Chapter 859: Chapter 103: Lies of the Mainland (6)

‘Gabriel’ slowly walked into the clock tower’s engine room, circling around the quietly standing Maid.

It sighed, “No matter how many times, I am always amazed by human creativity. Alchemy is indeed a discipline that nearly approaches the truth. Just considering this body, it’s truly a rare treasure.”

You Ye gently clasped her hands, gazing forward, unmoved, like a maiden practicing etiquette.

“For several centuries, indeed for more than ten centuries, I’ve been pondering the same question.” ‘Gabriel’ stopped in front of You Ye, gazing into her deep blue eyes, and slowly said, “Who are you, where do you come from, what exactly do you want to do?”

“This shop is merely in the business of making transactions.” You Ye smiled.

‘Gabriel’ shook his head and sighed, “I have talked with the Buddhas of the Western Heaven, seen the incredible rulers of Heaven. I’ve been to the end of the Ganges River, asked the rulers of the sky… we, none of us, have a unified conclusion. We do not know your origin.”

“Does the guest intend to know this information?” You Ye still smiled.

‘Gabriel’ shook his head again, “I don’t want to add any extra expenditure… After all, the time until the next payment is running out. Each Prayer Aggregator is indescribably precious to me, they are something I cannot let go.”

‘Gabriel’ sighed once more, a look of pity on its face, “In fact, each time I personally send them out, I endure a human-like heart-wrenching pain because they are all my children. Is he… doing well?”

“That gentleman has already stepped down from the Club Owner position.” You Ye said calmly, “Now I have a new master.”

‘Gabriel’ was silent for a moment… It suddenly gathered its sleeves, “Is that so, changed again… No wonder you seem more lively than the last time we met, it’s because of the new Club Owner, right?”

“It is quite impolite to speak about my master behind their back.” You Ye said calmly.

‘Gabriel’ smiled slightly, then suddenly said, “There is something, a few months ago, there was originally supposed to be a new Prayer Aggregator ascending to heaven, but for some reason, they disappeared in the end. I sent an Angel down to investigate this matter. However, in the end, even this Angel went missing… Ultimately, we found an ancient monastery in the Mortal World completely destroyed. All we found among the ruins was an Inverted Cross.”

“The Inverted Cross is the mark of the Black Religious Congregation, the guest should know, so why ask?”

‘Gabriel’ nodded, “The monastery had some things stolen, I roughly know why. I just don’t understand why the Prayer Aggregator’s Soul disappeared.”

“One that hasn’t ascended to heaven, can they be considered a Prayer Aggregator?” The Maid suddenly retorted.

‘Gabriel’ paced a moment, then seemed to suddenly realize something as he looked outside the clock tower, “Thank you for being lenient with Lucifer’s subordinates. She doesn’t know much, and inevitably has some prejudices… You were once brothers and sisters, if possible, I hope you can take that into consideration.”

“That depends on the level of offense to my master.” The Maid’s voice grew increasingly calm.

‘Gabriel’ shook his head, waved his hand, and said, “Let’s not talk about this matter… the duration of my descent should not be too long. You probably have something to attend to here, I’ve sensed there are individuals around here tainted with your presence.”

“It’s nothing, just a customer who made a transaction.” You Ye said calmly, “My new master prefers to follow up with customers.”

‘Gabriel’ said no more, nodded, “Time is up, I will visit your new master personally. Thank you for your help this time, allowing me to smoothly retrieve Noah… Then, please send my regards to the new Club Owner.”

‘Gabriel’ slowly closed its eyes, then as if something was stripped away from its body… It suddenly kneeled on the ground, assuming a fatigued posture, while also returning to its original beautiful form.

Gabriel slowly propped up his body, looked around, frowning, “Father told me to stay away from you and not even to conflict with you… Why? Who are you?”

The Maid gently lifted her skirt, paused towards Gabriel, then smiled and turned to leave, only leaving these words, “Then listen to your father.”

Until the Maid slowly walked down the stairs, Gabriel made no movement, completely following the guidance of ‘Father,’ never doing anything contrary to ‘Father’s will.

Gabriel stepped back into the corridor outside the clock tower’s engine room, spread his hands, letting the body naturally fall from the top of the clock tower, and at the moment when the body nearly fell halfway, six pairs of gleaming wings suddenly unfolded, guiding Gabriel towards a direction in the city’s outskirts.

‘Father’ said there is a small monastery over there.

…

…

How does the saying go?

Evil cannot possibly triumph in the school map against students—because students with strong hands-on abilities can crush all villains with absolute map advantage.

But Caroline doesn’t think she’s a villain at all?

In the complex terrain of the school building, Caroline was hiding in a classroom, terrified and curling up her body. However, at this moment, the light in the corridor outside suddenly turned on.

“Caroline!! Come out!!”

Outside came Harry’s beast-like roar—and the loud sound of him kicking every door as he walked, “I know you’re here! Come out!”

Caroline had no choice but to cover her ears.

Bam—!

Another door was frantically kicked open by Harry, who stormed into the classroom, wildly messing around with everything inside—tables, chairs, podiums that his eyes could see.

The sound of destruction was so close… Caroline shrank her neck in horror, for Harry was in the classroom right across from hers… In the next instant, would he break in?

Caroline quickly took the stun rod hidden in her underwear from her collar, trembling as she held it in her hand—yet at this moment, it suddenly became quiet outside.

No, it should be said that after a sentence was spoken, it suddenly became quiet outside.

“Have you had enough of your fuss!”

…

“Have you had enough of your fuss—!!”

Upon hearing this sentence, Harry slowly turned around, only to see Arno and Boston standing outside the door. The moment Harry saw Arno, his face turned a bit pale, clutching the handle of the Xiao Dao tightly.

Arno swiftly walked in, took off his glasses with a hand, and kicked Harry in the abdomen, knocking him to the ground.

Boston rolled his eyes—he never understood why Arno seemed like a nightmare to Harry, even when Harry was extremely agitated, he would become frightened by a cold glance from Arno… But Harry suddenly scrambled up, this time!

The Xiao Dao in Harry’s hand suddenly slashed at Arno, cutting a gash in Arno’s arm—which surprised Boston, as this was the time Harry dared to make a move against Arno.

“You stabbed me with a knife?” Arno looked at the wound on his arm, blood dripping, then suddenly looked up and stared at Harry, “You want to kill me?”

“I…”

The Xiao Dao suddenly fell from Harry’s hand, he trembled and retreated two steps: “I didn’t… I’m not… I just accidentally…”

Arno took a step towards Harry, slapped his palm on Harry’s face, “You want to kill me?”

“I’m not…”

Arno slapped him again, “You want to kill me?”

“I’m not… I really didn’t… I’m not, I’m not… I’m not…”

Arno didn’t stop, forcing him step by step, slapping Harry again and again, ultimately pinning Harry against the wall with nowhere to retreat, and only then did he grab Harry’s collar, “Did you forget who let you out of the cage? Did you forget who fed you? Did you forget who allowed you to see the light of day again? You freak!”

“I’m not! I’m not a freak! I’m not!” Harry desperately grabbed Arno’s hand, “Don’t call me a freak!”

“You’ve been a freak since you were a child!” At this moment, Arno pressed Harry’s head hard: “You were born a freak! Since childhood!! Do you forget how you tortured and killed the neighbor’s cats? You forget what happened when you were ten? Let me remind you? At night, you secretly sneaked into the neighbor’s house, waited for Mrs. Amm to fall asleep, and killed her by cutting her throat with a vegetable knife!”

“I didn’t… I’m not! I didn’t!”

“You did!!” Arno grabbed Harry’s head and fiercely smashed it towards the wall, “Not only did you kill her, but you also sliced her flesh into pieces! You were laughing, you were laughing! You were laughing at the time! Happily laughing! You freak!”

“I’m not…”

“You killed father! You killed mother!! You freak! You killed everyone!” Arno pressed Harry’s head with both hands and slammed his forehead against Harry’s, “Now, you still want to kill me! You freak!!”

“I’m not… I really didn’t…” Harry lowered his head: “I… I can’t control myself… I don’t know why… I can’t control myself… Caroline is mine… she’s mine, mine… she’s good to me, she’s mine…”

“No one will be good to you!” Arno grabbed Harry’s head again and slammed it into the wall.

This collision made Harry see stars, his head roaring, a guy slumped against the wall and sat down… only then did Arno let go of Harry. He glanced at the wound on his arm, directly tore apart his T-shirt, and wrapped it around his arm.

He squatted down, gently held Harry’s head, and whispered, “Listen, only I will be good to you, only I won’t lock you in a cage, only I will erase your sins. Only I… no matter how many people you kill, only I will forgive you. One Caroline, ten Carolines don’t compare to me… listen, you are me, my other half, remember this.”

Harry’s eyes were blank, letting Arno hold him, as if he had quieted down.

Seeing this, Boston couldn’t help but frown… this wasn’t what he had in mind. He suddenly squinted his eyes, glanced at the empty corridor, and suddenly pulled out a gun hidden in his belt.

Upon witnessing this, Caroline in the classroom immediately covered her mouth, fearing she might make any sound… what did she see? Boston intended to kill Arno and Harry… from behind?

The next second… will there be gunshots?

Caroline shrank her body in horror… one second passed, two seconds passed, three seconds passed.

Bang—!

Suddenly!

But it wasn’t gunfire, rather the sound of a door being forcefully opened… Caroline only felt her head being pressed by something hard, her body stiffened instantly, and she slowly raised her head, only to see a dark gun barrel pointed at her… it was Boston!

“Hey, babe, I’ve known you were hiding here to watch the show all along.”

Caroline suddenly turned on the stun stick, trying to zap Boston, but he kicked her away first. Boston grabbed Caroline’s neck, thrust the gun directly into her mouth, the hard muzzle stirring her mouth.

“Quiet down, you don’t want me to open a hole in you right now, do you?” Boston smirked coldly.

Caroline dared not move, breathing rapidly, her heart pounding wildly… death was so close, fear rendered her mind nearly blank.

“Hey BOSS, I found this woman here.” Boston called out towards the outside.

Arno let go of Harry, who leaned against the wall sitting, head down, resembling an empty shell… Arno walked over to look at Caroline, who was immobilized by Boston’s gun.

“When did you find her?” Arno glanced around, looking at the bag next to Caroline.

“Don’t kill me, don’t kill me…” Caroline cried out in terror, “I can give you everything, give you everything… please don’t kill me… all the money is yours… that bank card is yours… don’t kill me!”

Arno picked up the bag from the ground, dusting it off, placed it on the table, “Honestly, I don’t really like using such rough methods… see, I’m bleeding, I’m starting to dislike you.”

Arno opened the bag, inside were packaged foods and some fragments… also small sealed bags.

Pale blue powder.

“Really an insatiable woman.” Arno walked over to Caroline, waving his hand.

Boston understood, directly pressed Caroline onto the table, under the light, Arno stepped in front of Caroline, pinching her chin, leaned down and said, “I bled, you almost got me killed by him… killing you would be too easy. Suddenly I have a great idea… temporarily.”

Caroline struggled desperately, yet Arno grabbed the powder, stuffing handfuls into Caroline’s mouth.

“BOSS, isn’t this too wasteful?” Boston couldn’t help but say.

“So what do you want to do?” Arno said coldly, “Use a bullet or a rope? Then dump the body by the river? Let her consume this to death, leave the body here, let the police find it tomorrow to investigate! This can’t be covered up, society will pay attention, considering it happened on campus, even those politicians can’t save it! Those tycoons dealing in bath salts will be targeted! Once police sweep them clean, vacant turf will give us room to expand!”

“But… but we can’t sell it like this, no money, where is the room to expand?” Boston furrowed his brow.

Arno looked at the struggling Caroline, smirked coldly, “Funds? There’s plenty here… more than you can imagine… oh, the effect has kicked in.”

After continuously feeding the bath salts, Caroline’s face changed drastically, her eyes started rolling, her body caught in frenzied convulsions, suddenly collapsed on the ground, her nostrils began to bleed.

“Start packing things up,” Arno instructed.

Boston hesitated for a moment, ultimately chose to follow through… suddenly felt like devouring those bigwigs’ turf presented a promising future… Arno, perhaps has his use.

He walked to Harry’s side, helped Harry up, Arno quickly wiped away the blood stains left when he was injured, restored the classroom to its original state, and closed the doors, only then glanced at Caroline, retrieved the bank card from her, then quickly said, “Let’s go, the patrol must have heard the commotion…”

“Save… save me…”

Before leaving, Caroline held tightly onto Harry’s calf… This might be the last surge of strength she could muster for survival.

Harry trembled slightly, looked down at Caroline’s pleading face, pale-faced, ultimately carried away by Boston.

“Save… save…”

She could only watch their departing steps, gradually distancing… Caroline felt her brain was on the verge of exploding, her whole body was burning like flames, the rushing blood beneath her skin with her veins swelling—when these extreme pains reached a certain limit, Caroline suddenly opened her eyes.

Her pupils had vanished, replaced entirely with white eyeballs, a strange force was now lifting her body, like ribbons of light, suddenly burst forth from her eyes, ears, mouth, and nose!

Ah—!!

She emitted an extremely piercing scream… In the corridor, panels of classroom glass began to shatter, a huge force emanated from her center, instantly released forward and backward in the corridor.

“What is this!”

The first to turn back was Arno, who witnessed this bizarre scene, his brain couldn’t process it before being flipped over by the immense force, crashing at the corridor’s end… The enormous pressure pinned him against the wall, his face even twisted as a result.

“What is this monster!”

Immediately followed by Boston… At this moment, his body was pressed against the wall, letting out a terrified cry—and Caroline suddenly opened her mouth.

Like a scream, yet like a roar, the thunderous noise brought about the rupture of the entire floor, countless debris shot out from the other side of the window.

Arno and the other two were instantly buried under the rubble, their survival uncertain.

Among the ruins of the corridor, dust swirling, Caroline was already lying on the ground, clutching her head tightly.

Countless voices, countless images, countless pieces of information began to flood madly into her brain, she felt herself being annihilated by this massive influx of external information.

Amidst countless chaotic voices, Caroline heard a clear tapping sound… She struggled to open her eyes, finally seeing something.

Wearing a black and white maid outfit… The woman from that mysterious shop she had seen.

“Save… save me…” Caroline said weakly.

“Why save you? If you endure your current pain, you will attain extraordinary Power. Dimensional Observation, past or future, both will allow your presence.”

“Ah—I can’t take it… can’t take it… I don’t want… no!!” Caroline suddenly grabbed the woman’s leg: “I don’t want it!”

“Think about it again, I’m not lying to you.” She slowly crouched down, reaching out to touch Caroline’s lips, calmly said: “You’re foolish, ignorant, vulgar, yet because of this, you can have an opportunity to transform, and without a doubt, if you endure this pain, you will become a lifeform surpassing humanity.”

“Ah—!!!! I don’t want it!!!”

Caroline painfully grabbed her face, digging into her cheeks, leaving blood-streaked marks, “I don’t want it! I don’t want it!! I don’t want it!!!”

She stood up, calmly said: “Dimensional Observer, a bloodline forbidden to exist in a world… Permanently stripped of your ability to bear children so the Lord of this world allows your Awakening. Once you pass through this pain, you’ll find the pain you’re enduring now is insignificant.”

“I don’t want it… I can’t endure it ah—!!!!”

“Then choose.” She calmly said: “Whether to strip away this Power, or accept this Power, and become Transcendent?”

“I don’t want it… no… save me… please…”

She shook her head, seeming to sigh: “Countless years, hundreds of centuries, do you know why the Dimensional Observer’s abilities have barely awakened in so many? That’s because… Only when it appears in a person without vessel, does its chance to be birthed seem so fragile, even impossible, you’re not the first to give up, really not reconsider?”

“I… don’t want it…”

“I understand, guest.” She placed her hand on Caroline’s forehead: “Now, I’ll strip away this Miracle Force for you.”
