Chapter 196: Learned both spells

He stood up again. This time he was more cautious. So he put some soft cushions on the wall first, which he had brought from the inn.

Then he activated the spell again. Boom!

Again he clashed with the wall. This time the impact was absorbed by the cushions, so he hurt a little less.

But he was as sturdy as a turtle and started practicing it again and again.

After two hours of self-thrashing, he finally got some grip on his new speed. It was still very difficult for him to control, but he could feel the impact on the wall was becoming less and less.

On the other hand, there were some other guests in the inn too.

They were like, ”What the hell is that prince doing?”

Ethan practiced the spell for five hours non-stop. He was a knight, so his body was super tough, even so, it was aching all over.

But he had a smile on his face. Now he could control the speed a bit and did not crash into the wall.

It was already lunchtime, so he ordered some food and took a warm bath.

The warm water after the intense training felt so good. He almost fell asleep.

After half an hour of bathing, the food also arrived.

He ate the food and then went to sleep.

Meanwhile, in the forest of Amazon,

A middle-aged man with handsome features was sitting on the shoulder of the Ape who fought with Lucas and Rowan before.

He looked at the burns Ethan caused.

”Interesting. Someone used a supreme tier spell on you, but the caster is pitifully weak. Who is so capable that he could use a supreme spell even with his weak power?”

The test was not successful today. But we have a lot of time to play. Hahaha.”

The ape walked even deeper into the forest with that man.

After three hours of sleep, Ethan woke up.

He felt very refreshed now.

”Tomorrow is the one-on-one battle. I will be able to learn a lot of new spells. I am so excited. Let’s practice that spell of the ape first.”

The spell Ethan was talking about was the one when the ape manifested an ape with lightning element, and it was just like the ape itself.

Lucas also used a similar spell with that fire dragon, but there was a fundamental difference Ethan found out.

The spell of the ape was like manifesting your own version. It was not like the ape could make anything but chose to manifest himself.

No, the spell worked in that manner. It would create a version of you with elemental energy.

Though it was not versatile like creating anything, it probably had its own merits, he would just need to find out.

But the spell Lucas used was like using a borrowed power. Ethan needed to try both of them to find out though.

He went to the training room again, then sat cross-legged.

He first wanted to try the spell of the ape.

The mana started to flow in a unique direction according to the diagram Ethan grasped.

Soon mana started coming out of his body, and someone similar to his own self started manifesting behind him.

A lightning Ethan finally appeared behind him.

What Ethan did not know was that he was doing something impossible again. No human should have been able to use the spell of the beasts, and no beast could use the spell of the humans.

But here he was comprehending spell after spell like everything was his grandfather’s inheritance.

Then Ethan opened his eyes, but as soon as he did, the avatar disappeared.

”So it takes super high concentration, huh.”

Ethan again closed his eyes and concentrated.

The avatar manifested again.

But again disappeared.

”Comprehending the spell of other races seems really difficult,” he muttered.

If the ape saw it, it would have cursed his entire generation.

Again Ethan started doing his rigorous training.

Four hours later, he was able to keep the avatar for thirty seconds. It was a good improvement.

”Looks like this avatar spell is higher tier than that speed one.”

It was already night. Ethan heard his stomach growling.

This time he brought out some food from his storage ring.

Then he again took a shower and went to sleep.

In the next morning, Ethan woke up early. This time he wore a battle suit, not his royal outfits.

Relf and his other guards were waiting outside.

”Your highness, the competition will start in two hours. You should eat a light breakfast.”

Ethan nodded. Then he ate something light yet healthy.

After breakfast Ethan directly went toward the academy. He wanted to reach early.

Relf and Julious followed him.

Soon he reached the academy. From there, only the students were allowed.

The top five hundred were decided by the points they got before going to sleep.

So there were many students who were unwilling to accept the result, as they thought they would earn points later but never got the chance.

But who would dare to raise their voice against the academy?

The academy gave a simple yet clear reasoning, ”How did they get points? You should never keep your work for later.”

It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Because only six-year-olds could take the exam, so there was no next-year option.

Ethan said goodbye to Relf and Julious and was about to enter through the gate.

When he saw Sunny coming with his grandmother. The moment he saw Ethan, he started running toward him.

”Bro, are you ready to fight? Do you think you can win the rookie king title?”

Ethan shook his head and said, ”I will just enjoy the battle. The title does not matter much.”

Sunny gave him a thumbs up.

”Bro, you are so cool. I will surely win the second position.”

When he said that, Martha arrived behind him. ”Oh? Why the second position and why not the first position?”
