Chapter 856: Chapter 100: The Mainland of Lies (3)

Caroline swiftly withdrew her hand, causing 403 to miss the intended grasp. 403 felt quite astonished; it seemed Caroline was afraid of something.

Perhaps it was his terrifying appearance nowadays. 403 was long accustomed to his current looks, thus he showed no signs of anger, only calmly said, “Get up, let’s talk somewhere else, there’s too many people here.”

Karo grabbed her hand, lowered her head, and stood up hurriedly passing by 403—she didn’t look back at 403’s appearance; she didn’t know how 403’s gaze was at the moment, whether it was scrutinizing, staring, or pondering, whether it was good or bad.

Caroline was not even sure if what she saw was really 403’s future, but she did see Big Brother Boston’s appearance… and their destinies were entangled together.

Did 403 know whether the current Arno truly was Arno?

If he knew early on, why didn’t he warn her… Suddenly, Caroline recalled Nia’s words: don’t easily trust anyone.

Caroline suddenly felt like retreating.

So behind the teaching building, Caroline directly stated her mind, “I don’t want to continue anymore, I just want to leave, don’t want to be involved in this dangerous affair again.”

403 was silent for a moment, then shook his head, “Caroline, I thought you were someone with perseverance, but you’ve disappointed me.”

Caroline found it amusing, “Really? Well, I’m sorry… but I’ve always disappointed people since I was little, I’m already used to it… In the end, you’re only seeking your revenge… I don’t know what kind of revenge would satisfy you, but please don’t drag me into it, I’m just a very ordinary person!”

“I’ve said, after this matter is over, I will come forward to testify that Harry was the one who killed Livia, and clear your name.” 403 said slowly, “If you just leave, I’m sorry, you will carry the guilt of murder forever. With some luck, perhaps you can hide for life, with bad luck, I think you can imagine it yourself. Do you… prefer having nothing?”

Caroline’s body stiffened.

403 then came closer, speaking softly, “Just two more days, after two days, you can walk out in bright light, return to your past life, or start your new life.”

Caroline subconsciously clenched her fist, raising her head, staring at 403 and asked, “Have you been around all the time? If I encounter danger, will you appear?”

“As long as you follow my words, you won’t face danger.” 403 said calmly, “Remember, without you, I can still carry out my revenge, and without my help, you’ll be a fugitive for life…”

Saying so, 403 took out a folded paper from his clothes, slowly opening it in front of Caroline, “I found this outside, I thought you might be interested.”

Caroline took the folded paper from 403 with horror… this was a wanted notice, with her likeness printed on it.

“How can they do this! I’m innocent!” Caroline suddenly became agitated.

403 shrugged, “After all, you’ve been missing for so many days, the criminal escaped right under everyone’s eyes on the day of the crime, didn’t they? Two days, just two days… you really don’t intend to try a bit harder?”

“What do you want me to do?” Caroline angrily asked, crumpling the wanted notice.

“Tonight, I want you to have relations with him.”

403 picked up a strand of Caroline’s hair, examining it carefully, like a Devil with burning skin, whispered in Caroline’s ear, “I think this should be quite easy for you.”

Just two days…

…

When Boston returned to his lair, the place wasn’t crowded, with only two men watching a live football match boredly.

“Where’s Harry?” Boston casually asked.

One of them sipped beer and said, “Oh, probably asleep? He was acting crazy again just now, smashing things once more. There’s not much left to smash in there.”

Boston nodded, then shifted his gaze, pulling out a wad of cash, counted some, and tossed it onto the table, “I’m hungry, go buy some food… Oh, bring a woman back, I’ll keep watch here.”

The two were ecstatic seeing Boston’s generosity, rushing to put on their shoes and go out as there was plenty left even after expenses.

After the two left, Boston quickly locked the door, then entered a room within—only Arno had the key to open it.

But locks couldn’t prevent someone determined to open them… Boston licked his lips, took out a string of tools from his pant pocket, and easily opened the door.

Boston knew the secret of the safe very well, it contained all the bath salts acquired from that mysterious woman.

Seeing all the goods, Boston’s eyes heated up… if he could sell off this batch, he’d have enough capital, wouldn’t need anybody.

As long as he had money in hand, would he worry about lacking soldiers or rations?

Boston quickly packed all the bath salts into a travel bag, also took the handgun from the safe.

Just as he planned to leave, he heard smashing sounds from the adjacent room, alongside Harry’s insane roaring.

He’s a madman, having severe violent tendencies, prone to outbursts every now and then… Boston had decided to keep all the bath salts for himself, wanting to go solo, thus in a decisive move, he approached the door of Harry’s locked room.

“You want to go out?” Boston forcefully pounded the door, attracting Harry’s attention inside, “Do you want to go out? I can take you to Boss Arno.”

Inside the room, it suddenly quieted down.

Inside, Harry glared wide-eyed like a Beast—his feet surrounded by scattered photo fragments, brought by a mysterious guy for days, each time with intimate photos of Caroline and Arno.

The mysterious man never spoke, leaving photos silently each time, making Harry increasingly unable to hold himself, feeling like he’s on the brink of madness, desperately wanting to leave this place.

“I can take you to your brother… but you must be quiet and follow my orders.” Boston’s voice was slightly deep across the door, “Otherwise, I can shoot your brains out anytime!”

“Let me——out——!!!”

…

…

Caroline still returned to 403’s dormitory ahead of Arno… but she didn’t intend to follow 403’s plan, to have relations with Arno—after all, the so-called chastity was cheap compared to a loaf of bread for people of her standing.

The only proof of her innocence was Room 403, and she had no choice but to pretend to agree—she needed a little time, a little time to find a way out.

Caroline instinctively thought of the business card given to her by Dr. Ferenc’s son. Caroline initially didn’t pay much attention to it, but now she thought she should try any means possible—it wouldn’t hurt her anyway.

However, she couldn’t use the phone Arno gave her to make this call. So after returning to Room 403, Caroline quickly came back out again.

Underneath the dormitory was a pay phone booth, and Caroline walked straight into it, dialing the number on the card.

“Hello, Bolton Logistics Transportation Company, is there anything I can help you with?” On the other end was a woman’s voice.

Caroline was stunned, glanced at the number she dialed, and found she hadn’t made a mistake… but why was it a transportation company?

“Hello, if there’s nothing else, please allow me to hang up.” The woman on the phone quickly said,

“Wait! Wait!” Caroline took a deep breath, recalling the details of her conversation with Dr. Ferenc’s son, and something clicked as she said, “Southern… Southern Cross!”

The phone suddenly went silent, but the line wasn’t cut. While Caroline anxiously waited, the voice of the operator came back on, “Your request has been processed, now transferring you, please hold on.”

Caroline was momentarily stunned… After waiting for a moment, a man’s voice came through on the other end of the line, “Hello, how can I assist you?”

Caroline hurriedly said, “This call, someone told me to make it. He is Dr. Ferenc’s son, he told me…”

The man on the phone promptly interrupted, “Miss, just tell me what help you need.”

Caroline gritted her teeth, “Listen, I’m caught up in a mess. I’ve been falsely accused of being a murder suspect, the person framing me is named Harry… and also Arno, they’re brothers and now the police are after me. I’m in a very dangerous situation…”

“What’s your name?” the man asked quickly.

“Caroline… Caroline Svewitt!”

“Understood. We will solve your problem as soon as possible,” the man said quickly. “Please rest assured, it will be resolved no later than tomorrow.”

“Wait, I’m not finished…”

Caroline called out a few times into the receiver, but the phone had already been hung up. When Caroline dialed the number again, she found it had turned into a disconnected number.

Caroline reluctantly hung up the receiver… It was clear that the man who answered later had a somewhat dismissive tone.

Would waiting a day be enough?

Caroline couldn’t help but shake her head. If it were that magical Shop, it might be possible… but she couldn’t find that magical store anymore.

She had no choice but to walk back to Room 403 dispiritedly, trying another idea of hers—she came to the bathroom, looking at her reflection in the mirror.

She had already seen several things that were going to happen in the future, and several of them had come true, like the mother pushing a stroller, Dr. Ferenc, and that time in the restaurant—plus three more times.

Once she saw ‘herself’ being caught, something stuffed into her mouth, then an extremely painful scene.

Once she saw in some forest, but she still couldn’t tell whether it was Arno or Harry, someone being stabbed in the chest with a knife.

And once it happened just now—when she touched Room 403, involving something by the river related to Big Brother Boston.

Because it was so scattered and fragmented, Caroline couldn’t find any clues—however, recalling the experiences of those strange perspectives, she noticed something.

Two of these instances occurred when her heart was racing.

Does this mean that if she’s extremely nervous, with her heart racing, she can trigger this ability?

The more Caroline thought about it, the more feasible it seemed. She started to accelerate her blood circulation—naturally, the best way to quicken her heartbeat was through exercise.

However, after nearly half an hour, drenched in sweat and panting heavily, she had achieved nothing—Caroline eventually collapsed onto the sofa exhausted.

Because she was so tired, Caroline didn’t even want to move a muscle, just lying there, quietly listening to her heartbeat.

Besides her, the quiet and eerily silent Room 403 added to the stillness. Caroline stared dazedly out the window, becoming suddenly calm, as some images flashed before her eyes.

She didn’t deliberately try to grasp these images, her consciousness falling into a strange state. Caroline didn’t know what this was, just instinctively not wanting to break away from it.

What she didn’t know was… the air around her was subtly distorting, like ripples.

…

At this moment, on the rooftop of the dormitory building where Room 403 was located, two figures slowly descended—Wolfgang, shimmering gold, and Noah, clad in a gray robe.

They returned once again from the dimensional rift—since the last time they used the ‘Book of Void’s’ time imprinting in the bar’s basement.

Lucifer’s whereabouts remained a mystery, but Noah hadn’t come away empty-handed.

“Is this the source of the interference?” Wolfgang furrowed his brow, looking thoughtfully at the dormitory building below, unable to help but say, “She’s just an ordinary person, even… not pure.”

“She’s not a specific Mrs. Witch, what does purity matter?” Noah said calmly. “Physical purity can’t compare to a clean Soul.”

Wolfgang shrugged, “I still prefer bodies that are pure… But who is she really?”

Noah was silent for a moment before slowly saying, “She’s a Dimensional Observer, she’s Awakening… her Life form is transforming.”

“Isn’t that just like you? The Lord’s realm actually still permits the existence of Dimensional Observer bloodline… forbidden offspring!”

Wolfgang opened his mouth, Dimensional Observers, among the many different Earths, are also top-tier bloodlines, extremely rare; a world may not birth even one, and before and after Awakening, they are completely different Beings—only when fully Awakened can they transform into another form of Life.”

“We can study this further after this matter is settled,” Noah said indifferently. “But she… will become my bride, we will give birth to a perfect Observer… Caroline.”
