Chapter 910: Chapter 54: Descendants of the Sun (Part 1)

In fact, the time Ivan Hessenba spent recovering was longer than he had imagined.

Although his spirit recovered early, his body took two or three more days, it was still under the effect of consuming a large amount of pure blood—of course, for an inspector of the Thirteen Clans, especially someone like Ivan Hessenba who is a direct line of a Blood Prince in the clan, the supply of pure blood was never lacking.

The living room was very simple, with not a thing redundant—although it was exceptionally spacious, it only had one sofa, because Ivan was a minimalist.

Simplicity is beauty… Bloodsuckers have strange pursuits in aesthetics, and it was not surprising.

At this moment, Ivan was facing the fireplace. Although it was still summer in this part of the southern hemisphere, a flame had already arisen in the fireplace.

The flame flickered, transforming into a human face. This was Ivan’s superior, one of the three top directors with the most power in the inspectorate of the Thirteen Clans.

“Arex?”

“Yes, my lord.” Ivan half knelt on the ground, lowered his head, and was respectful, “He claimed to be, and was powerful. If not for his leniency, I’m afraid I would have already…”

“The chaotic Dream-Eating Tapir…” The face in the fireplace flickered unsteadily, as if in thought. After a long while, it said, “Ivan, you can just report this matter to me, and I’ll handle the subsequent issues.”

Ivan Hessenba suddenly said, “My lord, the hybrid Elizabeth seems to know Arex. Should I start with her to obtain more intelligence?”

The director coldly replied, “Ivan, there are quite a few hybrids among us… The attitude towards hybrids within the clan is quite delicate. We are currently in a balance stage, so do not trigger the conflict between purebloods and hybrids. Rebellious spirit is not exclusive to humans.”

Ivan was startled at heart. As a member of the inspectorate, they naturally got more intelligence. Over the years, from various clues, it seemed there was a hidden black hand within the clan, quietly organizing a group of hybrids, plotting something—of course, this was just his speculation.

But the director’s words gave Ivan a vague concept—is this black hand already taking action?

Then the director suddenly said, “But the matters in the castle need to be thoroughly investigated; you can start with Xitacil.”

“Him? My lord, I did not find him there at the time.” Ivan frowned.

The director said, “Our people discovered Xitacil’s whereabouts in Mexico, just around the dawn after the castle incident. Shen Yi submitted the guest list for the hunting day banquet, and Xitacil’s name was on it, so he should be an informant.”

“Understood, I will head to Mexico immediately.” Ivan nodded, “I will leave this place to my officer here. There seems to be a family among the humans investigating the castle, my officer will know how to act when necessary.”

“Some major families among humans hold significant power; avoid causing conflict between the parties whenever possible, as we… still have weaknesses.” The director’s voice became somewhat impatient.

Ivan promptly asked, “My lord, is there any other troublesome issue?”

“Funny enough, it’s actually coincidental.” The director said in a deep voice, “I remember a descendant of the Oriental Takizawa family was on the guest list for the castle hunting day banquet?”

“Yes, Takizawa Meigi.” Ivan nodded, “His nickname is Fraudster.”

The director said, “A few days ago, I received a report from the Eastern Inspector, also concerning the Takizawa family. It was very mysterious, the main family of Takizawa in the Orient was completely wiped out in one night, not knowing by whom.”

“What?” Ivan lifted his head in shock, “The Oriental Takizawa family; they have a fourth generation, and the Takizawa family was involved in that forbidden hybrid transformation, how could it be easily…”

“The Eastern inspectorate is weak, our reach cannot extend so far.” The director shook his head, “I’ve already sent additional manpower for investigation. You don’t need to worry about Takizawa family affairs, just focus on your own tasks. Besides, ten-year pure blood seems stingy.”

“This…” Ivan was startled.

The director said rudely, “This hybrid has a connection with the chaotic Dream-Eating Tapir, and since he is willing to step in to protect, it proves the relationship is not simple. The Blood Princes prefer to avoid trouble with Arex if possible, do not give him an excuse to come knocking. I will have five sets of Golden Pureblood sent from the clan along with thirty-year pure blood, deliver them personally to Elizabeth’s home.”

“Is he… truly that terrifying?” Ivan Hessenba couldn’t help but change his expression.

The director said lightly, “You haven’t experienced it; one night, over a thousand purebloods, including a Blood Prince, fell into a nightmare, unable to escape, the fear if he wills it, we might meet eternal silence in dreams. Remembering that moment is always so… hopeless. The terror lies not in his strength, but his ability. Legend states he has the ultimate dream capability, freely switching between dreams and reality, making dreams become reality…”

The fire in the fireplace gradually dissipated, and in the minimalistic living room, Ivan slowly stood up, remained silent for a moment before waving his hand.

The door behind him opened, and a female slowly entered, with a cold expression.

“Gloria, I must go to Mexico. The remaining tasks will be in your hands. The executive’s wishes are to avoid major conflict with humans when possible, but remember, everything must prioritize our interests.”

“Understood, brother.”

Ivan then turned to look at Gloria, with no emotional waves in his heart, “Do not cause trouble for me, lowly hybrid. If you don’t want your mother to bear more punishment, redeem yourself well.”

“Yes, brother.”

She remained cold, expressionless.

…

…

The camp had been set up early, and the area near the manor was marked as a forbidden zone, with soldiers patrolling.

In two days, much of the wreckage on the surface of the castle had been cleared, but there was no deep excavation underground, which was the government’s intention.

No one cared why many Song family personnel appeared at such a place, because indeed, this place belonged to the Song family.

In the Song family’s secret village, talents were cultivated in various areas, those suitable for combat were incorporated into ‘Iris’, while some specialized talents were sent to important departments for nurturing—including the military.

But the camp set up around the castle was only a surface smoke screen, the real team carrying out exploration and excavation of the castle dungeon maze was another group.

Led by Mr. Blind and Song Haoran, with the Song Big Three Brothers, and twenty elite members of ‘Iris’.

The entrance they used was the secret passage leading to the treasure vault, which the Song Big Three Brothers used to escape at the time.

The treasure vault was not affected by the collapse of the entire underground maze; when Song Haoran and his group infiltrated, it was still relatively intact.

Gold, silver, jewels, and antiques shone brightly with the lighting tools brought by the group, Song Haoran casually whistled and smiled, “I should have brought a girlfriend.”

For Song Haoran, adventure, beauty, and treasure are romantic things.

Oni rolled his eyes, casually picking up a string of jewels to hang around his neck, looking as vulgar as possible, then was kicked hard by Lluvia.

Mr. Blind said calmly at this time, “Be alert, there are large amounts of death air here, according to Song Da’s descriptions, there are quite a number of zombies hidden here.”

Oni and Lluvia began to restrain themselves—the village had many instructors teaching various arts, but Mr. Blind would not participate in any courses, yet everyone in the village hoped to spend more time beside Mr. Blind… because his occasional pointers could be immensely beneficial.

Old Master Song was an inevitable object of loyalty, while Mr. Blind was an inevitable object of respect.

“Let’s split up and explore.” Song Haoran began commanding, “Mister Song Da, Mister Song Er, you two take fifteen people; Mister Song San will follow with me and the remaining to go with Mr. Blind, how about it?”

Mr. Blind nodded, “Alright.”

The Song Big Three Brothers also nodded at this moment, having no objections to Song Haoran’s allocation. This way, there were people in both teams familiar with the Dungeon Maze.

Song Da and Song Er quickly led their men, opened the treasure vault’s door, and went up the spiral staircase.

As for Mr. Blind, he didn’t take action; instead, he sat down and began meditating. According to him, he was sensing the source of the Breath of Death.

Mr. Blind mentioned this place was a Feng Shui treasure land, suitable for corpse-raising. But Feng Shui treasure lands aren’t permanent; they can gather and disperse naturally. Such lands suitable for corpse-raising are better destroyed than preserved.

Suddenly, Mr. Blind shouted sternly, “Who?”

His voice had a sharpness to it, causing pain in the listeners’ ears. Mr. Blind quickly stood up, coldly snorted, and with a wave of his hand, sent a flash of cold light.

The cold light seemed to pierce something in the air, finally stopping at the wall—a shadow.

The shadow of a person, at that moment, was pinned by the Bronze Ancient Sword. In an instant, the shadow moved from the wall, swiftly fleeing through the treasure vault’s door.

“Song San, you stay.” Mr. Blind instructed promptly and then chased in the direction of the fleeing shadow.

Seeing Mr. Blind’s agile moves, Song San couldn’t help but sigh, “Is this guy really blind…?”

“Everyone, be cautious; there may be other enemies. Be on full alert.” Song Haoran sternly instructed and fully activated his extraordinary Perception.

The group tightly gripped their modern weapons, spreading out to observe the surroundings.

Suddenly, Song Haoran opened his eyes, waved his arm, and a gunshot rang out, shocking everyone into turning their gun barrels.

But the spot Song Haoran suddenly shot at was just a wooden box filled with gold and jewels. Song Haoran gave Oni a knowing glance, and Oni cautiously approached.

“Nothing, just a spider.” Oni quickly turned back, using the barrel of his gun to prod out the spider’s corpse.

The spider was quite large, bigger than a tarantula, but its body had been torn by bullets—Oni glanced at Song Haoran’s marksmanship with admiration.

If the strategist joined the rankings, he would probably be the number one shooter not just in South America… but perhaps the entire world.

Seeing it was just a spider, Song Haoran seemed to relax, slowly lowering his arm… yet at that instant, a stirring feeling surged within him, causing him to look up.

It was another spider… no, a massive spider!

“Spider!!!”

Someone shouted in panic as Song Haoran instinctively looked down, realizing that somewhere in the treasure vault, a swarm of spiders had emerged.

And the source of panic came from… a warrior in the village!

He saw the warrior’s body completely covered by spiders, lying on the ground, struggling continuously—the spiders swarmed over him like a small mound, compressing him bit by bit.

The warrior’s screams had stopped, and when the spiders left his body, only clothes and equipment remained.

But within a blink, the warrior was completely devoured!

“Here too! Here… here as well!!”

The terrifying spiders swarming from all sides quickly forced everyone to gather together. At this time, Song San was sweating profusely—facing zombies, he could take on dozens alone, but against these spiders, he had no effective means. At this moment, martial arts were no match for firearms.

Machine guns began to wildly sweep the area, trying to fend off the spiders. However, the sheer number was overwhelming, and the not-so-powerful firepower couldn’t stop these spiders’ advance.

Moreover, there was a more terrifying giant spider overhead, its eight shimmering eyes constantly staring at Song Haoran and the others below.

“How many monsters does this cursed place breed!” Song San cursed angrily, grabbing a grenade with his hand, biting off the safety pin, and hurling it fiercely!

Rumble—!!

Ahead, the explosion ripped through, blasting many spiders into bloody pieces, but also opening a path to the treasure vault door.

“Go! Close the vault door.” Song San shouted.

The group frantically rushed forward, but the giant spider above had already moved—it quickly shot out a stream of spider silk, hitting a warrior’s back and wrapping him up entirely.

The warrior fell to the ground, and the silk-wrapped body was pulled away!

“Dammit!”

The huge spider shot out silk again, not only binding a few Song Family warriors but also ensnaring Song San.

Song San desperately tried to tear off the silk, but the strands were as tough as steel cables, and even he, as a Martial Artist, couldn’t break them!

His body was pulled up.

“Ah!”

“Ah—!!”

Like fish being reeled in, the enormous spider above was like a fisherman, effortlessly ‘hooking’ away one person after another.

Within five meters of the door, only Song Haoran and Lluvia remained. Song Haoran grabbed Lluvia’s hand, seeing the door right in front, perhaps just a second away.

But just then, a massive pulling force from behind caused Lluvia’s hand to slip from Song Haoran’s grip.

Lluvia was also taken by the giant spider—from his hand.

Song Haoran gritted his teeth, glanced at the door right in front, then suddenly turned, grabbing the ‘Sun God Badge’ on his body, and once again fully activated his Perception.

In the constructed three-dimensional world within the darkness, he ‘saw’ the figures being suspended… still alive, with heartbeats.

But then, where was the giant spider?

Suddenly, a stinging pain drilled into Song Haoran’s brain, nearly causing him to lose breath.

A sharp limb… the giant spider’s claw, pierced from behind him, traversed through his back from the front of his chest!
