Chapter 36: MSOC: Chapter 36

”Koharu is right. Before we know Uchiha Kai’s true intentions, this kind of warning is unavoidable. With Danzo acting as the clown, it’s the best outcome,” Homura Mitokado agreed.

”Damn it, are you all senile?” The Third Hokage suddenly yelled.

”Don’t forget Minato’s report. Try not to push Uchiha Kai away. Otherwise, he will become Konoha’s number one enemy.”

His sudden outburst made Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane freeze.

”Sarutobi, what do you mean? What happened between Yamanaka Ryōya and Uchiha Kai?”

In their eyes, the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, had always been a pacifist.

His emotions never fluctuated so much. Now, something was amiss.

”He’s dead. Uchiha Kai killed him with one move,” the Third Hokage said, taking out a scroll and throwing it to Homura Mitokado. ”This is the intelligence Minato sent. You two take a look and come up with a countermeasure.”

”Yamanaka Ryōya was killed with one move?” Homura Mitokado’s expression changed.

He quickly opened the scroll and looked at it.

As time passed, his and Koharu Utatane’s expressions grew increasingly grim.

In their eyes, Yamanaka Ryōya was proficient in Mind Body Technique and had undergone inhuman training in Root.

He was skilled in binding and sensory ninjutsu.

If the two of them were to fight, with Yamanaka Ryōya’s powerful sensory abilities, he would definitely have sensed the other’s movements and changes first.

However, the scroll described how Yamanaka Ryōya hadn’t even reacted before being bound by genjutsu and then burned to ashes by an inextinguishable black flame.

Although they hadn’t witnessed the battle, the description in the scroll was enough to send chills down their spines.

”According to Minato’s description, Uchiha Kai has only shown a certain level of his strength. Moreover, he has an incredible ability to learn ninjutsu, which is probably related to his special Sharingan,” the Third Hokage said solemnly.

”Minato mentioned that Uchiha Kai has always hated trouble, so he’s been hiding his true strength. This time, he acted out of necessity, and he repelled the Cloud and Mist’s main forces.”

”He even killed the Seven Ninja Swordsmen’s Samehada and Kisame Hoshigaki and Kushimaru Kuriarare. This kind of achievement is only achievable by a handful of people in Konoha.”

The Third Hokage looked at Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado.

”Now tell me, what should we decide?”

Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane’s expressions changed.

In their eyes, Uchiha Kai was just a kid, similar to Uchiha Shisui.

Such a person was easy to deal with. Just threaten his family a little, and he would obediently submit.

However, now, Uchiha Kai had not only been lurking for over ten years, but he had also unleashed such powerful strength.

He even dared to kill Danzo’s subordinate.

This was a sign of arrogance and confidence.

”Hmph, you two are getting senile,” Danzo suddenly pushed open the office door.

”Hokage-sama...” The two guards stationed at the door looked complicated.

”Step aside. I knew he would come,” the Third Hokage waved his hand.

In Konoha, Danzo was a special existence. The Root he established was independent of the Anbu, which was under the Hokage’s control.

In a sense, Root’s existence was outside the Hokage’s power structure.

Therefore, Danzo often secretly sent Root members to monitor the entire Konoha village.

The Hokage’s office was no exception.

”Hmph, Sarutobi, you’re getting senile. You can’t even deal with a mere kid. I think you’re not fit to be Hokage and hold this responsibility,” Danzo said coldly.

”If I hadn’t prepared a backup plan, I don’t know what decision you would have made by now.”

”Danzo, don’t misunderstand. Sarutobi doesn’t mean that,” Homura Mitokado tried to intervene.

He knew his old classmate’s personality well.

”Hmph, it seems you agree with the Third’s idea, Hiruzen. You really disappoint me,” Danzo sneered.

”Konoha is in a precarious situation. All the countries are daring to interfere and bully us because of your weakness. If you had listened to me earlier and used iron-fisted methods to deal with them, Konoha wouldn’t have to fight on three fronts simultaneously.”

This!

Homura Mitokado’s expression froze. He shook his head and sighed. ”Danzo, don’t misunderstand. Everyone here is working for the prosperity of Konoha, including Sarutobi.”

”If you have any opinions, feel free to speak up. Let’s discuss them. If they are beneficial to Konoha, I can agree.” The Third Hokage said solemnly.

Koharu Utatane had not spoken, but her expression indicated agreement.

”Hmph, no need,” Danzo snorted. ”Since that Uchiha Kai is such a wildcard, he’s a menace to Konoha.”

”And don’t forget, if the Uchiha clan learns that there is such a rebellious member among them, it will only embolden them. So, I’ve already sent people to deal with him.”

His low voice sent a shockwave through the Third Hokage and the others.

They were just discussing how to appease Uchiha Kai and make him work for Konoha.

Now, Danzo had secretly sent people to deal with Kai.

This completely overturned Minato Namikaze’s plan.

”Danzo, are you crazy? You’re constantly targeting Uchiha Kai. You’re forcing him to defect,” the Third Hokage yelled angrily.

”If Uchiha Kai escapes the village, with his current strength and achievements, any village would be willing to extend an olive branch. He will become a weapon to harm Konoha. You will be the one responsible.”

Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado’s expressions changed.

This was the first time they saw the usually peaceful Sarutobi Hiruzen so angry.

Moreover, in Sarutobi Hiruzen’s eyes, he felt a debt to Danzo for obtaining the position of the Third Hokage.

That’s why he had always allowed Root, an organization outside the Hokage’s control, to exist.

However, now, the Third Hokage was furious at Danzo because of Uchiha Kai.

This was enough to show how much the Third Hokage valued Uchiha Kai.

”Danzo, I’m warning you. Bring him back immediately, or don’t blame me for being ruthless,” the Third Hokage said solemnly.
