The First Store System

Chapter 1339: Second Store Upgrade Quest(7)

When Sirish entered the room, he noticed the numerous murals painted across the wall. Different murals showed different skills in use.

Sirish looked at a few of them and then focused his attention on the counters. His cultivation was early Sacred King, while the store only had items for up to Supreme God cultivators, so he had to drop one level and go for the Supreme God level skills.

As for the level of the skills, Sirish decided to go for God level for each of the five types. If the store allowed, he wanted to buy two God level skills each for the two elements he controlled, but unfortunately, a customer could only buy one skill of one level for each type for each cultivation level.

Sirish reached out to the last shelf in the bottom row, and when he pulled his hand out, there was a skill card in it.

[Name: Necrotic Sunder

…

Price: Nine hundred fifty thousand supreme Sacred stones.]

Sirish read the details of the skill. It was an excellent skill and could unleash immense destruction when activated, but Sirish didnʼt like it at all.

Sirish was someone who favored close combat skills, whereas the skill card in his hand was an AoE skill, which wasnʼt something he desired.

He then returned the card and reached for another one. For some reason, Sirish kept getting skills from the death element, and the majority of those were AoE. He got a close combat skill, but that didnʼt impress him at all.

Time flew by, and Sirish finally pulled out a skill related to the darkness element, and as luck would have it, it was the optimal skill Sirish was looking for.

[Name: Abyssal Severance

Type: Attack

Level: God

Cultivation Level: Early to Peak Supreme God

Effect: Unleashes a swift and devastating strike that severs both body and spirit

Description: The user harnesses the consuming essence of darkness to unleash a swift and devastating strike that severs both the body and the spirit of a single enemy in close combat. This skill transforms the user into an embodiment of the abyss, delivering a strike that leaves adversaries shattered in body and soul.

The skill demands enormous energy usage and continuous focus. Prolonged use of the skill could put the user to sleep and cause an extended recovery period.

Price: Eight hundred fifty thousand supreme Sacred stones.]

Sirish read the details with focus. He found that the price of the skill was one hundred thousand supreme Sacred stones fewer than the cost of [Necrotic Sunder]. It showed that the former skill was better than [Abyssal Severance], but Sirish felt no hesitation despite that.

Now that his purchase for the God level attacking skill was complete, he brought his focus to the second row from the bottom.

He similarly reached for the last shelf, and when he pulled his hand out, there was a skill card.

Sirish didnʼt have to return the card since it was what he wanted, and it excited him even more than [Abyssal Severance].

[Name: Umbral Sanctum

Type: Defense

Level: God

Cultivation Level: Early to Peak Supreme God

Effect: Constructs an impregnable sanctum of darkness that shields against all forms of harm

Description: The user harnesses the enigmatic essence of darkness to construct an impregnable sanctum that offers unparalleled defense against all forms of harm. This skill forms a protective enclave of shadow that envelops the user, rendering them virtually invulnerable to attacks.

The skill demands mastery over the element of darkness and precise control over the sanctumʼs dynamics. Sustaining the skill requires continuous focus and considerable energy.

Price: Nine hundred ninety thousand supreme Sacred stones.]

It was of the darkness element, and the reason the skill excited him more was because the skill wasnʼt new to him.

When he was exchanging the skills from the Xonarisʼs library, he saw [Umbral Sanctum] there.

It was one of the most expensive skills for users in the cultivation range of Higher God to Sacred Emperor. Sirish wanted the skill, but unfortunately for him, he didnʼt have the required value point.

But the store helped him get the skill by paying in Sacred stones. There was no comparison between Value Points and Sacred stones since the latter was replenishable and easily earned.

It was an immediate decision for him, and it was now time for him to proceed to the next row, referring to movement type skills.

He reached for the last shelf and then pulled his hand out. He read the details on the skill card.

It was a skill related to the element of darkness, but unlike the last two summonings, at that time, the skill wasnʼt liked by Sirish. He immediately returned the card and pulled out another one.

While Sirish was trying to find a desired movement type skill, Laney was going through her quest.

When she accepted the quest, her primary purpose for it was the Ceru herb. Unfortunately, things didnʼt go her way, and when she reached there, she found out that someone had already obtained the herb.

Her motive for coming to the town was spoiled, so her mood turned irritated. It showed in the quest, as she almost got into a fight with the leader of the companion group.

”I understand that whatever reason you have come here for has failed, but you have to understand that you have accepted the quest,” The leader tried to make Laney understand.

It wasnʼt difficult for the leader to find out why Laneyʼs mood had turned irritated. It happened suddenly and in the area where the last sighting of the Ceru herb happened.

Laney also knew that, but she was only a young girl, and it wasnʼt easy for her to handle the failure of a several month long goal.

She had almost ruined her future to pass the test given by Aakesh. Even though she thought she did it so that Aakesh wouldnʼt be disappointed with her. As time passed, she understood that she hated failing.

It wasnʼt easy for her to accept that the Ceru herb was taken when she was close to it. As giving up on the quest was no longer an option, she repeatedly tried to calm herself down. The leader of the group also helped her with that.
