Chapter 1345: Second Store Upgrade Quest(13)

”Please bury her where no one will disturb her if I donʼt come back,” The man suddenly requested Laney when it was time to implement the plan.

Laney didnʼt say any motivated words in response and took the wifeʼs hand from the man. She then placed it in her space ring.

”Itʼs time,” Laney commanded. The next moment, the man nodded and entered the lair while Laney began to prepare so that the beast could be killed instantly.

Roar!

Soon after entering the lair, the man was greeted with a roar from the beast. The man felt his legs shaking from fright, but remembering his wifeʼs condition, he calmed down and kept walking.

Soon after, he came face to face with the beast. In front of him stood a weird-looking creature with a gigantic mouth without any lips. Its sharp canine teeth were visible. The man was thinner and smaller than even one tooth.

The beast growled when it saw the man. Due to its gigantic body and the injuries from the last battle, it wasnʼt easy for the beast to rush.

But since the enemy was a weak creature in front of it, it simply opened its mouth, and a wave of energy began to form around it.

Whoosh!

Right at that time, an arrow flew, tearing through the air. Its direction was the wave of energy.

Boom!

As soon as the arrow touched the energy, it exploded, creating a shocking wave. Even though the man was far from the beast, he still had to bear the brunt of the explosion.

The man was knocked back, while the beast also fell backward. It wasnʼt dead, but the injury was severe.

Roar!

The beast roared in anger, and the scenes inside the mouth became visible to the outside world. Being the closest to the explosion, the inside of the beast was burned, with blood continuously flowing.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

The sound of footsteps rang out as Laney also stepped out of the darkness. She used a unique arrow that would explode at the mere thought of the shooter. Laney had spent a lot of money on it for her safety.

But since her enemy was unbeatable and Laney wanted revenge, she used the arrow.

The beast wasnʼt dead, so Laney approached it. She wasnʼt completely open and ready to pull away at a momentʼs notice.

The accumulated injuries from the last battle made things uncomfortable for the beast, and in addition to that, the injury in its mouth was more severe than other injuries. The beast saw the shooter approaching it, and its eyes contained nothing but brutality.

Laneyʼs eyes similarly had chilly expressions, and she took out a talisman the size of a button. Her eyes showed hesitation when she looked at the talisman, but she forced herself to calm down and act.

Her speed had reached its peak, and she pressed the button on the beast. She immediately pulled away as well.

The next moment, lighting began emerging from the button. At first, it was only around the button, but it slowly began to grow.

A burning smell appeared in the area, but the outside of the beast was completely fine. The talisman was another expensive item she bought. It could ignore outer defenses and attack the inner organs with lightning.

The beast kept crying and flailing as the pain from its inner organs being charred by lighting became unbearable for her.

When it had exhausted all its energy, it disintegrated into ashes. The beast was still alive and seemed to be away from life-threatening danger.

Laney frowned since she had already spent two of her valuable items, and the beast was still alive.

ʼDo I need to use that?ʼ Laney couldnʼt help but sigh in her heart as she thought.

There was no going back from where Laney had taken the matter with the beast. Either the beast or she will survive this battle.

Laney seemed hesitant about using that item, but since she was unable to think of another way to end the beast, she turned around and looked at the man.

The man understood it was his time to act. What he was going to do only had less than a ten percent chance of survival, but avenging his wife and other members of the group was worth that risk.

The man nodded and approached Laney. She immediately took out a scroll from her space ring.

As she opened the scroll, intense heat crashed onto her like a whip. She gritted her teeth through the scorching heat and completely opened the scroll.

On it, there was a pattern. Laney then bit the tip of her finger and placed a drop of her blood into one of the two sections.

Laney handed the scroll to the man. The man already knew what to do, so he also bit his finger and poured several drops of his blood onto the second section.

The next moment, the pattern on the scroll lightened up to red, the same color as the manʼs blood. The scroll disintegrated while the pattern was engraved on the back of his hand.

The man gritted his teeth to bear through the process without making any sound. When the pattern was being engraved, the man felt as if there were tens of thousands of needles with hot tips pricking through the skin at the back of his hand.

When the process was complete, a wave of scorching lava passed through the manʼs body, slowly charring him.

”Itʼs time,” Laney commanded, ignoring the pain the man had to face.

The scroll used by Laney was an item that could be used as the last option, where even suicide seemed like a better option.

The man nodded, and the next moment, he turned into a wave of fire. At first, the fire was tame, but soon it began to rage, and in no time, it had covered the entirety of the lair.

Laney, who was standing not far from the man, was surprisingly fine without any effect from the raging flame. The flame didnʼt burn the body, but it burned the blood of the user and the enemy.
