Chapter 13: MSOC: Chapter 13

”This feeling is strange.”

A glimmer of joy flashed across Kai’s face.

Normally, even if someone was used to their own weight, they would sometimes feel a sense of carrying a burden.

However, now, with the Lightning Release Chakra Mode activated, Kai’s entire body felt as light as a feather.

However, his chakra consumption was also not slow.

With Kai’s current chakra reserves, he could only sustain it for about twenty minutes.

If he used any jutsu, the duration of the Lightning Release Chakra Mode would likely be further shortened.

This was probably why A had developed taijutsu to reduce his chakra consumption.

”Let’s test the speed!” Kai took a step forward.

With a ”psh” sound, he vanished from the spot, leaving only a few arcs of electricity. He shot out of the cave like a blue lightning bolt.

The Konoha ninjas stationed outside the cave were stunned at first, then they couldn’t help but rub their eyes.

”What’s wrong with you guys?” Inuzuka Haka and Uzuki Ao walked over.

”I, we just saw a blue light flash by.”

”But we couldn’t see it clearly before it disappeared.”

Blue light?

Inuzuka Haka and Uzuki Ao were stunned at first, then they quickly asked, ”Did it feel like when A activated the Lightning Release Chakra Mode?”

”Uzuki-san, now that you mention it, I think it was a bit similar.”

”Uzuki-san, do you mean the Cloud ninjas are coming back for revenge?”

The two younger Chunin had a look of anxiety on their faces.

The battle had just ended, and they had Kai as their backbone.

But the Cloud ninjas had suffered a major defeat last time. They probably wouldn’t fall for the same trick again.

”No, I’d rather it be the Cloud ninjas coming back for trouble than believe my own suspicions,” Uzuki Ao and Inuzuka Haka exchanged a look.

They both clearly thought of the same thing.

”Go check the cave and see if Kai is still inside.”

As soon as these words were spoken, the two younger Konoha ninjas finally understood.

If that blue light was exactly the same as the Lightning Release Chakra Mode, then the person using this technique wasn’t A, the next Raikage, but probably Uchiha Kai.

It had only been half a day since the battle ended and Kai had obtained the scroll that recorded the Lightning Release Chakra Mode.

If Kai had actually learned this secret technique, what could they call him?

Genius?

Prodigy?

Monster?

Or God of Ninjutsu?

Kai, several thousand meters away, had no idea that his actions would cause them such shock.

With the Lightning Release Chakra Mode activated, his speed had reached subsonic levels.

He could cross hundreds of meters in the blink of an eye.

Moreover, with his cells revitalized, Kai’s nerve reaction, attack power, five senses, all improved significantly.

He could even hear the chirping of insects hundreds of meters away.

”Stop! We’re Konoha ninjas.”

A voice called out urgently.

Kai instantly locked onto the source of the sound.

Although he didn’t have any abnormal Sensory jutsu, Kai could still tell the approximate number of people from their voices.

”Seven people attacking two? Interesting,” Kai smiled slightly, his lips curling.

He flickered, deciding to see what was happening to the Konoha ninjas.

In the forest, on a clearing.

Two slender figures stood back to back, facing the surrounding ninjas, who wore various menacing animal masks.

”We’re Konoha ninjas. This is our identification,” a pale-faced boy, only twelve or thirteen years old, said nervously.

Behind him was a girl with purple hair and a delicate, beautiful face.

From their identification, it was clear that they were newly promoted Chunin.

Of course, in the peaceful era of the original story, this Chunin status required passing the Chunin Exam and being evaluated by the Daimyo of the various countries before being promoted.

Unfortunately, in the Third Shinobi World War, most Chunin were promoted forcefully.

First, opening three battlefields simultaneously had already exhausted Konoha’s core strength.

Second, the war of attrition was all about attrition. With Konoha’s limited forces, they couldn’t hold out for long.

Third, forcefully promoting them to Chunin was meant to deceive the enemy. In reality, they were just a facade.

According to Kai’s memory, this kind of ninja assessment method only required the team to complete a B-rank mission and return alive to apply for Chunin.

Kai clearly remembered that in the Third Shinobi World War, even Obito, a deadlast, who hadn’t even awakened his Sharingan, was promoted to Chunin and went on a special mission with Kakashi as his captain.

This was enough to prove how much water there was in the Chunin rank.

”Yūgao, stay behind me. Be careful. We’re not far from the stronghold. These Anbu are just mistaken about our identity. It’s the enemy pretending to be us. As long as I explain, they’ll let us go,” Gekko Hayate explained nervously.

Uzuki Yūgao had a look of anxiety on her face.

This was the first time she had officially stepped onto the battlefield since graduating from the Ninja Academy.

She had only taken small missions, like finding cats and dogs, guarding Konoha, and other simple tasks.

She had also participated in some harmless battles to gain experience.

Three days ago, she was suddenly promoted to Chunin.

Uzuki Yūgao knew that this was because the front lines were in dire straits.

It had led to the emergency deployment of forces from the Konoha rear to provide support.

Originally, Uzuki Yūgao had been planning how to avoid going to the battlefield.

Unfortunately, when she heard that the Cloud ninjas had launched a sneak attack and her father, Uzuki Ao, was participating in the battle, she volunteered to go.

She wanted to urgently deliver Minato Namikaze, the Yellow Flash’s, Flying Thunder God kunai to the battlefield, so she volunteered.

As for Gekko Hayate, he couldn’t help but accept the mission because of a strange feeling in his heart.

After three days of continuous travel, they were not far from the stronghold.

They thought they would reach it smoothly. They never expected to be stopped by Konoha’s Anbu at this critical moment.

”Senior, I’m Gekko Hayate, a newly promoted Chunin of Konoha. My father is Gekko Yoru, one of the Eight Colors of Konoha. This is my family heirloom.” Gekko Hayate quickly brought up his backer.

Unlike Uzuki Ao, Gekko Hayate’s father, Gekko Yoru , was one of the Eight Colors of Konoha.

His Konoha-style Crescent Moon blade technique, combined with his kekkei genkai, the Shikotsumyaku, made him a feared assassin on the battlefield.

He was also one of the most outstanding Jonin in all of Konoha.

According to Gekko Hayate’s plan, all he had to do was clarify his identity, bring up his father, and these Anbu ninjas would be amazed and let them pass.

They might even escort them to the stronghold.
