Chapter 883: Chapter 127: Forget Worry, Three Lives (10)

People are not perfect; always flawed. Thus, they appear lively and tangible, allowing you to feel that they aren’t distant, enabling you to have such realizations as ‘Oh, they behave like this too.’

But if you put Zhong Luoyue’s situation on the bloodsucker template, then it gets interesting… This Miss Zhong might not be entirely aware of her transformation—after all, it’s a gradual process, but she will slowly come to understand it.

Yet Luo Qiu knows that the change in life form cannot escape his eyes that are constantly observing the Black and White world.

A soon-to-be bloodsucker destined not to live under the sun, yet feeling uneasy in the dark…

Luo Qiu didn’t know why he chuckled at that moment, maybe because he found the situation somewhat amusing. But Zhong Luoyue didn’t just think, she felt it might be a kind of ridicule.

Does everyone have a vulnerable side they don’t want others to know, and once discovered, would they get angry and embarrassed?

Zhong Luoyue wouldn’t assert, because there might exist people who don’t mind exposing their vulnerabilities—but evidently, she herself is not one of them.

Of course, she wouldn’t rage with embarrassment, for she clearly understands when it’s the right time to make a fuss and when it’s not—like now, meaningless arguments would only waste the time for escape.

“I’m feeling much better, thank you.” Not arguing, but she wasn’t genuinely joyful, Zhong Luoyue’s complexion appeared slightly improved, but also a bit colder.

Luo Qiu nodded and pondered for a moment before taking out a power bank and charging cable to hand over to Zhong Luoyue—Zhong Luoyue was unsure of where exactly Luo Qiu fetched it from, maybe his waistband?

“Here, hold onto this.” After handing over the items, Luo Qiu said, “I’m going ahead.”

Like a traveler, who after passing through a small tribe leaves behind some items and then departs.

Zhong Luoyue had a feeling that he would go far, very far—this guy, has no intention of forming a team with her?

When Luo Qiu turned to leave, after a few steps, Zhong Luoyue realized it—that the other party truly intends to team up.

“Wait.” She had to speak out to stop him.

Since she could remember, the occasions when Zhong Luoyue actively spoke to retain a man were few and almost always focused on a few males from her direct family members—an outsider, this was the first time.

“Anything else?” Luo Qiu turned around, “Oh… the power bank is fully charged, rest assured.”

“Not that!” Zhong Luoyue quickly shook her head… Why are the concerns of this guy about such trivial matters? His wavelength is so odd!

“Follow along, then.” Luo Qiu suddenly said.

Zhong Luoyue felt her ears burning—she indeed had such a thought, just didn’t know how to articulate it. She was accustomed to negotiating with people, stating various interest relationships, and then reaching a consensus with the opposite party, but never had such a situation.

The thought in her mind was unexpectedly exposed by someone.

She could only nod and then quietly followed along, simultaneously realizing one thing—this young man named Luo Qiu, probably isn’t someone easy to deal with.

She couldn’t help but think of Song Ying, with that girl’s character, probably has suffered quite a lot of covert losses from Luo Qiu already.

“How did you get separated from Song Ying?” Zhong Luoyue broke the silence of just footsteps on the scene.

“They didn’t come down,” Luo Qiu casually said, “Still outside, currently safe, don’t worry.”

Zhong Luoyue suddenly sneered: “Song Ying, that woman, arranged for people to block me at the airport. If I hadn’t prepared beforehand, I’d probably be lying in the hospital now; why should I worry about her?”

Luo Qiu said, “Would you rather lie in a hospital or come here?”

“Of course…” Zhong Luoyue was stunned, suddenly realizing if it was just a car crash landing her in the hospital, it would be a thousand times better than being here.

Song Ying couldn’t possibly really want her dead; that would only bring about the Zhong Family’s furious revenge. She could only let her suffer a bit… This is almost the rule of tomb-robbing family feuds; unless things reach an irreconcilable point, no one would break the till-the-end scenario.

Yet Zhong Luoyue wasn’t willing to let Luo Qiu dominate the topic so easily, coldly saying: “That means, did she know what was happening here all along? Should I be grateful to her?”

“Her? She’s actually quite fuzzy.” Luo Qiu shook his head: “I don’t mean to make you grateful to her. Actually, if nothing happened here, it wouldn’t naturally result in the situation you are in now, which seems bad but is instead beneficial. It can only be said, it’s fate’s irregularity.”

“Using irregularity to describe fate?” Zhong Luoyue was somewhat quirky: “You are indeed the first one… Wait, you just said Song Ying isn’t here?”

She seemed to subconsciously sigh with relief and then felt such a notion was a bit inappropriate, but on careful thinking, it was relieving—if Song Ying wasn’t here and was outside, when sensing something off, she might bring people in for rescue, which would not be a bad thing.

“She was feeling unwell and fell asleep upstairs.” Luo Qiu casually said.

“…” Zhong Luoyue opened her mouth feeling odd, in just a few minutes, this guy has made her emotions fluctuate several times already.

Really want to get angry!

“So who are you looking for?” Trying to calm herself, Zhong Luoyue thought her self-cultivation shouldn’t break so easily.

“An older kid.” Luo Qiu gently said, “Was entrusted to take care of… hmm.”

Luo Qiu said this and suddenly shifted his gaze, watching the darkness in front of the passage. Zhong Luoyue was startled by his action, hurriedly asked nervously: “What did you find? Is it… zombies?”

Luo Qiu shook his head, just gesturing for silence.

Zhong Luoyue quietly held the lipstick ceramic gun hidden in her clothes bag, focused equally on watching ahead—only to see a faint blue light suddenly born within the darkness, flashing, slowly flying towards them.

“A butterfly?”

What surprised Zhong Luoyue was, from the darkness ahead flew a beautiful butterfly twinkling with blue light… Why would butterflies appear in such a place?

The butterfly quickly flew to Luo Qiu and eventually stopped on his index finger, folding its wings.

This was precisely the Goddess of Light Flash Butterfly that followed Luo Qiu down from above.

After the butterfly stopped, it suddenly resumed flying, circling Luo Qiu several times—honestly, in such a dim environment, this constantly fluttering blue light butterfly is truly beautiful.

Luo Qiu asked, “Do you want to lead me somewhere?”

The butterfly suddenly flew away, flying forward effortlessly, Luo Qiu, without thinking much, directly followed after it.

…

…

The manor, inside the ancient castle.

A few men dressed in black clothes were briskly walking down the corridor, their presence a fixture in this ancient castle.

Of course, they weren’t servants; they were individuals with a certain level of combat skills.

Soon, they stopped in front of a door in the corridor. One of the men reached out to twist the door lock, but it wouldn’t budge. Another took out a key and inserted it, yet it still wouldn’t turn.

“Let me try,” the third man said, shaking his head. He took out a handgun and, without a second thought, fired at the door lock.

Without a doubt, the bullet should have demolished the lock — that was what they believed.

However, something unimaginable happened. When the bullet struck the lock, there was only a loud bang. After that, the bullet veered off and hit the floor.

The men exchanged glances, utterly dumbfounded. The one who fired refused to give up, shooting several more times at the lock, even taking a shot at the door itself.

Yet none of the bullets inflicted any damage on the door… they all fell powerlessly to the floor.

They looked as though they’d seen a ghost.

They weren’t there for amusement; they were following orders to appear. According to the multiple surveillance cameras installed throughout the castle, Miss Song from the Song Family should be inside this room.

The surveillance showed them entering, but they hadn’t come out — only a young man had exited.

The men frowned and quickly opened the neighboring room’s door, climbing out onto the terrace, intending to enter from the outside. However, when they reached the terrace of the concealed room — indeed, they saw a number of women lying on the sofa, seemingly unconscious, yet they couldn’t get in.

The clearly open sliding glass door, nothing visibly there, but something invisible blocked them… they knocked on the air, discovering an unseen but extraordinarily solid barrier.

Again, the shooter, stubbornly shot, and this time… the bullet froze mid-air.

Their eyes widened as the bullet suddenly reflected back, grazing past one of them’s ear, leaving him clutching a blood-soaked ear.

They looked at the scene in horror, hastily grabbing the phone, exclaiming, “Uncle Jin… something strange is happening here…”

…

“An unbreakable door, reflecting bullets?”

Uncle Jin listened to the phone, suddenly standing up… He was still in Tu Shenyi’s lab, but not in that pure white room. Uncle Jin furrowed his brow and said, “I understand, have the injured treated, the rest stay and keep a close watch. If anything stirs inside, report immediately.”

Uncle Jin hung up the phone, paced back and forth with his head bowed, deep in thought.

They were ordinary people, unacquainted with supernatural powers… Undoubtedly, the room probably concealed such powers.

Uncle Jin had seen the young man accompanying Miss Song from the Song Family, effortlessly obliterate the entire room of zombies…

“What is the origin of this Transcendent…” Uncle Jin sat down again, murmuring to himself, “Could he be a bloodsucker like Lady Eve and others? But why did he come here? Could it be…”

Uncle Jin’s expression changed abruptly, as he thought of a possibility — he knew much about the True Blood plan, much more about how it had to be halted abruptly to avoid detection by the bloodsuckers of the Thirteen Clans.

“Could it be, he’s actually sent by the Thirteen Clans…”

Thinking of this greatest possibility brought a cold sweat to Uncle Jin’s forehead, he quickly glanced at a computer screen nearby, on it, Tu Shenyi was in contact with Xitacil.

“There’s no time…” Uncle Jin bit his teeth, resolutely taking out several test tubes.

The liquid inside these test tubes came from various ‘Forget Worry’ Series samples.

Uncle Jin swiftly moved to an apparatus, inserting the test tubes into it… One by one, pipettes quickly extracted the liquid, beginning to transfuse it into the internals of the apparatus.

Simultaneously, Uncle Jin was rapidly setting a series of complex parameters on the control panel of the apparatus.

“Only have one chance… it must succeed!” Uncle Jin’s eyes showed a crazed light… the look of a gambler making his final bet.

…

Upon entering, it was more evident, Xitacil held a long whip of blood-red light in his hand, bristling with embedded spikes.

But it wasn’t an energy body; it was a tangible object radiating a red glow, resembling a kind of red vine.

The steel door, on the brink of being breached, suddenly opened, but at that moment, Xitacil didn’t halt, instead, he swung the blood whip even faster, aiming inside the door.

Inside the door stood Tu Shenyi.

As the blood whip swung toward him, Tu Shenyi stood still, until it was about to lash onto him, something from his body resisted, instantly rebounding it away.

“Sorry, I couldn’t hold back,” Xitacil said, eyeing Tu Shenyi with an enchanting smile.

Tu Shenyi stood with his hands behind his back, calm as ever, “Xitacil, rather than fiddling with your new pet, why are you here causing trouble.”

“I just came to check on the progress of the True Blood creation.” Xitacil shrugged, “As the major investor in the True Blood plan, I merely want to check the progress, is that not alright?”

Tu Shenyi gave him a slight look, “The progress is fine, no need to worry.”

Xitacil sneered, “Seems there’s a lot of little critters added in the basement, are they for entertainment?”

“Certainly for entertainment.”

Xitacil continued to sneer, “You even unleashed that batch of zombies your ancestor hid here, quite an extravagant performance. They’re so frenzied, they might attack even us, don’t you know that?”

“You’re doing fine now, aren’t you?” Tu Shenyi nonchalantly tidied his sleeves, dismissively said, “If there’s nothing else, go back, I need to continue my work.”

Yet Xitacil directly stepped over the steel door, entering inside, “Tu Shenyi, there’s something else I don’t understand… your powers have grown significantly. Normally, Karen, who gave you the First Embrace, is just of the same generation as me… how do you manage that? Karen isn’t here this time, only Three Lifetimes was sent to me… so, I was pondering.”

Xitacil’s eyes narrowed, “Tu Shenyi, did you ‘consume’ Karen after all?”

“Don’t you know in your heart?” Tu Shenyi asked abruptly.

Xitacil was taken aback, frowning, “You say that quite interestingly, turning around to question me, what should I know? I’m actually quite enraged!”

“Wasn’t it you…” Tu Shenyi muttered, calmly said, “Well, since you’re here, I might as well deal with you.”
