The Golem Mage

667: Chapter 667.

667: Chapter 667.

Alec jolted upright in his bed as he finally woke from his sleep, realizing he was back.

He reminisced about the significant changes in Titan’s status, surprised at how much improvement had occurred just from the breakthrough.

The jump in stats from Peak Tier 5 to Tier 6 was so substantial that Alec now understood why it was said to be difficult to advance realms and compete against those of higher ranks especially among High Rank Realm mages.

He then proceeded to open the system, recalling that he still had other notifications he hadn’t checked yet.

He had been so focused on Titan’s new status that he closed the other notifications to examine his upgrade.

[> Ding!]

[Congratulations on completing a hidden quest: Road to General Rank]

[Rewards:]

+ 1,000,000 System Points

+ One Free Spirit Equipment Forging

“Whoa,” Alec exclaimed as he saw his new rewards, it was the first time he had received such a large amount of system points as a reward.

Since becoming accustomed to system points, he had to grind tirelessly to earn just a little.

In fact, all the system points he currently had came from battling and defeating monsters; none of them were given so easily as rewards, which is why he was still shocked by the system’s generosity now.

[> New Quest Generated]

First Quest Reward : 100,000 System Points

Second Quest Reward : 9,000,000 System Points

Third Quest Reward : ???

Time Limit : 2 years

Seeing the last system notification, Alec finally realized he had much more to accomplish, the mission that seemed closest to completion was clearly filling the spaces for his ten main golems; he already had eight.

All he needed was to create two more special golems that he would link to and he would be entitled to claim the first reward.

The second task seemed somewhat burdensome, but he was confident that as long as he continued to evolve, it wouldn’t take long to reach that level.

The mission that concerned him the most was becoming the Patriarch of the Gordons Clan.

He remembered how his grandfather always shied away from his duties and constantly complained about wanting Alec to grow quickly and take over.

While becoming the patriarch might be complicated, Alec knew that if he entered the Tier 7 realm before the 2 years time limit, there would be no resistance to his ascension as the clan Patriarch, his grandfather would gladly give up the title.

However, the thought of becoming the patriarch sent a shiver down his spine; as he didn’t want to be tied down or burdened with such a role.

He clearly recalled how everyone in the clan seemed disinterested in becoming the patriarch and those in power ignore their responsibility.

The Gordons were a distinctly unusual bunch, rejecting the idea of being restricted or even contemplating such a position.

In fact, the only reason George couldn’t relinquish his role was that he was the rightful heir, and now he could only leave the job for his own successor.

That’s why he had chosen Alec, as Alec was his only descendant.

“Well, there’s no need to think about things I can’t control, there is still 2 years in between, Ineed my sleep,” Alec muttered as he settled back into bed and drifted off for another round of sleep.

The next day arrived quickly, with the entire team gathering in the main room.

One of the other two instructors had gone to each room, knocking on doors to inform everyone that it was time to prepare as they would be going to watch the second match of the third round.

The Dean was already waiting for them as he would be teleporting them with the space door, but after about three minutes had passed without Alec emerging from his room, the Dean was beginning to lose his patience.

He turned his head toward Selene.

“When will your precious captain deem it fit to finally come out of his room?

Is he even taking this seriously?

This is his chance to observe his future opponents,” the new Dean remarked.

Selene could only smile nervously as she approached Alec’s room.

This time, rather than knocking, she barged in, only to realize he was deep in sleep.

Noticing the large balloon of air snorting from his nose as he breathed in and out, she finally lost her cool and sent a huge water ball crashing against Alec’s body.

The cold water splashed on him the moment it made contact with his body, causing Alec to jump out of bed in shock as his bone blade materialized in his palm.

However, when he saw Selene standing before him with her hands on her hips, he quickly turned his gaze towards the water shield on the other side of the room.

He could clearly see the sun shining in the sky, something he hadn’t noticed while asleep, as the water shield was designed to block out such distractions from penetrating the room.

“Get ready, you have one minute!” Selene called out as she tossed something his way, which he awkwardly caught with one hand.

When he looked at what she had thrown at him, he realized it was a newly designed version of their academy uniform.

Though it looked more stylish and had a military flair, it was still just Tier 4 spirit clothing.

Alec couldn’t help but shake his head, frustrated that even after making it to the finals, the Dean still hadn’t deemed it necessary to spend money on getting the whole team Tier 5 spirit clothes.

But he shoved those thoughts aside as he quickly dashed for his bathroom since he was still running late.

—

The Grand Arena was completely packed, just like the other day, but this time the two sides of the arena were equally divided between the academies.

The right side was filled with fans of the Battle Mage Academy, while the left side was occupied by the supporters of the Bloodline Academy.

All around, the crowd was cheering loudly as they eagerly awaited their teams to make their entrance onto the battlefield.

The War God Academy team was fortunate to arrive just in time, making their way toward the third section of the VIP booths, where they encountered the members of Onyx Academy team already seated at the far Corner.

Agnes attempted to greet them, but the Onyx Academy team completely ignored her, leading to a palpable distance between the two groups.

Despite this, Alec paid them no mind and continued chatting with Arthur and Brandon, eager to try something out with them once he got out of the arena.

Selene and the other two instructors sat with the team while the new Dean occupied a seat on the second level of the VIP booth.

Due to Alec’s time wasting episodes, he hadn’t had the chance for any personal discussions with him, as the whole team were in a rush.

Now that they were here, he simply wanted to watch the match and let the momentum that had brought his academy this far continue to propel them forward.

No matter what the outcome, he was already extremely happy with their achievements so far.

“Welcome to the second match of the third round, featuring the Battle Mage Academy versus the Bloodline Academy!

People of the Northern Capital, are you ready?!” the red-haired referee announced as he levitated in the air, delivering his speech while trying to rile up the crowd.

And he succeeded; as their enthusiastic cheer was so loud that the entire arena vibrated.
