Chapter 8: MSOC: Chapter 8

A jumble of thoughts raced through Uzuki Ao’s mind. He looked at Kai, who still had a calm expression, and his expression faltered. ”I have a feeling Kai is not as simple as he seems.”

”His attack missed, but why is he still so calm?”

As Uzuki Ao spoke, he looked up at the sky.

What he saw made his eyes nearly pop out of his head.

With the canyon as the center, it was as if an invisible hand was rapidly swirling the thunderclouds that had been accumulating in the sky.

Like a giant funnel.

Jagged bolts of lightning danced through the clouds, looking increasingly menacing.

The oppressive aura that was gradually spreading gave people a feeling of an impending storm.

He vaguely guessed that Kai must have already learned Thunderclap and had been hiding in the basin, waiting for this moment.

He couldn’t say it!

Uzuki Ao clenched his fist. He knew that once this attack struck, the power would be earth-shattering.

Otherwise, Kai wouldn’t have gone through so much trouble.

Feeling his heart pounding, Uzuki Ao’s nerves were almost snapping from the tension.

Why was Kai still standing there, seemingly unaffected?

What a terrifying state of mind.

”Kid, are you out of tricks?” A sneered, ”Is your chakra running out?”

”If you can’t do it anymore, then it’s our turn.”

Seeing Kai still unmoved, A’s face darkened, and he barked, ”Go! Surround him. I don’t believe he can pull off any more tricks.”

”Kill him!”

Dozens of Cloud ninjas instantly charged.

The Lightning Release and Great Fireball jutsu had made them lose face.

Now that Kai’s chakra was running low, this was a perfect opportunity to beat a dog when it’s down.

Three hundred meters, two hundred meters!

Ten, thirty, fifty, seventy!

Kai silently calculated everything, feeling the change in the nature of his chakra as it resonated with the thunderclouds in the sky.

The accumulated power of the lightning made even Kai’s heart tremble.

”You’re just putting on a show, kid. Die!” A Cloud ninja was the first to reach him.

But it should be said that dozens of Cloud ninjas had come from all directions, their eyes all fixed on Kai like a piece of meat in a bowl.

”Lightning Release: Lightning Spear!”

”Lightning Release: Earth Walk!”

”Lightning Release: Thrust!”

Their roars echoed wildly through the heavens.

Streams of dazzling lightning transformed into various attacks, striking towards Kai.

Seeing Kai seemingly oblivious, Shizune couldn’t hold back and stepped forward.

”It’s coming! Everyone, use all your strength to support the barrier. Otherwise, we’ll all die!” Uzuki Ao roared.

Everyone was stunned.

In the next moment, Kai, who was in the midst of the attack, was engulfed in a flash of lightning and vanished into thin air like a phantom.

”Lightning Release: Body Flicker!”

A sharp-eyed ninja instantly recognized it.

A’s expression tightened, and he quickly looked up at the nearby hilltop.

What he saw shocked him.

”Heavens, something’s wrong with the sky. Run!” A roared urgently.

He felt a sense of dread in the clouds, a feeling that even he couldn’t ignore.

At this moment, he finally understood why Kai had been standing there motionless, without any reaction.

It was a trap!

”You can’t escape. My chakra is indeed running low. To instantly wipe you all out, I need a large-scale, high-destructive, and unavoidable attack. So, I thought of borrowing the power of the heavens,” Kai stood on the hilltop.

The lightning that had been hidden in his body was now completely exposed.

The swirling thunderclouds, the flashing lightning, transformed into a massive thunderous Kirin!

”Goodbye, you adorable fools.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Kai moved.

He slammed his right hand down, and the thunderous Kirin, formed from the accumulated lightning in the sky, let out a roar that shook the heavens.

Thunder tore through the sky, and lightning filled his eyes.

Boom!

The Kirin charged down, its speed so fast that the Cloud ninjas couldn’t even react.

Bang!

The lightning exploded, its power comparable to a Tailed Beast Bomb.

The entire canyon was instantly engulfed in lightning. Trees and rocks were shattered.

The lightning that shot up into the sky even pierced through the accumulated clouds.

When everything settled, several minutes had passed.

The vast canyon was in ruins.

No!

It should be said that there was no longer any trace of the canyon. It was a flat, scorched earth plain.

The trees and rocks were gone, and some of the hills had been flattened.

As for the Cloud ninjas, there wasn’t even a single bone left.

Those who were lucky enough to use defense techniques in time might have managed to save an arm or a leg.

The vast battlefield was a scene of utter devastation.

”Am I dreaming?”

”If it weren’t for this cave, we would be dead.”

”Are you blind? Where’s the cave? If Uzuki-san hadn’t noticed something was wrong and told us to reinforce the barrier, we would have been killed for sure.”

”Even the barrier that could have resisted the Cloud ninjas’ attacks for two days was broken. That Lightning Release just now was the most terrifying and powerful forbidden jutsu I’ve ever seen.”

The Konoha ninjas all looked like they had cheated death.

They knew that this attack was meant for the Cloud ninjas.

But after witnessing that earth-shattering scene, they were still terrified.

Especially seeing those Cloud ninjas who had been blown to smithereens, their backs were drenched in cold sweat.

”Damn you, you little bastard! You dared to set a trap and kill my men,” A and Killer Bee charged out of the ruins.

They were a bit disheveled, but they hadn’t suffered much damage.

Some of the Cloud ninjas who had been close to them hadn’t participated in the encirclement, so they were also saved in time.

However, even counting A and Killer Bee, there were only seven of them left.

Compared to their grand arrival, this was a huge contrast.

If they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes, no one would believe that a Chunin could instantly kill over a hundred elite Cloud ninjas, even with the AB duo leading them.

”Note: AB duo , renowned as the Strongest tag team , is a sibling team from Kumogakure. It consists of A — the son of the Third Raikage — and Killer B who is recognised as A’s brother.”

”Uzuki-san, should we help?” Shizune was anxious.

”Those who kill shall be killed. They deserved to die,” Kai said with a smile.

Looking at his gentle smile, the Cloud ninjas and even the Konoha ninjas felt a chill run down their spines.

”Good, very good,” A said coldly, ”I’ll fall for your trap once, but I won’t fall for it again.”

”You’ve used three such powerful jutsu. Your chakra is amazing, but you won’t be able to hold out for long. I’m going to see what else you’ve got to defeat me.”

”Once I get my hands on you, I’ll crush your bones and make you understand the power and authority of the Cloud ninjas!”
