The Golem Mage

677: Iron Body.

677: Iron Body.

After a few minutes of admiring his reflection in the water mirror, Alec finally recalled the Infernal Mantle Set, and it disappeared magically back into his body.

He already understood most of the abilities of his new gear from the first time he equipped them; even he couldn’t explain how.

It was as if the applications and activations of these abilities were ingrained directly into his mind, making him feel like they have been a part of him for a long time.

No matter how he tried to use the special abilities of the gear, he could activate them effortlessly.

He conducted a few experiments with the new knowledge that was being inputted into his mind, and he quickly figured out what the saved Mana represented.

It was like a power bank where he could store his Mana, allowing him to continue fighting in battle even if he ran out of mana as long as he had the Veil of Ashes, it would recharge him with the exact amount of Mana he had saved.

With a limit of fifty thousand Mana, Alec also learned how to save spells in the gloves, how to absorb spells directed at him, and the method to unleash them against his opponents.

With all that accomplished, Alec felt ready to experiment with some of the features the system had revealed to him, but first, he wanted to check on Arthur’s golem progress.

–

Alec jammed Arthur in the living room and proceeded to instruct him instantly

“Summon your golem for me?”

“Huh?” Arthur replied, taken aback by Alec’s question.

He wasn’t sure what had prompted it, but he remembered that Alec had helped with the evolution of Agnes’s golems, after processing what Alec was asking, he swiftly summoned his golem for him to see.

He extended his hand, connecting his Mana to the small space pouch on his waist, just beside his navy coloured student badge.

With that, Arthur’s golem was summoned, It was silver in colour, but when Alec looked at it, he felt it lacked the gleam and luster he had expected.

“What do you think?

Cool, right?” Arthur asked, rubbing his hands together but Alec hesitated to respond, unsure if the golem had successfully evolved, because he felt If it had, it certainly wouldn’t look like this.

[Inspect]

Name: –

Golem Type: Iron Body Golem, Silver Stage (Failed Evolution)

[Ding!]

[New Quest Created]

[Detected flawed evolution; help guide the golem back onto its proper path.]

Rewards: Complete model understandings of Iron Body Golems(Mortal stage), 10,000 system points.

Alec blinked, trying to confirm that what he was seeing was legitimate, he wasn’t just perplexed that the system, which had been stingy with system points, had decided to give him another mission; but he was astounded by the potential of Arthur’s Iron Body Golem.

Alec felt it should have awakened both the Light and Earth element affinities during its evolution.

However, since the evolution had failed, it clearly wasn’t able to complete its evolutionary path.

Turning to Arthur with a shocked expression, Alec noticed Arthur gazing back with a small smile, almost as if he were waiting for praise.

Bang!

“Ouch!

What was that for?” Arthur complained, using his right hand to cover his head, Alec had given him a sharp knock when he finally understood what had occurred.

Unlike most golems, Iron Body Golems were among the few that made it difficult for their masters to have another golem.

Moreover, every Iron Body Golem had an energy-sharing ability with its master.

This meant that as the master grew stronger, some of that energy would be shared with the golem, aiding its growth.

Conversely, if the golem progressed faster than its master, part of its energy would also be transferred to the master, helping to boost the master’s realm until they were on the same level.

This energy-sharing functioned to balance the power between the golem and mage, allowing them to maximize their merging duration effectively.

The sharing of energy was akin to dual cultivation, just without the intimate aspect, they were so profoundly connected that the death of the golem could deeply affect its owner.

With all this in mind, Alec could deduce that the significant gap between Arthur and his golem had resulted in a one-way energy transfer, forcing the golem into a state of evolution when it was passing from the Tier 3 Golem realm to the mid Rank and all this without the proper resources and materials.

Consequently, it must have failed to enter the proper Silver Body stage, but Arthur had only noticed the change in his golem’s body from bronze to silver and believed it had evolved, never considering that he might need assistance.

However, looking at the clueless expression on Arthur’s face, Alec began to understand him a little better.

After all, there hadn’t been any elders from the Gordon Clan nearby to point out that his golem had experienced an evolutionary failure.

Even Alec was somewhat clueless, as he didn’t have a thorough understanding of the Iron Body aspect.

He was grateful to have his system; without it, even if he were a genius in the golem path, he might not have grasped what was wrong with the golem this fast without any help from their clan elders.

But with the system’s help, Alec felt that even the ancestors of the Gordon Clan wouldn’t be able to do better than him at his current stage, given that he had what seemed to be an all-knowing master: the system.

“There’s been a problem with your golem’s evolution but luckily for you, I know exactly what to do to fix it, just sit tight and watch as I unleash the full potential of your golem.” Alec said to Arthur,

Arthur was shocked at Alec’s words, he had sensed something was off with his golem, but he hadn’t considered it serious since it had eventually still transformed into a silver body golem.

Yet, Alec’s confidence convinced him that there was definitely something wrong, and he also trusted Alec completely.

[Searching Evolution Path….]

Alec placed his hand on the golem’s body, trying to know its evolutionary path through the help of the system searching.

At this moment, almost every member of the team had gathered around the main living room, eagerly watching to see what he would do to remedy the evolutionary failure.
