One-Eyed Monster

Kuyi Tulan did not speak.

He was already unwilling to mention this matter again. Although on the surface, the Alchemy Workshop was victorious, in reality, they were still on the starting line.

The entire Black Crow was nothing more than something created by Willem alone, with all its members under Willem’s command. When Willem directed them to go left, they went left; when he led them to destruction, they were destroyed.

This battle was not won by the Alchemy Workshop, but rather because Willem allowed the Alchemy Workshop to win.

Kuyi Tulan still remembered that conversation, which turned him into what he is today.

The unknown world he had to explore, not just explore, but conquer!

Willem was just a bridge; he had to go through Willem to withstand that world, so now he would obey Willem in everything.

”Leader, I will do as you said, but it seems to have wronged you!”

”Haha, we are ultimately just a shell. When the time is right, I will let you know what true immortality is and what this shell really means.”

”Yes, Leader.”

Kuyi Tulan left the basement this way. He primarily came this time to notify Willem of his enthronement. Now everything was under Willem’s arrangement, and everything was under his control. The entire Alchemy Workshop was like the previous Black Crow, no, Willem’s ambition was far beyond this; he intended to bring the entire Kayne Empire under his control.

His steps were heavy, and Kuyi Tulan looked at his worshipful subordinates with a sense of unfamiliarity. He was deceiving everyone now, but it was not his intention.

Time would prove everything; for now, he could only wait. Wait for the time to mature and wait until he had more understanding of that unknown world.

Now, he was entirely obedient to Willem, but in the future, the roles must be reversed!

Kuyi Tulan, who was conferred as Hand of the King, looked heavy-hearted, completely unlike someone he once was...

Although the entire Alchemy Workshop was in a kind of proud mood, this pride always came with danger and challenges.

At the Xinbal Cathedral, priests were already arranged to preach outside the cathedral, and the church was temporarily in a locked state. Without anyone inside the church’s permission, no one could enter.

Inside the church, a few people were either sitting or standing, including elders and middle-aged individuals, each looking solemn, seemingly discussing something important.

From their attire, these people were all noble politicians. The Empire Emblem was pinned on their chests. Such meetings, irrespective of identity, seemed to only take place in the King’s council chamber. However, now such a thing happened in a cathedral; it seemed incredible to everyone.

The people who came here were governors from various imperial capitals and some leaders of organizations. They gathered here because they all received a secret letter.

The letter was very brief, merely directing them to assemble in this great hall.

”Speaking of which, who rallied such a big event and gathered everyone here?” said a middle-aged man, leaning on the church bench with legs crossed, and with a posture devoid of manners.

”There’s no need to rush, Your Highness. I’m sure there will be an explanation soon enough!” said an elder seated beside the middle-aged man, stroking his beard unhurriedly. This elder was the Housekeeper of Burstan, and the unruly middle-aged man on the bench was Prince Charles, brother to King Kayne.

The people who came to this cathedral were the noble dignitaries of the Kayne Empire. Among them, Charles had the highest status as a member of the royal family. Although Charles no longer lived in Xinbal and had moved to coastal Burstan, no matter what, he was still a member of the royal family.

Soon, the door of the church opened, and an elderly white-haired man entered escorted by two burly League Guards.

”The one coming through the main entrance should be the principal here. Is this secret letter written by this old fellow?” Charles raised an eyebrow, scrutinizing the elder.

”This is the royal scribe, Your Highness. You should call him Teacher Benjamin!” the housekeeper beside Charles continued to remind the royal family member.

”Oh, it’s this old fellow. Why did he gather everyone here?” Charles frowned, seemingly sure that nothing good would come next.

Soon, Benjamin stood at the podium escorted by two League Guards, coughing twice to clear his throat.

”Everyone, please sit down, why are you standing here?”

Only Charles remained seated on the bench; everyone else stood there without moving.

”We are fine standing!” one person in the crowd replied. Clearly, they could not sit on equal footing with a member of the royal family. Benjamin should understand this reason, so why did he still say such words?

”Since everyone knows the etiquettes they should adhere to, why did no one raise even the slightest objection at the enthronement ceremony today?” Benjamin said, his tone filled with anger.

”That is the will of His Majesty!” someone retorted.

”Humph, will. Everyone gathered here is the pillar of the Empire—Governor Lena of Star Court, Governor Rostov of Luona, Lady Masta of North Shore, Lord Popovich of Bistal City—do you all think elevating Hand of the King is the right thing to do?”

”That is the will of His Majesty...” someone still softly said, but the confidence was evidently no longer as strong.

”Is granting all the powers of the council chamber to a single person the right thing to do?” Benjamin continued to ask.

”The Empire should not be dictated by one person, but surely His Majesty has his reasons for doing so,” Governor Lena of Star Court softly said.

”Governor Lena, please tell what rationale His Majesty has for doing this!” Benjamin glared angrily.

”This...” Lena was at a loss for words.

”This is because of the remarkable achievements of the Alchemy Workshop in recent years!” Rostov suddenly cut in. Among this group, apart from Prince Charles, he was the youngest.

”Remarkable achievements, what achievements—turning ordinary people into monsters is also considered an achievement!” Benjamin directed his furious gaze at Rostov.

”The scribe is right; this is not an achievement—it is the beginning of a disaster.” Lady Masta echoed. She wielded power over North Shore, and although she did not hold the official title of governor, everyone knew the entire North Shore was under her control.

”Regardless of anything, the Alchemy Workshop must be restrained; they are becoming too unruly!” Bistal’s Lord Popovich joined in, being the eldest among them.

Charles glanced left and right, then his mouth turned up, and he began to clap his hands.
