Chapter 952: Chapter 196: Sin (Part 1)

Reflecting on the words of the maid, Luo Qiu was silent for a moment before he said, “You mean, she has always been waiting for an opportunity to descend?”

You Ye nodded and said, “After all, Scathach already belongs to the top-tier of summoned spirits. For people of this era, the chances of reaching a level to summon her successfully is virtually zero.”

“Hmm… Scathach.” Luo Qiu frowned, “When going through the old ledgers earlier, I seemed to have seen some information about her… Let’s wait until we return, and I’ll take another look.”

“Okay.” The maid had no objections to her master’s decision.

The club originally never opposed any side and was completely independent from everything, so whether to pay attention to a powerful individual naturally depended entirely on the club owner’s wishes.

“Is there anything else?” Luo Qiu glanced at the time, it was almost time to meet with the Song family.

You Ye said, “The shopfront has been tidied up, if the master has no other instructions, I will move out directly after leaving… I’ve already found several new addresses, waiting for you to decide.”

“Just make sure it’s close to my current destination.” Luo Qiu shook his head, “You decide.”

You Ye nodded, but suddenly took Luo Qiu’s hand, placing it on her forehead, and said softly, “I will be away for two days, unable to watch over you at all times, I’m truly sorry. Although an external force cannot erase your existence, the pain of a single death still remains…”

She raised her head, her gentle gaze on Luo Qiu, “I don’t wish to see you, in case of meeting a physical death and then resurrecting in the store, with pain, so please be careful, okay?”

“At present, trying to kill me is probably unlikely.” Luo Qiu chuckled, “Moreover, it’s merely two days, shouldn’t be much of a problem… my luck can’t be that bad.”

And indeed, it could only kill his physical body but could not erase his existence.

…

By rights, considering the old nun’s situation, she should continue to stay hospitalized. However, the old nun was adamant about leaving, saying she didn’t want to waste too much church funds on herself—though the Priest had repeatedly said that wasn’t a concern, he eventually couldn’t persuade the old nun against her wishes.

Therefore, Charlotte and her company were quickly taken to a church-owned house—akin to staff dormitories.

Sharing the space were several young church nuns and a nun in her forties who also served as a teacher to the young nuns.

Lucifer naturally moved in with the old nun and Charlotte.

For this reason, this Queen of Hell kept mocking fate’s marvels—allowing someone like her to stay in a church’s nun house, as if throwing a wolf among sheep.

Yet, since Mr. Isam’s death, Charlotte had become much more silent, rarely reacting to Lucifer’s occasional sarcasm, often just staring expressionlessly at this Queen of Hell.

Conversely, Charlotte’s changing gaze intrigued Lucifer even more.

“I truly look forward to the moment this bright gaze turns black…”

“Such a truly nasty interest.”

The first sentence was suddenly spoken by Lucifer, lying on the ground, while the second was a response from the Queen of the Shadow Realm who was watching TV—the old nun needed rest and stayed in her room while Charlotte attended nun classes, leaving Lucifer grounded, staying in Charlotte’s room.

“You also wish I could quickly regain strength to supply resources for your existence, right?” Lucifer said with her head down, tracing something on the floor.

“That I genuinely appreciate.” Scathach replied indifferently.

The protected one turned out to be one of Hell’s monarchs… It was probably her easiest summons ever—there wasn’t much reason for battle in this world, no need to fight other summoned spirits.

“Speaking of which, can you replenish your strength from food?” Lucifer suddenly asked out of curiosity.

Because prior, Scathach had eaten a lot—gathered from the kitchen—and was still eating jerky at the moment.

“Better than nothing.” Scathach looked at Lucifer, observing that she had gotten up.

Or rather, she was standing within a formation diagram about a meter in diameter—the materials for drawing it were mostly locally sourced, with ink made from ten-year-old bones mixed with other materials.

Of course, Lucifer hadn’t personally sourced these materials… Scathach shook her head internally, knowing if her former opponents discovered her first task after being summoned was grave digging, she’d be teased.

“Is it completed? What’s this?” But still, she was curious about Lucifer’s intentions with these materials.

Lucifer said calmly, “Nothing much, after summoning you last time, there was still some residual death energy, so I planned to use it to search for my original subordinates. They were in this city, but since I returned, they’ve been missing… but apparently, still unfound.”

The formation diagram beneath Lucifer’s feet flickered a few times before dimming completely.

Lucifer shook her head, “Seems they’re far away… Where have you run off to play, my lovely Charlotte.”

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave, esteemed summoner.” Scathach suddenly said.

Lucifer replied, “Wait, there’s something I want to ask your help to investigate.”

Scathach stayed, showing a listening posture.

Lucifer said, “Help me investigate this ‘Baji’ church… I heard their Divine Envoy never reveals their true face.”

“Alright.” Scathach nodded.

It’s a summoning that would indeed be ridiculed.

The Queen of the Shadow Realm sighed, suddenly saying before leaving, “Esteemed summoner, if possible, please put on some clothes. According to society’s ethics, your current appearance might cause unnecessary issues.”

Lucifer looked at herself in surprise.

Though the house was church-provided, it was somewhat simple—like lacking air conditioning.

In the stifling room, for some coolness, Lucifer wore only a small vest and blue-and-white striped panties—nothing more.

“A crime, eh.” Lucifer suddenly smiled oddly, “I’d quite look forward to it if twisted and perverted fellas appeared.”

Scathach sighed again, then phased her body through the room’s wall, leaving completely.

…

The philanthropist Saint Fran Mister has only recently become active in Rio’s social circles.

Regarding the background of Saint Fran Mister, it soon became well-known among everyone—many were eager to make the acquaintance of this man possessing incredible wealth and a penchant for charity.

And Saint Fran Mister himself was very willing to befriend those who visited him, so it wasn’t long before his private appointments were fully booked.

Tonight is the 20th birthday banquet of Saint Fran Mister’s daughter, Miss Cosini. The hotel had been booked long in advance, and the vehicles of the guests already lined up outside were impenetrable.

At this moment, in the lounge on the upper floor of the hotel, Saint Fran Mister was listening to a report from his personal assistant about the arrival of guests.

“…That’s basically all, sir. There’s also one more thing, which is that the mayor’s secretary called, saying that the mayor might be a little late because he has an impromptu meeting this afternoon that is not yet adjourned.”

Saint Fran Mister quickly instructed: “Respond to the mayor’s secretary for me, saying that I will definitely welcome him personally at the door.”

“Okay, I’ll respond right away.” The living secretary nodded swiftly, then hastily left the room.

Just as the living secretary left, Miss Cosini came out from the other side of the door, which was the changing room door of the lounge.

At this moment, Miss Cosini was wearing a white dress embroidered with gold, walking slowly out.

Saint Fran Mister glanced at her, nodded in satisfaction, and said with a smile: “Dear, you really are captivating to men.”

Saying this, Saint Fran Mister picked up a box from the coffee table and walked to Cosini. Inside the box was a necklace.

Saint Fran Mister personally put it on Cosini—before the mirror, after putting the necklace on Cosini, he grabbed her chin and aligned it with the mirror.

He also looked at the reflection of himself and Cosini in the mirror.

“Look, you really are a flawless creation. Do you know why I decided to adopt you from the orphanage back then? It’s because of that look in your eyes.”

Cosini slightly frowned—because the places Saint Fran Mister held on her chin and neck were a bit forceful.

“Do you know your task for tonight?” Saint Fran Mister suddenly asked.

“The target is the item on the Divine Envoy.” Cosini quickly replied.

Saint Fran Mister immediately let out a few strange laughs, “What a good child. Once you successfully get the item, daddy will reward you well.”

“Daddy…” Cosini’s gaze suddenly became unfocused, and her breathing turned rapid, her face also becoming pale.

It was as if she had lost all her strength and could only lean against Saint Fran Mister.

“Oh? Is it that time again?” Saint Fran Mister let out a few strange laughs again, but at the same time, he let go of Cosini.

As soon as he released her, Cosini collapsed onto the ground, “Daddy…”

“Just wait.” Saint Fran casually said, then turned and walked into another door inside the lounge, soon coming out with another box.

This time, the box didn’t contain jewelry, but a syringe and a small bottle of powder.

Saint Fran Mister squinted his eyes, beginning to dissolve the powder from the bottle and load it into the syringe—addiction, a very effective means of control.

This was an experience imparted by a Senior to Saint Fran Mister… Mingo, back when he was still in the Imperial Command, and it was very effective.

“Daddy… I’m in pain… Daddy… give me… daddy…”

“Oh, dear, don’t worry, I’ll make you feel better soon.”

Saint Fran Mister chuckled, then rolled up Cosini’s arm.

After lightly tapping the syringe a few times, he directly injected the needle into Cosini’s body.

She still labored to breathe, but these symptoms soon subsided. At this point, Cosini’s eyes were half-open, her expression gradually becoming strange, as if she was in pain, yet as if she was smiling.

As for Saint Fran Mister, he stored away the syringe, then sat down, smoking a cigar and drinking while watching Cosini’s current state.

About fifteen minutes later, Cosini suddenly opened her eyes completely, glanced around, but forcefully grasped her dress with her hand, with all her might.

Saint Fran Mister didn’t see this.

Seeing that Cosini had come back to her senses, he calmly said: “Go touch up your makeup, use your best face to greet this so-called ‘Messenger of God’ for me, and meet his requests as much as possible. I will create opportunities for you.”

Cosini nodded, turned and headed towards the fitting room. When she had her back to Saint Fran Mister, she bit the inside of her lip with force, her gaze becoming even darker.

At this time, the living secretary who went out for business knocked and entered, “Sir, the Mr. Besong you asked me to pay special attention to has arrived. As you said, he really did bring a friend wearing a mask, and I’ve already led them into the banquet hall.”

“Very well, I’ll go over in a moment.” Saint Fran Mister nodded.

…

Mr. Besong thought this was a great place to promote the greatness of ‘Baji Divine Religion,’ because he very kindly made a suggestion to the ‘Messenger of God’ he revered and admired: simply put, to show a couple of tricks here.

In general, Bucky is actually someone who accepts suggestions from his subordinates.

He thought Mr. Besong’s proposal was excellent, so right there he performed a blessing ritual on one of the believers who had already joined the ‘Baji’ church, and also on a local official who hadn’t joined the church but was skeptical about it, he threw another blessing ritual.

The effect on scene was quite significant, especially under the lead of some guests who had joined the ‘church’ early on and were attendees this time, many people privately contacted Mr. Besong, hoping to discuss the ‘church’ matters in detail.

Bucky was, of course, very pleased, happily calculating how many additional units of faith he could gather daily after boasting this wave.

He discovered a special function on the club Pad given to him by the maid, which allowed him to spend 100 units of faith per draw to spin this raffle roulette once.

The prizes are all really excellent, and if he happened to win, that would indeed be a profit.

“Hmm… Should I just go for a ten-roll?” Bucky muttered, stroking his chin: “It’s a pity there’s no guaranteed prize for a ten-roll, that’s just too black!”

Unaware of how to spin the roulette ten consecutive times, Bucky didn’t know that, at this moment in the banquet hall, a pair of eyes was watching his every move.

The source of the gaze was a woman leaning against a wall, only no one around seemed to notice her presence… the Queen of the Shadow Realm, Scathach.

“It’s not even an illusion magic…” the Queen of the Shadow Realm squinted her eyes, “It seems to be collecting faith… intriguing.”
