Chapter 12: MSOC: Chapter 12

As they watched Kai leave, the scene erupted again.

”Uzuki, those eyes, they were simply impossible to look at,” Inuzuka Haka couldn’t help but lean in.

”Powerful Lightning Release jutsu, incredible Sharingan and genjutsu, it’s simply beyond our reach.”

”Even A, the next Raikage of Kumogakure, said that Kai has the qualifications to become Hokage. Do you think he has a better chance than Minato Namikaze?”

As soon as these words were spoken, they instantly attracted everyone’s attention.

Uzuki Ao’s expression shifted. Looking at the curious crowd, he sighed helplessly.

”The situation isn’t as simple as you think. Fū Yamanaka and Torune Aburame have escaped back to Konoha. Danzo, with his hatred for the Uchiha clan, will definitely protect them.”

”If Danzo knows we’re not dead, he might even try to kill us.”

The joy on Inuzuka Haka’s face instantly froze.

”Uzuki, aren’t you being too pessimistic? What do we do now? Should we warn Kai?” Inuzuka Haka asked anxiously.

Uzuki Ao shook his head, ”Inuzuka, do you think someone who’s hiding so deep would be unaware of this?”

”From my judgment, Kai probably already has a plan.”

Everyone present fell silent and looked at each other.

Recalling the battle just now, it was still vivid in their minds.

With such powerful strength, he had been lurking in Konoha for so long.

He must have been plotting something big!

”However, if we can repel the Cloud ninjas this time, Kai will be the one with the most merit. Once this news spreads, the Konoha leadership will definitely not be able to ignore it.”

”That Kai is quite something. Not only did he defeat the AB duo, but he also took advantage of the situation and extorted the Lightning Release Chakra Mode from Kumogakure.”

”If he submits this Lightning Release Chakra Mode to Konoha, it would be a great feat.”

The crowd started chattering again.

After all, the battle was too shocking.

”You guys think Kai, who’s proficient in Lightning Release jutsu, will try to learn the Lightning Release Chakra Mode?”

Inuzuka Haka suddenly blurted out.

Everyone’s nerves tightened, and Uzuki Ao’s face froze. ”It’s possible.”

”But, I still don’t believe he could grasp the essence of Thunderclap in three days and develop a Lightning Release Kirin that could be considered an S-rank jutsu.”

”Uzuki, you’re saying that because you’re embarrassed, aren’t you?” Inuzuka Haka teased, ”Why don’t we make a bet?”

”Alright, if Kai really can do it, I’ll let my precious daughter date him,” Uzuki Ao said, patting his chest.

”Cut it out, Uzuki. Is that even a bet? You’re just finding an excuse to send your daughter to Kai.”

”Count me in. I’ll bet too. If Kai really learns it, I’ll let my two daughters choose from him.”

”Old Man Wood, you’re crazy. Your two daughters, one is thirty years old, and the other is built like a bear. How can you put them on the table? If Kai really likes them, he’s blind.”

”Damn it, what are you talking about? I challenge you to a duel. If you lose, you’ll date my daughter.”

Inside the cave, Kai had no idea that he had gained dozens of future fathers-in-law.

He walked along, staring at the scroll that recorded the Lightning Release Chakra Mode.

”Kai, are you really not injured?” Shizune asked again, her face flushed.

Kai rolled his eyes helplessly, ”You’ve asked that question ten times already.”

”If you don’t believe me, why don’t I take off my clothes and show you?”

As he spoke, Kai pretended to unbutton his shirt.

”Kai, you’re being a pervert!” Shizune’s face flushed even redder. She glared at him and turned to leave.

Watching her leave, Kai finally had some free time.

His chakra and Sharingan chakra were both depleted. To put it another way, his body was completely drained.

He didn’t have the energy or the urge to do anything.

He found a nice corner, sat down cross-legged, and began to try and cultivate the Lightning Release Chakra Mode.

During the battle just now, Kai had already used his Mangekyō Sharingan to secretly observe the moment A entered the mode.

Now, comparing it to the scroll’s explanation, he found no discrepancies.

It seemed that A hadn’t expected to suffer such a defeat.

He hadn’t tampered with the secret technique scroll.

After reading it several times, Kai put the scroll away and entered a meditative state, slightly recovering his chakra.

Half a day later, Kai opened his eyes. The sky outside was starting to darken.

After the battle that day, the Konoha ninjas had clearly taken their positions.

Some of them had been reassigned to guard various scout posts.

Therefore, Kai was still alone in the vast cave.

”My chakra is almost fully recovered. I finally understand the pain of Kakashi, the Copy Ninja, running out of chakra,” Kai sighed helplessly.

Three big moves had drained two-thirds of his chakra. If he encountered a prolonged battle and ran out of chakra in the middle of it, that would be a nightmare!

”Forget it, I’ll worry about increasing my chakra later. For now, I’ll learn the Lightning Release Chakra Mode,” Kai dismissed his thoughts.

He slowly closed his eyes, and the explanation from the scroll appeared in his mind.

After a few seconds, Kai suddenly opened his eyes, his hands flying quickly, forming a series of hand seals.

His chakra roared, and strands of electricity appeared on his body.

In the next moment, Kai’s mind flashed with all the information he had copied from A with his Mangekyō Sharingan. His hand seals changed abruptly.

His chakra, which had been flowing smoothly like a stream, instantly changed its nature. It roared like a thousand horses, emitting a low rumble from within Kai’s body.

Countless violent blue arcs of electricity shot out from within Kai, illuminating half of the cave.

However, the arcs of lightning only appeared for a moment before dissipating into the air.

The change in the nature of his chakra instantly dissipated, returning to normal.

Kai’s face flashed with a sense of relief. He muttered to himself, ”Good thing I cut off the chakra change in time. Otherwise, the turbulent change in its nature at that moment would have likely caused me to explode.”

”No wonder that guy so easily gave me this secret technique scroll.”

”Ding, detected that the host has learned the Lightning Release Chakra Mode. Do you want to max level it?”

”Max level it now.”

After trying it himself, Kai gave up on self-study. It would be self-abuse not to use the system.

”Congratulations, host. Lightning Release Chakra Mode maxed out.”

As the system’s prompt faded, Kai took a deep breath and, with a thought, his chakra changed its nature again.

With a crackling sound, blue arcs of electricity erupted from Kai’s body.

In an instant, stimulated by the electricity, Kai felt his cells and body rapidly revitalized.
