One-Eyed Monster

The birth of the holy robe has added another combat strength to the Kangen Family. The young Gray Robes who were hiding below, trembling with fear, have suddenly become more confident. With the holy robe backing them, it’s hard not to be confident!

Igor and Kadi hadn’t yet recovered from this change, and suddenly, a fiery red flame appeared beside them.

It was the Immortal Bird launching an attack on them.

What’s going on!

Weren’t we fighting side by side just now? Why have things suddenly turned hostile?

Just because you advanced to the holy robe, it doesn’t mean you can attack us!

Igor and Kadi’s thoughts were in an uproar, mostly due to their inability to understand the current situation.

While evading the flames, they pondered, thinking this moment should be a time for celebration. Why have they suddenly launched an attack on us? Advancing to the holy robe is a joyous occasion for everyone, but why aren’t they letting us share in this joy!

”Can we, stop for a moment!” Igor shouted loudly, puzzled by the situation, feeling it shouldn’t be this awkward!

”Why target us? We’ve been helping you just now!” Kadi felt this was unreasonable, simply repaying kindness with enmity!

But Patrick seemed uninterested in what they were saying, continuing to command his Phoenix to attack them.

”Keep this up and we’ll fight back!” Igor dodged a flame and then shouted loudly.

”Just because you’ve turned colorful doesn’t mean we’re afraid of you; it’s not like we’ve never seen colors before!” Kadi quickly followed Igor in speaking.

Patrick remained silent, not because he didn’t want to speak, but because he was completely sustaining himself. The flame from the Phoenix was only at about thirty percent of its power. This is why Igor and Kadi could easily continue chattering away.

Although advancing to the holy robe means a considerable power increase, it’s also a process that exhausts spirit power and physical strength. After this, the person who advanced needs to recuperate for a while, unlike the advancement of lower levels from Black Robe to Gray Robe, or Gray Robe to White Robe, which doesn’t consume much physical strength, only spirit power. For the holy robe, the advancement requires both.

Thus, Patrick had no strength to speak; he only knew these two teenagers were uninvited guests who kicked open the door of the Kangen Family and attracted the Blue Flame!

Patrick’s flame attacks were decreasing in power, making Igor and Kadi aware of the situation.

Igor and Kadi no longer needed to dodge left and right like before; they could easily repel the attacks with a swing of their arms.

”What kind of person are you, not distinguishing between good or bad, after we helped you so much, now you turned on us, what’s the meaning of this?” Kadi asked, perplexed.

”We mentioned we’re not here to cause trouble; we simply wanted you to release Coban Kangen.” Igor continued to explain the purpose of their visit.

Igor and the others still didn’t know what was happening outside; they had no idea while entangled with this Blue Flame creature, various fights were occurring outside as well.

”There’s been a misunderstanding. Stop targeting us!” Igor hoped to persuade the newly advanced holy robe housekeeper.

Actually, if Igor and others were truly heartless villains, they would have already taken those nearby young Gray Robes as hostages to threaten Patrick. Instead, they were patiently trying to negotiate, hoping for a peaceful resolution.

Igor and the others wished for everyone to resolve the misunderstandings and become good friends again.

However, Patrick didn’t think the same way. Although he knew the two had no ill intent, he couldn’t swallow down his frustration. He could overlook testing Igor and Kadi since the Kangen Family wasn’t his alone. But he had to deal with Kadi kicking the door because he was the only housekeeper of the Kangen Family!

This incident was unforgivable.

Yet he didn’t have time to articulate these principles because he had reached a critical point physically, barely holding on was already quite remarkable.

He also wondered what the clan leader and others were doing. With such incidents happening at the main gate of the Kangen Family, wasn’t anyone going to manage it...

While considering this, a whirlwind came swirling, followed by a middle-aged man in a black and white striped robe appearing before him.

Finally arrived… Patrick suddenly felt limp, with the Phoenix beneath him turning into sparks in an instant, his body helplessly dropping down.

Just as he was about to collapse to the ground, the newly arrived middle-aged man grabbed him with one hand.

”Our housekeeper has worked hard!” The middle-aged man said lightly, pain evident.

”Clan leader!” The young Gray Robes were about to cry; they had been hiding behind, unable to do anything, feeling somewhat embarrassed. The entire scene was supported solely by Patrick the Housekeeper; this certainly has been a struggle for him.

”Leave the matters below to us!” The middle-aged man was Will Kangen, the young leader of the Kangen Family. Now the black and white robe he wore suddenly turned into red and blue stripes.

Igor and Kadi gulped simultaneously; the Kangen Family’s clan leader was here, showing how serious the misunderstanding had become!

Of course, there was more. Shortly thereafter, various wizards appeared at the gate of the Kangen family, with some brightly colored ones standing out, yet most were White Robes.

These were the Kangen Family’s top experts.

Obviously, they had finished the outside battle and all arrived here.

”Such a big scene!” Kadi lamented as he looked around.

Unintentionally, Kadi noticed a White Robe carrying someone whose silhouette they were quite familiar with.

If it wasn’t Coban Kangen being carried, who else would it be?

Seeing Coban Kangen, Kadi and Igor snapped back to reality: ”We mean no harm by coming here.”

”Hmph!” Will the Young Family Leader disregarded them, scoffing before settling Patrick aside, then staring back at Igor and Kadi with eyes that froze the scalp.

”It’s all a misunderstanding!”

”Misunderstanding?” Will scanned Igor and Kadi with scorching eyes, seemingly dismissing their explanation.

”Yes, a misunderstanding, you captured our friend, we only came here wanting you to release our friend!” Kadi spoke bluntly, now fully accustomed to the situation, no amount of intimidation bothered him anymore.

”They say it’s a misunderstanding, do you all think it’s a misunderstanding?” Will spread his hands, looking around at his clansmen, seeking their opinion.

Hehehe, haha.

His clansmen burst into laughter, obviously providing a negative answer.
