Bang!

Explosions echoed repeatedly as the audience struggled to keep up with the movements of Soren and Brandon who.

Were moving around with one attacking and the other busy defending.

What was expected to be a straightforward match had transformed into an intense spectacle that neither academy’s fans could have anticipated.

With both mages displaying powers far beyond what anyone had imagined.

Soren darted across the battlefield, leaving trails of destructive flames in his wake, occasionally, he hurled scorching fireballs at Brandon without the need to cast spells.

This wasn’t due to an evolution of his element affinity to the manipulation stage, but rather the effects of the second stage of his bloodline transformation.

In this form, he appeared almost like someone who had achieved fire manipulation, a feat made possible by the Fire Dragon bloodline coursing through his veins.

His second stage transformation amplified his flame based powers to such an extent that Brandon’s sand manipulation could no longer hold an advantage in the fight as before.

However, it was evident that Soren was expending more mana to maintain this level of attack.

But even so, with his High Tier 5 aura, his battle prowess should have been significantly higher than Brandon’s, who was only a Mid Tier 5 Mage.

But what baffled the spectators was Brandon’s resilience, despite being at a disadvantage in realm, he still continuously held his ground, expertly defending against Soren’s relentless attacks.

His calculated retreats only fuelled the cheers of the War God Academy fans, who chanted his name incessantly.

This growing adoration for Brandon enraged Soren.

Not only had his powers increased with the transformation, but so had his emotions.

Fire Dragons were infamous for their short tempers and fiery anger, and Soren was no exception.

Frustration burned within him as he realized the arena was chanting Brandon’s name, not his, despite being the aggressor, he felt ignored and overshadowed.

“Why don’t you stop running and let me slash you just once?” Soren bellowed, his voice filled with rage, Flames roared across his back as he dashed forward, reaching into the air.

In an instant, a massive flaming sword materialized in his outstretched hand, radiating destructive heat as he charged toward Brandon.

“Oh, if you’re being chased, would you just bare your neck and let yourself be killed, or would you find a way to outmaneuver your pursuer?” Brandon retorted, his tone tinged with exasperation.

He still looked tired, irritated by how much Soren was making him talk.

As he finished his statement, Brandon swiftly leaped into the air, somersaulting back to the ground to evade the slash of Soren’s massive flaming sword.

Soren had deliberately crafted the extra long flaming sword to compensate for his inability to catch Brandon, whose strange footwork rendered Soren’s destructive powers ineffective as long as he couldn’t close the distance.

The sword’s extended reach was meant to corner Brandon, but as always, Brandon’s agility allowed him to slip away.

But this time, however, Soren’s eyes gleamed with determination as Brandon landed.

“Caught you!” Soren declared as the flaming sword vanished into the wind he pushed his hands back, with flames igniting from his palms, he propelled himself forward, closing the gap between him and Brandon, who had been skilfully avoiding him since the second stage transformation.

Taking advantage of the fact that Brandon is just recently landing, Soren wasted no time and whipped his fiery tail toward him.

Brandon reacted instantly, he raised his sheathed saber with his right hand while twisting his body, using his left hand as a pivot, with the saber placed up front.

The saber met Soren’s tail head-on, as it sliced through the air with flames trailing behind the tail after gathering momentum.

Boom!

The clash caused an explosion of flames, sending Brandon hurtling through the air.

Before he could crash into the ground, a massive hand of sand rose from the stage, catching him and gently lowering him back to the ground.

Brandon landed on his feet, unscathed, as the sand settled once again back to the ground.

For a moment, the crowd fell silent, awed by the intense exchange.

But it wasn’t long before their cheers and shouts resumed, filling the arena with noise once again.

“When you first casted that spell, I wondered why anyone would use such a technique with no real offensive capabilities,” Soren began, his voice carrying over the chaos.

Wherever he stepped, flames scorched the ground, forcing the surrounding sand to shift as though trying to escape his fiery wrath.

“It puzzled me,” Soren said, his tone sharp.

“The Sand Kingdom spell is just an Mid Tier version of Sand Spread, a spell most earth mages don’t bother mastering unless they’ve reached the high ranks, as only the upgraded High Tier version is worth any attention”

“But now I understand why you used it first, it’s because you can’t even face me head-on, you’re just running with your tail between your legs, using your sand manipulation to play tricks.

No matter what, you’ll still lose today.”

With that, Soren slashed both hands outward, unleashing claw-shaped Qi attacks.

But these weren’t ordinary claws; they burned fiercely, cutting through the air with intense heat as they raced toward Brandon.

“Man, you talk too much,” Brandon replied, his voice carrying a hint of irritation.

“And I’m tired of you trying to figure me out all the time.

Let’s end this quickly.” With that, he unsheathed his saber and started slashing out casually toward the flaming attack claws heading his way.

[ Blade Style – Second Form – Void Slash ]

Alec smiled as he saw Brandon using this move again, the first time he had seen it was when Brandon fought against Legion back at the clan house.

But unlike the last time, where he had just sent out large slashes to cover the area and had wasted a lot of his mana in the process, this time he seemed more experienced with this blade move.

He sent out ten smaller slashes that flew through the air and moved toward the flaming claws that had almost reached him as he walked one step at a time.

The crowd felt Brandon had not made a move faster, and by being closer to the slash, he would suffer even if it’s a little from the residual of the explosion when both attacks clashed.

But they still couldn’t explain why Brandon was walking toward the location where both attacks would collide, until a few seconds later.
