After hearing the format of the final match, not many people were pleased with it, particularly the supporters of the War God Mage Academy.

They believed this new format was designed solely to diminish the War God Academy’s chances of winning the finals.

By pitting them against their opponents in this way, they felt Alec would lose the opportunity to exploit weaknesses and continue defeating members of the Bloodline Academy as he had done before against the Vajra Academy

While they thought such type of victory against the Bloodline Academy might be impossible, they still didn’t want to risk it considering Alec had showed that he could just summon his golems to stampede a win, and that is why the committee had adhered to the five-match format, hoping it would allow the Bloodline Academy a smoother path to victory.

When the ten minutes were up, the sand in the hourglass had completely drained, disappearing in a puff of smoke.

As the smoke cleared, the red-haired referee reappeared.

“And that’s it, time’s up, fellas!

We shall begin the fight immediately, the first person to step onto the stage for this opening match will be from the Bloodline Academy team, make your selections fast” the referee announced.

Connor moved towards the stairs, climbing the wide circular stage, prompting a loud roar from Bloodline Academy fans.

“Destroy them!”

“Bring the first position home!” they shouted.

The War God Academy team looked at Alec, knowing that while Bloodline Academy had a fixed line-up for such events, Alec had stated he had no intention of doing the same.

He requested to choose his fighter only after the mage fighting for the Bloodline Academy team was known for each fight.

That’s why they were all watching him eagerly, waiting to see whom he would select.

“Hey, Arthur, go play with him for a while, don’t hesitate to beat that big Lycan to a pulp,” Alec instructed, shocking nearly every member of the War God Academy team.

There had been much speculation about who Alec would pick, but they never imagined he would call on Arthur to step onto the stage.

Though they knew that Arthur had stepped into the Tier 5 Mage Realm, but they couldn’t help but compare him to Connor Lupus, who was on the verge of entering the Mid Tier 5 Mage Realm and had the ability to transform into a werewolf, which significantly boosted his power.

This comparison left them feeling as though Arthur was about to face a Mid Tier 5 Mage and not a low Tier 5 Mage instead and not just any mage but one with superior attack capabilities.

While they all had their own reservations about Alec’s choice, they had come to respect him immensely and wouldn’t question his authority.

As Arthur Gordons began to walk toward the circular stage, the audience buzzed with surprise at the War God Academy team’s first choice, discussions erupting among them.

Some Bloodline Academy fans even started booing Arthur, but he paid no attention; to him, it was finally his time to shine, and he was determined not to let Alec down.

As usual, the individuals in the three VIP sections had plenty to say, feeling they understood Alec’s strategy better than most.

“How foolish of him!

I thought he was a wise mage, but why would he send an unknown fighter to face Connor?

Connor will practically rip this guy to shreds!” the captain of the Witches and Wizards Academy remarked upon seeing Alec’s first pick, Vincent merely chuckled in response.

“All this time, you and I have been watching Alec make his moves, yet I can’t believe anyone would still underestimate him, Alec never makes a move without purpose, let’s just wait and see what unfolds,” Vincent said, continuing to support Alec against the other Great Eight academies captains.

“Hmph, sometimes I wonder if you’re truly one of us.

I don’t understand why you continue to support a lowlife,” Liam said, his blonde hair swaying as he turned to face Vincent.

But Vincent simply ignored him.

“If I were in his position, I would have chosen either Beatrice Marionette or that Blades guy to face Connor, that way it would have been a hard-fought match, but I believe those two would have a higher chance of winning than this pipsqueak,” Yama remarked, resting his chin on his hand as he watched from above.

Despite suffering a serious injury in his match against Alec, the Vajra Academy had quickly leveraged their resources to get him back to peak performance.

They certainly didn’t want their flag bearer falling behind the other captains of the Great Eight Academies, as this would make it significantly harder for the Vajra Academy to compete effectively against the other Great Eight Academies in such gathering event like this if the next generation to represent them is left behind by his peers.

This urgency in their actions was also due to Yama’s clan connections with the academy.

As soon as he recovered, he had made it a priority to attend the finals.

In fact, he no longer felt disheartened about losing to Alec again; he recognized that Alec had reached a level that made such losses seem normal.

After all, almost all of the Great Eight Academy captains no longer saw him as beneath them but rather as someone each of them aspired to surpass and defeat.

The reason Liam still called Alec a lowlife was for two reasons, first, because he is a royal-born, and second, due to Liam’s arrogance stemming from the belief that Alec had never truly defeated him in combat.

This led him to run his mouth excessively, convinced that his copying abilities was superior to anything Alec could handle.

However, despite his attempts to spread this rumour to provoke Alec, he had received neither feedback nor a challenge in return making him feel that Alec was scared of him.

“Look on the bright side; if he could follow up with either of those two mages I talked about, he might have gained the upper hand early on.

“

“All he would need is to miraculously secure two more hard-fought wins, and maybe the War God Mage Academy could still have a chance at winning this final,” Yama continued, only to be interrupted by Liam.

“Forget about gaining any advantage; I don’t believe the War God Academy team can secure a win in this entire match,” Liam retorted dismissively.

“Would you like to put that to a bet?” Selene’s voice rang out from the back, where the coordinators were seated, startling Liam and making him realize a coordinator was interfering in the discussions between teams, this was the first time that the third level was this filled so they didn’t even remember the coordinator sat alongside them at the back.

.

Before he could respond, his own coordinator stepped in to diffuse the situation and avoid him offending Selene.

“Now, now, calm down.

He’s just a teenager running off at the mouth; you know how these kids can be, please don’t take offense to his words,” the Royal Mage Academy coordinator said, smiling widely.

Seeing this cringe-inducing smile made Selene step off and turn her attention back to the battle ring, as she detest the Royal Mage Academy coordinator and didn’t want to converse with him.

But even she was aware that Arthur had recently advanced but couldn’t quite grasp why Alec had chosen to send him out first.

However, she recognized that despite Alec’s seemingly clueless demeanour, he was a very calculative person who wouldn’t hesitate to be shameless at times to achieve his goals.

With that in mind, she decided to trust his judgment once again, believing that this might just be a wild card he prepared to throw the Bloodline Academy off balance before executing his main strategy.
