Chapter 316: Control of Strength

Unfortunately for Aakesh, he wasnʼt able to handle thousands of chanted arrows at the same time, so as a result, Aakesh died in the end, marking his second failure in conquering the fort.

After his death, the fort and the land around it repaired itself back to its unharmed phase, and all the hundreds of thousands of soldiers that had died in the hands of Aakesh and his arrows got revived.

Aakesh wasnʼt there to see it, as after his death, he had returned to the selection area. It has only been around twenty minutes since he entered here, and Lilyʼs training will at least continue for an hour, so there was still a lot of time left for Aakesh to ponder.

Aakesh could patiently wait for the hour to end and Lily to return in the best case, or he could train and further advance his skills, especially after todayʼs battle in the fort. Aakesh still remembered that he had to use a chanting arrow to get on the upper side in the fight. If not for the chanting arrows, Aakesh wouldʼve lost badly since the spearmen wouldʼve only grown stronger.

Aakesh had also noticed during the battle that his shooting rate was growing at a visible rate, showing that he still could better himself before reaching his current body limit.

If Aakesh were to give a precise number for the average of the arrows he could shoot in a second, it would be 1672 after todayʼs growth. Before the battle, his average shooting rate was 1139 per second.

If he were to give his all, he could take the shooting rate to 1846 arrows per second.

For someone in the Primal dimension, this level of shooting rate was a sign of a genius. Even Elasha could only shoot around 700 arrows per second. But for Aakesh, who fought creatures belonging to the first three dimensions, this kind of shooting rate wasnʼt enough.

If he wanted to conquer the fort without many efforts, he needed his average shooting rate to grow to at least 3000 arrows per second.

Aakesh had already decided to fight the organization Nielle after conquering the fort, so he couldnʼt wait for his shooting rate to grow by that much. It would at least take a month of regular training, if not years, to reach that stage.

Aakesh needed to make up for the loss created by a slow shooting rate in other ways if he wanted to conquer the fort.

He wanted to conquer the fort in five turns, so there were only three more turns left for him to do it. And there were only two days left for him to make up for the loss of slow shooting rate if he were to enter the training area regularly every day.

Since there were still around forty minutes left, Aakesh decided to do another training.

The next moment, training environments related to archery appeared in his mind. A few seconds later, he finally found what he was looking for.

He selected his chosen environment, and the next moment, he disappeared from the selection area and appeared in an unfamiliar environment.

Aakesh had decided to train the control of his release strength to make up for the slow shooting rate. Since he had unlimited endurance, his muscles would never get tired, so it was the easiest way for Aakesh to make up for the loss.

Aakesh was currently in a closed environment. Countless gems, the size of a tennis ball engraved on the terrace, acting as the light source, making the scene as clear as a day.

In front of Aakesh, there was a bullseye. But unlike the regular bullseye, here, there was only a single dot.

The dot was only big enough for an arrow with a needle arrowhead to completely pass through.

Aakesh then noticed the bow in his hands. Even though it looked the same as before, he could clearly feel that what he had was nothing more than an ordinary bow.

Aakesh also noticed a quiver tied on his shoulders. Ordinary arrows with needle arrowheads filled the quiver.

From the quiver, Aakesh got the feeling of infinite. He didnʼt have to think for long as he knew the quiver had an unlimited number of arrows in it.

The next moment, the content of the training appeared inside his head.

The tiny dot in the bullseye will release an arrow that would have a random strength. Aakesh didnʼt have to do much. He only had to use the same amount of strength and release an arrow from the quiver.

If his shooting strength were less than the arrow released by the bullseye, the arrow would pierce his throat. It will not kill him, but the pain will be unbearable.

If his strength exceeded the arrow, his arrow would hit the bullseye, which in turn would release an arrow strong enough to kill him in a single shot.

Only if Aakesh succeeded in matching the strength of the arrow, will he save himself from an unbearable amount of pain or death. Then the bullseye will release another arrow with either a decrease or increase of strength. The process of release will be completely random.

As for the strength, it would be up to Aakesh to judge the strength of the arrow coming at him.

Aakesh had only read the contents of the training when suddenly a bell rang in the area, marking the start of the training.

”Whoosh!”

An arrow tearing through the air flew at Aakesh from the bullseye. Aakesh didnʼt wait, took out an arrow from his quiver, nocked it, stretched the bowstring using his right hand, and released it.

”Clang!”

The sound of metallic clash rang in the hall as both the arrows clashed.

Right after its clash, the arrow shot by Aakesh forced the other one back into the bullseye.

Aakesh couldnʼt help but heave a disappointed sigh as his shooting strength wasnʼt even close to the other arrowʼs strength, seeing how quickly his arrow forced it into the bullseye.

Aakesh hadnʼt even closed his eyes when an arrow quick and strong enough got released from the bullseye and pierced Aakeshʼs heart.

”Thud!”

A lifeless Aakesh crashed on the ground with a loud sound since it was instant death. The system didnʼt want to torture Aakesh, so any death in the training area was always instant.

Time flew by, and several seconds passed.

”Clang!”
