The First Store System

Chapter 1314: Selecting the Candidate(1)

[Host, the sun is about to rise!]

The systemʼs alert rang inside Aakeshʼs ears, and he opened his eyes. Out of habit, he looked to his left and was surprised to find a screen waiting there for him.

Aakesh had asked the system only to inform him of the absorption rate if there was any progress. The last time Aakesh saw the screen was only several days ago, so it was surprising to see a screen that quickly.

Aakesh then waved his hands, and the screen disappeared. He then stood up and summoned the door to his room.

Time flew by, and the sun rose on Thorr and its nearby cities.

As the first ray of sunlight peered through the cover of darkness, numerous people in front of a building on 17th Street smiled since it was time for the store to open its door.

That day was bound to be different for Aakesh and the other inhabitants of the Sacred Dimension. The other inhabitants had no idea what was different, but since Aakesh was going to make the day different, he knew. He had set that day as the deadline for finding a qualified applicant for the second store upgrade quest, and whoever Aakesh chose would undoubtedly stand out in the future in the eyes of others.

After opening the door, Aakesh was greeted with the sight of numerous customers standing outside the store. Their eyes suddenly shone in excitement when they saw Aakesh.

Aakesh didnʼt let them wait any longer and turned around, returning to his chair. It was an invitation, and the numerous customers thronged the store like a raging tide.

In no time, the hundred thousand plus customers were inside the store, with some of them being lucky enough to get shrouded in golden light.

Time flew by, and around an hour had passed since the day for the store began.

Aakesh had gotten a moment without any customers, so he summoned the quest screen. The next moment, a blue screen containing the details of the second store upgrade mission floated in front of him.

The screen was only visible to him, so the customer approaching Aakesh didnʼt notice it. The time required for the customer to reach him was more than enough for Aakesh to read the details again, so he immediately focused on the screen.

[Mission Sequence: Second

Mission Objective: Upgrade of the store to Level 3

…

Mission Detail: Host, the storeʼs name is ʼThe First Storeʼ. As its name suggests, the goal of the store is to become the first store for every living being, irrespective of their situation. How could the store prove itself better than by changing the destiny of the customer and showing the benefits of the store to the world?

Select one Divine Transformation level customer present in Thorr City and make them the ruler of a Kingdom without using your authority as the store owner but only with the help of the storeʼs products

Duration: Thirty years,

Mission Reward: Upgrade of Authority, an Assistant,...etc.

Failure Punishment: None.]

One month had already passed in the required duration of thirty years, so Aakesh only had 359 months left.

Since Aakeshʼs selection should be a Divine Transformation customer present in Thorr City, and only someone above True God level could be strong enough to find a territory, the task wasnʼt easy.

It would have been easy if someone from any of the top-level races had become a resident of the city. Even half the required time would be enough for them to reach the True God level from the Divine Transformation level.

At that moment, Laney was at the forefront of the candidates, but since Aakesh had given her a test, her future depended on that. Fortunately for Aakesh, Laneyʼs father was intelligent and had allowed Laney to live in Thorr City to help her stay within travel distance of the store. Aakesh also had a role to play in that since he could only choose someone residing in Thorr City. He had indirectly nudged Laney toward requesting her father stay in the city.

If she had failed, even if she passed Aakeshʼs test, she wouldnʼt be eligible to become a candidate.

The system didnʼt care about how long the participant had resided there. It only considered that once Aakesh selected the candidate, they should be living in Thorr City. Aakesh used that in his favor to search for a suitable candidate.

”Miss, why are you so tense?” Sili asked with a worried expression on her face.

Sili was one of Laneyʼs maids, selected by Laneyʼs father to live with her in Thorr City. Sili asked the question because Laney had been acting weirdly since the previous night.

Laney had been acting as if she was on the verge of losing something dear.

”Leave me alone!” Instead of answering Sili, Laney coldly ordered her maid to leave the room.

Sili wanted to stay since if anything happened to Laney, they would be the ones to bear the wrath of the King, but Laneyʼs words contained no chance of refusal. She had no choice but to leave the room.

Once Sili left the room, Laney sat down, despondent. At that time, she should have been inside Panagea, but there was a test deadline waiting for her.

Laney still remembered how proudly she had told the store owner, whom she called big brother, that she would pass his test like she summoned the Yellow King.

The next moment, Laney took out the beast card and summoned the Yellow King. Laney tightly hugged it after the beast appeared, not knowing what face to show the store owner. She was only a child and didnʼt want to meet her big brother with failure.

Laney then took a deep breath and asked the Yellow King to help her boost her mind. Once her mind was cleared of all stresses, she took a deep breath and sat down in a meditative posture as detailed in the cultivation art.

She was close yet very far from breaking through the first level of the cultivation art. Laney was well aware that such tasks could not be completed in a hurry since it would prove detrimental to the cultivator.

Laney then followed the steps as told in the cultivation art and began to channel her energy following the route.

While Laney was trying her best to pass Aakeshʼs test, he was busy in conversation with a new customer.

”There are currently six products available in the store. They are pills, weapons, beasts, cultivation arts, skills, and Panagea…” Aakesh introduced the six products and their basic details to the man once he asked the question.

The man intently listened to every word said by Aakesh, and once Aakesh had completed the introduction, he immediately asked to enter Panagea like the majority of the new customers.

”You canʼt enter Panagea for the day. All the spots had already been booked for the day,” Aakesh expressionlessly informed the man, pointing at the large number of customers sitting in the waiting corner.

Aakesh wanted the Panagea quest to be over quickly so the number of portals would grow, but that was out of his control.

The Panagea quest running at that time was more than a century away from completion, so until that time, it would continue to be sold out in the first several minutes after the storeʼs opening.

The man was disappointed to learn that and even tried to pay Aakesh double the amount so that he could enter Panagea.

Fortunately for the man, Aakesh didnʼt throw him out immediately and pointed at the rule board. The man understood Aakeshʼs warning and didnʼt repeat the same request.

Since Panagea was out of the question, he focused on the next product. His cultivation was peak True God, and he was the crown prince of the ruling Kingdom on planet Curiel.

The man then asked about the Beast Summoner Device since it was a product that impressed every living being irrespective of their level.

Selling beasts was nothing new since top organizations were dealing in that business for countless years now. What made the beast from the store different was the quality of the beast.

After learning about the beast, the man went to the beastʼs room and joined the second pillar.

Even though he came from the ruling Kingdom of the planet, his wealth was nothing much since the planet was a backward one, devoid of top resources.

To solve the money issue, the man decided only to purchase a True God beast for him.

The man looked at the beast card in his hand and decided to buy the Flame Python, considering his wealth and the skills on the card.
