The First Store System

Chapter 1341: Second Store Upgrade Quest(9)

After waiting for a while, it was Sirishʼs turn. He decided to follow the sequence in which he had pulled out the cards and then placed the [Abyssal Severance] skill card in the card compartment.

The next moment, Sirish found his consciousness in a different environment. He stood in a battle arena with the sun about to set. There was an abundance of the element of darkness in the atmosphere despite the area still being visible.

In front of Sirish stood his opponent for the day. Sirish recognized the race of the man immediately, as it was none other than a member of Xonaris.

Sirish found his body out of his control, and it wasnʼt strange to him since Aakesh had already explained the basics of the experience session.

The opponent attacked, and Sirishʼs body acted at the same time. The next moment, a wave of darkness appeared around him. In no time, the area within a range of ten meters turned pitch black with no senses working. It was similar to an abyss descending on the arena.

Following that, the pitch-black darkness suddenly began to recede. It was a slow but quick process. Sirish could see the darkness receding, but quicker than the blink of an eye, it had completely receded into his hand.

Around his right hand, an intense, pitch-black blade appeared. There were tremors in the fabric of the space around the darkness.

The next moment, the opponent reached Sirish. Sirishʼs body instinctively acted, and his hands passed the opponent.

Sirishʼs consciousness couldnʼt help but cry in exclamation since he found that his hand was even faster than his thought speed. Since he hadnʼt reached that stage, it was clear that the skill had contributed to a severalfold increase in agility.

Even though his hands had gone through the opponentʼs heart, the enemy was still standing and breathing. But it didnʼt downplay the result, as the opponentʼs eyes had dimmed and soon completely withered.

It wasnʼt the end, as after the spirit died, the opponentʼs physical body slowly faded. In no time, the opponent had disappeared from the arena, with his body and spirit disappearing from the world.

The skill attacked the spirit first and then the body, resulting in complete death, leaving no chance of a miraculous revival.

The next moment, a white light passed in the arena, and after that, Sirish found his consciousness back inside the store.

He was impressed with the experience, so he immediately focused on the screen on the semi-pillar. Not long after, content started appearing on it, and it was immediately permanently engraved in his mind.

[Skill: Abyssal Severance

Level: God

Cultivator: Early to Peak Supreme God

Compatibility: 76%

Training Time: Eighteen thousand four hundred fifty-eight Years.]

Sirish was surprised to find that his compatibility with the skill was less than 80 percent. Xonaris were known for their great control of the elements of darkness and death, with even an average member of the race having a compatibility in the range of sixty percent.

Sirish had the purest bloodline of the race, so his compatibility with the skill should be higher. But soon he stopped focusing much on that since the screen contained the compatibility with the skill.

The concept of severance used in the skill wasnʼt his forte, so it was expected to have lower compatibility.

The eighteen thousand years he saw on the screen were more than one hundred times as long as the time he had spent in the Sacred Dimension. Sirish didnʼt think that he would have ascended to the Primordial Dimension in that amount of time, as even a small breakthrough after passing the Sacred Emperor level could take tens of thousands of years.

Sirish then stopped thinking about the training time and returned his focus to what he was doing. He then pulled out the [Abyssal Severance] card and placed the [Umbral Sanctum] in place of that.

Sirishʼs consciousness left the store and found him in a different environment. As far as his eyes could see, there was an ocean of enemies in front of him. Even the weakest of the bunch was a Lesser God level cultivator, while there were tens of thousands of creatures at the Supreme God level.

It wasnʼt the first time for Sirish to see an army like that, so he didnʼt feel much shock at the scene in front of him.

The next moment, the ocean of creatures roared, creating shocking damage just from the sound. Sirishʼs body stood there unfazed by the quantity of the opponent.

There was a hint of disdain in Sirishʼs eyes when he looked at the leader of the enemy. The enemy leader was easily provoked by Sirishʼs actions.

It roared and ordered its subordinates to charge at Sirish with their strongest skills.

Sirish remained unfazed, but at the same time, he activated [Umbral Sanctum]. The next moment, the element of darkness in the environment began to gather around him as if a vortex had opened there.

The element of darkness didnʼt gather to form a barrier around him, but it began to create a silhouette of a temple.

It wasnʼt completely formed, and a blurry projection of the temple appeared behind him. Beads of sweat appeared on Sirishʼs forehead since the skill had consumed enormous energy just to create the projection of the temple.

When Sirishʼs consciousness saw the blurry temple, an urge to kneel and pray appeared in his mind. It wasnʼt a strong urge, so Sirish easily trumped it.

At that time, the enemy and their attacks had reached him. Even though the projection was behind Sirish and there was nothing ahead of him to defend against, the attacks stopped a meter away from him. It was as if an invisible barrier was placed around him.

It was not only in the front but also left and right. No matter how strong and how many attacks were unleashed by the enemies in all directions, the attacks failed to cross the invisible barrier of one meter around Sirish.

Even the enemyʼs bodies were thrown out when they tried to cross that range. It was as if the area rejected them.

A sanctum was a private, sacred place, and no one could break that. The same happened with Sirishʼs enemies.

The range of one meter around him in all directions was declared his sanctum, and no one could walk into it.

When one hour passed, the enemies around him suddenly exploded, creating a large amount of destruction and gore.

The sanctum around Sirish shook for the first time, but it was able to bear the complete assault, and Sirish survived without even a little scratch from injury.

The sanctum finally began to fade, and soon, the area had returned to tranquility, and the projection had disappeared.

At that time, Sirish looked thinner than ever since maintaining the skill for that long required a vast amount of energy.

The next moment, a white light covered Sirish, and his consciousness returned to the store.

After completing the experience session, Sirish immediately focused on the screen.

[Skill: Umbral Sanctum

Level: God

Cultivator: Early to Peak Supreme God

Compatibility: 79%

Training Time: Fifteen thousand four hundred forty-seven years.]

Time flew by. Even though more than an hour had passed in the experience session, only a few seconds had passed in reality.

It was finally time for Sirish to experience the best skill he chose for himself, [Reaperʼs Embrace].

Sirish placed the skill card, and then his consciousness traveled to a different environment.

Sirish was in the middle of an active battle where he seemed to be on the losing end while the opponent seemed overwhelmingly stronger.

Sirishʼs body had acted immediately as soon as the experience session began and activated [Reaperʼs Embrace]. It was the only option for Sirish to survive and win.

The next moment, an ethereal wave of darkness appeared around him. Following that, radiant light particles also appeared, making him the balancer of light and darkness.

As the two elements appeared, the injury around his body began to heal, pulsing with new energy.

Sirishʼs consciousness couldnʼt help but moan in pleasure, as the feeling was too comfortable.

Unlike his consciousness, his body didnʼt lose itself in the illusion and activated [Reaperʼs Resurgence], the supporting ability of the skill.

The next moment, a deathly light washed over him, and his injuries began to heal at a visible rate. The enemy couldnʼt just let all of it happen and lose the opportunity for victory it had gained from the opponent, so it also attacked.

The supporting ability not only helped in faster recovery but also increased the userʼs defense. Since Sirish didnʼt have enough body capability to activate the attacking ability of the skill, he had no choice but to keep defending.

His agility had also heightened, so he was quicker than before and dodged the attacks. But the opponent not only increased the intensity but also the number of strikes.

Sirish kept defending and dodging, and once his body reached a state where it would be able to handle the attacking ability, he stopped.

It was now time to put the attacking ability to use, and he did, activating [Reaperʼs Grasp]. The next moment, a storm of deathly energy erupted, and being the source of it all, he had to bear the pressure entirely. The injuries that had healed began to open up and reach an even worse state.

But a storm of deathly energy had gathered around his hand. Once it had reached its limit, Sirish attacked.
