Chapter 861: Chapter 105: A Guest from Afar

Holding high the Dimensional Observation Force that had been stripped from Caroline, You Ye appeared solemn and focused at this moment.

Suddenly, the large door split open from the middle as a bright light burst forth—the door, naturally formed, opened at once.

As the door opened, You Ye directly closed her eyes, avoiding looking at what lay inside it. A strong airflow rushed out from within, blowing You Ye’s hair backward and causing her dress to cling tightly to her body.

The origin of power cradled in her palms floated outward slowly, against the wind, drifting into the doorway.

As the origin of power, representing the Dimensional Observation Force, passed through the doorway, the door immediately closed with a heavy sound.

The strong airflow ceased as a result, and only then did You Ye slowly open her eyes. She did not leave immediately but instead lowered her hands, facing herself, before crossing them in front of her chest, bending slightly.

It was like a special courtesy when taking leave.

…

Luo Qiu suddenly stopped what he was doing, sat upright, and closed his eyes.

Prior to this, he hadn’t been doing much, merely browsing Elder Song’s collection of books. But his demeanor at this moment looked peculiar, so much so that Gan Hong promptly put down the comic book she had been reading.

Gan Hong hesitated, slowly moving in front of Luo Qiu, observing his immobile state. She tried to reach out her hand, intending to pat Luo Qiu’s shoulder but ultimately retreated from such an impolite idea.

“Young Master Qiu?” Gan Hong softly called out.

Luo Qiu opened his eyes at this moment, “Is there something you need?”

“No.” Gan Hong shook her head in confusion, “Nothing… Would you like me to pour you some water?”

“Sure.” Luo Qiu smiled faintly, stood up, first putting the book back on the shelf, and then he walked out of the study to the yard outside, seemingly intending to breathe in some fresh air.

Gan Hong watched Luo Qiu strangely but still lowered her head, carrying the teapot, quickly walking away from him, thus missing Luo Qiu’s self-talk.

Luo Qiu glanced at the sky outside the yard, contemplative, “Dimensional Observation… Is this one of the reasons we can obtain future information?”

You Ye’s sacrifice was somewhat unexpected… But also because of this, Luo Qiu knew his vacation would be extended considerably.

“Being a wealthy ordinary person isn’t bad.” Luo Qiu smiled slightly, “I hope you can become wealthy inside as well… Miss Caroline.”

Luo Qiu suddenly fetched some water from the side, sprinkling it on the bonsai planted in the yard, seemingly in a good mood.

“Quite leisurely.” Song Ying’s voice came from the hallway at the entrance, she walked briskly to Luo Qiu, “Looks like you’re all set.”

“Not much preparation, really.” Luo Qiu put down the watering can, “You’re the one who prepared more, I did nothing. Thank you for arranging the etiquette teacher for me.”

“Can’t pinpoint exactly what’s perfect…” Song Ying mumbled.

“Hmm?”

“Nothing.” Song Ying waved her hand, “Since you’re ready, let’s set off. We’re going to the God of Gamblers’ vineyard now. The wine tasting event is at three in the afternoon. We need to arrive earlier to show sincerity.”

Luo Qiu nodded, “You handle the arrangements.”

Song Ying furrowed her brow, “Can’t you give some opinions? I’m not your exclusive secretary! This time Grandpa arranged for us to work together, at least do something useful.”

Luo Qiu thought for a moment, then seriously said, “How about I carry the bags for you later?”

So infuriating! Really want to beat this guy up!

Song Ying clenched her fists, struggling to suppress the irritation in her heart, then clapped her hands forcefully in front of Luo Qiu, the sound was very loud.

As Song Ying clapped her hands, several young servants swiftly approached down the hallway, three men and three women, all with excellent temperaments. They each held different items. Following them was a flamboyantly dressed white man in his thirties, holding scissors and carrying various tools—like a barber.

Clothing, shoes, and socks.

Luo Qiu blinked, only to see Song Ying waving her hand, directing these servants, “Dress this Young Master Qiu! And change the hairstyle while you’re at it.”

“Yes, Miss Ying!” they responded in unison.

And so, Luo Qiu blinked again, promptly surrounded and ushered into the room by the group, while Song Ying let out a heavy breath, rubbing her forehead in the courtyard.

“Miss Ying?” Gan Hong carrying a water-filled teapot returned, saw Song Ying, and greeted respectfully.

She glanced inside the room at Luo Qiu being ‘handled’ by the servants, roughly discerning what was happening, “This…”

Song Ying suddenly walked up to Gan Hong, reached out to lift Gan Hong’s collar, casually said, “You should change clothes too. I’ve prepared them for you in the room next door.”

“Thank you, Miss Ying.” Gan Hong nodded.

“No need to be so polite.” Song Ying frowned.

“I’ll go change now.” Gan Hong turned and walked away.

“Wait…” The words of persuasion were left unfinished as Song Ying watched Gan Hong disappear at the hallway’s end… Her phone suddenly rang.

“I’m Song Ying, say it quickly… What, that woman has arrived?” Song Ying impatiently replied but heard the message from the other end of the call… She immediately frowned, “Alright, I know. Keep a close watch, watch her closely!”

“You seem to be in poor spirits, has something bad happened?”

The voice of Luo Qiu came from behind, and Song Ying turned reflexively, displeased, “None of your… business.”

The Luo Qiu before her had already changed into a brand-new suit, and the stylist had used his superb skills to quickly swap out Luo Qiu’s hairstyle for a fresh one.

For some reason, Song Ying suddenly recalled the etiquette teacher’s evaluation of him.

“Hmm… Is there something wrong?”

Luo Qiu looked at himself… He couldn’t really tell good from bad, as clothes were always matched by You Ye.

In recent days at Han Residence, he was actually wearing whatever was comfortable, just as if at home… Except perhaps too much wax was applied to his hair.

“It’s alright, passable.” Song Ying holding her arms, raised her chin, added, “So-so!”

With that, Song Ying swiftly turned away, “Hurry up if your clothes are changed, the car is ready.”

At this moment, Gan Hong had also changed into a light blue dress, Gan Hong squatted briefly, glanced around, and hurried out.

Gan Hong couldn’t help but cast a questioning look at Luo Qiu, yet upon seeing Young Master Qiu’s new outfit, found it somewhat hard to look away.

Undoubtedly, she is currently the person in the Han Residence who has been in contact with Luo Qiu for the longest time… In Gan Hong’s understanding, if this Young Master Qiu were judged solely by appearance, he wouldn’t measure up to those truly handsome guys.

But when you look closely, you find that after one glance, you want a second, and after a second, you can’t help but take another. As you keep looking, you’ll notice that your gaze will unknowingly ignore many other things, leaving only this figure.

“Actually, this suits you quite well.” Luo Qiu complimented casually.

Gan Hong knew this wasn’t flattery; a few days of interaction had made her understand that Luo Qiu is someone who doesn’t speak insincerely—a person who follows his heart.

When others give compliments, there are always some hidden meanings and perhaps deliberate intentions, but he… compliments simply because he appreciates something.

Gan Hong smiled slightly, revealing a small canine tooth, “Thank you.”

…

…

In the same city, at the airport.

In the first-class cabin of a flight from Hua Country that had just arrived at the port.

A young man in a casual suit glanced at the woman in the seat next to him—his superior, with vast influence in Hua Country, the third daughter of the Zhong Family, Zhong Luoyue.

His name was A Jie, a disciple of the God of Gamblers, Tu Shenyi, and his closed-door disciple. He began roaming the world five years ago, and people in the community later gave him a nickname: Little God of Gamblers.

Over a year ago, after winning an important competition for Zhong Luoyue, A Jie stayed with Zhong Luoyun’s Four Seasons Group.

He undeniably liked the woman beside him—yet he knew, no matter his achievements at the gambling table, he could never touch this woman.

“Les Miserables… is this book any good?” A Jie looked at Zhong Luoyue’s profile.

South America’s climate is different from Hua Country’s current weather, so Zhong Luoyue was dressed lightly. Hearing him, she closed the book cover in her hand and said calmly, “It’s nothing, just that a brother of mine recently enjoys reading it, so I’m taking a look. Whether it’s good or not, it depends on the person.”

A Jie shrugged. Besides being a gambling expert, he was also a playboy, “I still think you’re more attractive, and it’s for you.”

A Jie slowly opened his palm, revealing a rose folded from a napkin used during the plane’s meal service.

Zhong Luoyue accepted it casually, “Thank you… We’ve arrived, let’s get off the plane.”

Saying that she left her seat, and casually placed the napkin-rose into a water cup.

It’s said that napkins are among the most absorbent materials. In an instant, the paper rose melted in the cold water.

A Jie felt dazed for a moment, then adjusted his clothes and stood up as well… He glanced out the window, the tarmac seemed endless, a city he once stayed in.

Actually, he would return here every New Year, to find Tu Shenyi, and share a New Year’s meal with him.

A Jie was an orphan, and the God of Gamblers, Tu Shenyi, besides being his teacher, was also like family… He didn’t know if bringing Zhong Luoyue here was the right decision.

He just wanted his teacher to meet this woman.

“Anything else?” At the exit, Zhong Luoyue paused, turned her face, “If not, let’s go. This is Song Family’s territory; don’t linger too long at the airport.”

A Jie quickly followed, saying beside Zhong Luoyue, “Don’t worry, my master won’t make a move again.”

Zhong Luoyue replied, “There’s no such thing as absolutes in this world, only probabilities.”

A Jie said, “It doesn’t matter, even if Miss Song manages to move my master, I can turn a good thing into a bad one. My master’s temperament isn’t known to outsiders. If they only rely on some rumors to get close and please him, they might make a fool of themselves.”

“Let’s go.” Zhong Luoyue just nodded, looked up at the sky, overcast yet stuffy.

“It’s probably going to rain, coastal areas have more rain, it’s quite normal.” A Jie casually remarked.

“Cooler would be better.” Zhong Luoyue walked straight out of the cabin and quickly got into a car waiting outside the airport.

…

At this moment, just as two black private cars left the airport shortly, several other cars quickly approached on the road.

In these private cars, all uniformly dressed in black, the men wore headsets for real-time communication.

“Target about to exit the highway, prepare to intercept. Miss Ying said, in any case, don’t let them leave the suburbs. Fail, and you’re all fired!”

“Received! Received! I didn’t even have time to give the visitor a welcome gift!”

So, as the two private cars from the airport had just passed the toll booth and were about to enter the city, several trailing cars suddenly surrounded them.

“The other party has accelerated, looks like they’ve noticed!”

“Hey! Just a minor issue!”

In the streets, a speed chase began to unfold… But many pedestrians seemed accustomed, with some even taking out phones to record.

Suddenly, a loud gunshot rang out, the front fleeing car had its tire blown out and veered uncontrollably into a roadside lamppost.

The vehicle behind couldn’t brake in time and crashed into it.

At this time, the trailing cars quickly stopped, several men in black suits got out and rushed to the two crashed cars to check.

They quickly pulled people out of the cars, but didn’t find who they were looking for. A man in a black suit’s face changed slightly, “Not good, it’s a trap!”

He angrily kicked the crashed car, picked up the phone apprehensively, “Sorry, Miss Ying, we lost them…”

…

A blue Porsche was racing down the cobblestone streets at this moment.

The driver was A Jie, and he tapped his Bluetooth earpiece, quickly addressing Zhong Luoyue beside him, “Miss Zhong, your people have said goodbye.”

“No problem, as long as we get there on time,” Zhong Luoyue said calmly, “Are you familiar with this area?”

A Jie replied, “From thirteen to nineteen, I’ve lived here all the time. Although the Song Family is an emperor here, even an emperor wouldn’t go into the sewer to find rats… Rest assured, we’ll only be early, never late.”

“Alright.” Zhong Luoyue slowly closed her eyes to rest.

Although it’s daylight, she’s come from Hua Country, spanning half the world, time difference certainly exists. She hadn’t rested for almost a day and night.
