One-Eyed Monster

Rostov exhaled a smoke ring; he found that before His Majesty, Prince Charles, there was no secret.

In people’s impressions, His Majesty, Prince Charles, is merely a royal representative known for indulgence and idleness, characterized by his lack of curiosity in any matter.

Even when it came to feudal lands, he requested a place like Burstan, which is along the coast and devoid of foreign disputes. One can say that Prince Charles choosing such a feudal land is reflective of his personality—an enjoyment enthusiast not keen on political affairs.

The entirety of Burstan is an open port, inhabited by a variety of people, including some advantageous outsiders beyond the Three Great Empires. Thus, Burstan can truly be called a place of mixed fish and dragons, and the Empire’s potent Hunter Organization Dark Cabinet is located in Burstan.

In the eyes of outsiders, His Majesty, Prince Charles, is a prince who idles and indulges in pleasures all day long, indifferent to the Empire’s safety. Yet, any true Politician knows Burstan is not easy to manage; its people are not subjects of Kayne’s Empire, making it difficult to have them obediently heed your orders. His Majesty, Prince Charles, made the entire Imperial Capital flourish amidst his rule over Burstan, creating a safe and prosperous scenario for the residents—a task far from simple.

At least, as a governor of the Imperial Capital, His Majesty, Prince Charles, has indeed done well. Regardless, his ability to appoint individuals capable of efficiently managing the capital signifies his keen insight, regardless of whether the prince himself has a tendency to indulge in pleasures.

Presently, Prince Charles and Rostov discussed some matters; judging from the meeting’s context, it became evident this prince has been underestimated.

He skillfully orchestrated the meeting to appear coincidental, meticulously considering follow-up strategies—behaviors surely not displayed by a royal who merely seeks pleasure. Even though he has many capable individuals around, they couldn’t ensure the prince’s current composure and calmness.

His Majesty, Prince Charles, now exhibits great ease. Before anyone, he simply appears as an indulgent railway passenger joking with Lord Governor in the steam train’s middle compartment. However, no matter how playful this indulgent visitor acts, Lord Governor consistently maintains a stern demeanor.

”You do not understand my brother!” Charles spoke, ”He is obsessed with power and would never distribute it willingly.”

”Just like a child clinging to their candy, refusing ever to let go, no one can take his candy away!”

”Yet he entrusted his power to someone, which is abnormal!”

”My brother must have been bewitched; it’s very likely he is no longer himself!”

Charles’ few words profoundly shocked Rostov, but a skilled Politician adeptly controls their emotions. Now Rostov remains unfazed, periodically exhaling smoke rings. Each ring responds to His Majesty, Prince Charles, conveying his understanding of the entire situation.

”Hence, I must save my brother. I spread the news about my sister’s pregnancy to alert those ambitious ones that the Kayne Family still has its embers.”

Rostov viewed His Majesty, Prince Charles, with newfound admiration—the prince’s arrangements are well-targeted, seemingly prepared for a long time.

”In matters of political gameplay, I am aware my brother surpasses me, yet now to find my brother manipulated by an unseen foe to such an extent—I cannot tolerate it. Regardless of whether Kuyi Tulan is human or ghost, the power behind it, whatever it is, I must confront.”

”You will be my faithful backer, Lord Governor, because I know what your Yonder Travel Academy is up to.”

Rostov exhales another smoke ring, finding it surprising. The Yonder Travel Academy’s operations remain thoroughly concealed since their enemy was invisible, making it unknown to anyone, yet His Majesty, Prince Charles, somehow knows, which is undeniably surprising.

”Do not be anxious, Lord Governor; we share a common enemy. That power slowly infiltrated, and Burstan, being a mixed residency, can’t possibly remain static. Truly, don’t assume you fight alone.”

Rostov inhales deeply, refraining from speaking too much. The depth of Prince Charles’ understanding of them is astonishing, inspiring a cold sweat within Rostov. The Kayne Royal Family, indeed, can’t be underestimated; they possess ways to grasp each subordinate’s details.

Apparently, the renowned Dark Cabinet has been entirely commandeered by His Majesty, Prince Charles.

Although this appears an improbable feat, with Rostov’s years of Politician’s Sound Sensing Skill perception, it’s undoubtedly certain.

Rostov exhaled another smoke ring, expressing his commitment to fully support all of Charles’ plans.

”Well, Lord Governor, this meeting was pleasurable. We’ll communicate using Mail Birds in the future; it’s rather ironic that we aim to topple the Alchemy Workshop yet use their invention to achieve this.”

With such, His Majesty, Prince Charles, departed with exaggerated strides, leaving behind a profound back view.

Rostov’s pipe was yet unfinished...

This brief meeting contained an overwhelmingly massive volume of information.

It also redefined Rostov’s perspective on the Kayne Royal Family members.

Upon His Majesty’s enshrinement of the King’s Hand, Rostov perceived the Kayne Royal Family nearing decline; but Prince Charles’ presence signaled to Rostov that royal members continue to stand firm across the entire Empire.

Considerably, although the present King behaves enigmatically, Prince Charles appears pleasure-seeking, and Princess Juliette, detached, these royal members unfailingly endeavor to safeguard the Empire...

A multitude of tasks await, as the entire Empire, nay, the entire world anticipates profound transformations.

Luona is already prepared, at least aware of the formidable adversaries they must confront.

The emergence of His Majesty, Prince Charles, illuminated to Rostov that they indeed possess allies, igniting new hope for the world.

Governor Rostov extinguished his pipe and slowly retreated to his compartment; reconciling his inside astonishment and winds, he summoned a Mail Bird, carrying new developments—a message more unique than any prior.

Apart from the Resistors, they possessed an allied force, albeit one yet unseen by the world.

This revelation would evidently excite Sol, prompting Yonder Travel Academy to share in the enthusiasm!
