One-Eyed Monster

Although Lord Bern always wanted to meet this Death God again, the Death God never appeared again.

Even though the Death God never sought him out, his commands were unceasing.

Lord Bern did not regret becoming enslaved, for he had tasted the sweetness of it.

His lifespan was extended, nearing ninety, which on the Yowein Continent was considered a ripe old age.

The Death God did not deceive him; as long as he collected Spirit Cores for the Death God, he could experience the power of eternal life.

He prayed daily—not for blessings, but for commands from the Death God.

Once those commands were transmitted from that Spirit Core, he would know what to do, and those Adventurers with Class he recruited always bowed to the Gold coins, the strength of the mercenaries always brought him significant profits.

He wasn’t particularly shrewd, just resourceful, and everything was commanded by the Spirit Core.

This Spirit Core was always with him; he treated it like a gemstone, and whenever it came, the Death God’s commands would be transmitted.

When the Death God instructed him to purchase certain mercenaries to form a personal guard, he bought them to serve as his private guard,

when the Death God instructed him to kill a certain politician, he would devise ways to make that politician die accidentally.

The power of money wasn’t all-powerful, but it helped him accomplish many things.

Some tasks didn’t require his direct involvement; he just needed to spend Gold coins.

No one knew his true motives; his Gold coins often silenced many mouths.

Some occurrences were simply magical; in others’ eyes, he became a peculiar old man, his eldest son had gone to the Eternal Tranquility Realm before him, yet he was still robust and doing all sorts of business in Bistal.

Often people said he was an old monster, but he didn’t mind, for he knew he would be eternal, while others were merely passing visitors in this world.

The Spirit Core always controlled him; he was a servant, kneeling before eternal life.

Just like the Spirit Core, he began to despise those Scholars, thinking the books they wrote were harmful.

He believed that everyone should serve them, for they were eternal beings.

After about forty years of operation, his mercenary empire had gradually taken shape; it seemed that if he wished, he could have his mercenaries attack the empire’s guards…

However, he didn’t do so because the Death God hadn’t given him such commands.

His task was to continuously collect Spirit Cores, various Spirit Cores.

No need for him to act personally; he just needed to bring people to the designated place.

Gradually, he collected more and more Spirit Cores for the Death God, and the rewards from the Death God increased.

The mercenaries were instantly dispersed by the Death God; the Death God commanded him to build his own forces.

Thus, the Circus was born.

Of course, this was also in the past two years, the Circus developed rapidly but still had uneven Spirit Core quality, so the power wasn’t as strong as imagined.

The life of servitude was sorrowful; he essentially gave up his freedom, unable to do anything he wanted before attaining eternal life.

He didn’t even attend his son’s funeral.

Lord Bern only desired eternal life; he had already sacrificed everything for it.

Thus, he would not abandon this pursuit no matter what.

The demise of the Circus executor left him a bit bewildered. He felt a slight unease, but it was only a minuscule sense; he wasn’t afraid because he believed the Death God would guide him.

This guidance would help him through this hurdle.

Though, the Death God had not contacted him for a while.

This time, the enemy had already arrived at his doorstep.

The Circus’s combat power was no match; he had to take action personally.

As for the ability Edmirs spoke of, it was all nonsense; persuasion was just for children to hear, only power is the bridge to eternity, everything else is nonsense.

He originally didn’t want to use this method early, as it was used only in dire situations, but it was the explanation given by the Death God.

But now, he couldn’t worry about so much; all information indicates those two youths are not ordinary, he must take them seriously.

Even the Circus’s Clown Puppet Master and Animal Trainer failed; they must be tough adversaries, he must use that trump card.

Concentrate all energy, gather all of the Death God’s gifts onto one person!

He knew making this decision was agonizing, but after nurturing slaves for so long, it was time for them to play a role.

Lord Bern crushed the Spirit Cores beside him one by one, then stood up and headed to his small building.

Within the building’s basement, there was an ice cellar; cold air rushed in as the ice cellar door opened.

This ice cellar was externally presented as Lord Bern’s wine storage, but in truth, it had another purpose.

”Didn’t expect to use it so soon, thought it’d be used at the time of completion.”

Lord Bern wasn’t afraid of the icy chill, he walked to the depths; deeper inside the ice cellar was an ice coffin, in which lay a robust body.

”Originally saved for the moment of eternal life, it’s now unusable; you must take stage prematurely.” Lord Bern sighed, and the energies from the crushed Spirit Cores gathered at the Spirit Core on his chest, the one the Death God bestowed upon him.

”Go, occupy this perfect body, then find those two youths, and seize the Craftsman Spirit from their hands!” Lord Bern said plainly.

The gathered energy, like a colorful pillar of water, directly injected into the robust body, and soon the body became lively.

”Go, this is the power of rebirth, such power suits a body like this!”

The robust body began to move slowly, its eyes glowed blue, and then the entire body began transforming hugely.

Horns grew atop the head, arms split into several, feet became more massive, completely transforming into a monster.

Once a handsome man, now an ugly monster!

The light flashing from the Spirit Core on Lord Bern’s chest gradually dimmed, signaling the completion of the mission.

”Be sure to bring them all back!” Lord Bern gritted his teeth; this was his final card, and he felt a bit reluctant.

Bang! The ice coffin was shattered by the monster, which swiftly crawled out, horns on its head and arms multiplied.

The monster moved with incredible agility, eyes gleaming blue, uttered not a word, proceeded straight outside…
