods and fly towards the night sky.

…

In the distance, Kuck looked puzzled in the direction of the mountain forest, but he simply furrowed his brows and didn’t plan to check — he had come to the secret chamber in this sub-base.

Basically, every sub-base has such a place — it’s a space for communication between the most important member of each sub-base and Paradise Island, as well as the location of a sub-base network host.

The elevator descended roughly fifteen meters underground, and when Kuck stepped out of it, the space before him wasn’t large, about twenty or thirty square meters.

Kuck walked to a large control panel and quickly entered a string of commands on the control board. Shortly after, a small scanner opened up on the side.

Kuck took the fresh eyeball he had extracted from the sub-head’s left eye and placed it in front of the scanner.

“Password scan verified.”

The screen interface instantly changed, and Kuck sat at the control panel, placing his hands on the keyboard and continuously typing out strings of commands.

“Connected to Paradise Island’s main system, connection initiated by Sub-Agent 019, access level three, capable of viewing files below third-level confidentiality. You can upgrade your access level to view higher confidential files.”

Kuck calmly took a palm-sized Crystal Card from his body — the card had circuit-like patterns and an Arabic numeral 7 engraved on it.

Kuck inserted this Crystal Card into a slot on the control panel.

“Access upgrading… Access upgrade successful. Authorization from the seventh Divine General ‘tyrant’, you can now review all confidential files of level seven or below.”

Kuck furrowed his brows and once again took out a similar Crystal Card with the number 5 engraved on it.

“Detected new authorization from the fifth Divine General ‘Magic Gun’, you can now review all confidential files of level seven or below.”

Looking at the text displayed on the screen, Kuck finally shook his head, “Two Divine Generals’ authorization is still not enough…?”

Without hesitation, Kuck quickly withdrew the two Crystal Cards and eventually left the place.

Upon returning from underground, he received news about the death of a dozen search team members — their death condition was very bizarre, as if bombs had been planted inside them, exploding entirely, leaving only piles of indistinguishable remains.

As for the culprit, no one had found anything.

Soon after, Kuck received orders from Paradise Island’s twenty-six seat, requesting him to immediately return to Paradise Island for the reason… a highly intelligent ‘Prometheus’ had been found on Romania’s land.

…

…

Firecrackers and fireworks, along with traditional drums and lion dance teams.

In front of the Chamber of Commerce Building on Zhonghua Street, it was bustling with numerous people gathered. Some were local residents, while others were visiting journalists.

Today wasn’t a holiday, yet Zhonghua Street was so lively because Old Master Song felt there was too much bad luck recently, so he decided to host a banquet, inviting almost all the old neighbors.

Song Tianyou, the old master of the Song Family, hadn’t appeared on Zhonghua Street in a long time. This sudden announcement attracted many people.

Especially some seniors residing on Zhonghua Street, who used to chat with Old Master Song, but hadn’t seen him in years, naturally they felt warm-hearted.

“Today, I want to announce two matters.” Song Tianyou said in front of the microphone while looking at a crowd of Zhonghua Street neighbors, smiling: “The first matter is that Bai Shuitang, the Chamber President, has resigned due to health reasons. We will select a new Chamber President soon to meet everyone.”

After pausing, Old Master Song continued: “As for the second matter, the Chamber’s ‘Gate of Life’ will be canceled from now on.”

This announcement caused a stir among the crowd.

Because, the ‘Gate of Life’ had a long history, and its sudden cancellation left people at a loss.
