Chapter 189: Already got admitted

Ethan said, ”Then I am already a student in the academy now?”

Lucas smiled.

”Of course. I said that, did not I?”

Ethan looked a little dejected.

”What happened, boy?” Edian asked.

”I was looking forward to the competition, but if I am already in, I cannot participate in the next phase. Right?”

Edian’s face started twitching violently. Anyone would die just to get a look inside that academy, but this brat was feeling rejected? What was wrong with that brain of his?

Lucas laughed out loudly.

”If you want to participate, just do it. Enjoy the rest of the competition to your heart’s content. There are many super prodigies here, so I can understand your feelings.”

Instantly Ethan’s face lit up and his dejected mood vanished.

”Really? Thank you so much, Instructor. By the way, what will be the next phase?”

Lucas said, ”I am not to tell others about it, but as you are already admitted, I can tell you.

The next phase will be monster hunting. You see, there will still be many geniuses, at least more than 500. So we will have to eliminate the rest through the monster hunting phase.

You will be put into the Forest of Amazon. There we have cleared all the beasts above true tier.

Most of them are apprentice tier. There are also adept tier, and some true beast tier.

So you will get points for hunting monsters. 1 point for apprentice tier, 10 points for adept tier, and 100 for true tier.

We will choose the top 500 with this point system.

And after that will be the one-on-one battle phase, that will decide your rank in the first year.”

Ethan nodded in understanding, then he asked,

”Instructor, if I did not participate in the rest of the competition, which rank would I get?”

Lucas smiled. ”1st rank. What I saw just now, with this spell, you can even kill grand tier beasts, but it would cost a toll on your body. Still, it is enough to put you in the 1st rank. You should know there is a title for the first rank student, ’Rookie King,’ and it has its own perks.”

Ethan nodded. He was not interested in the Rookie King or whatever title it was, but he was interested in those geniuses who had their own insights into magic.

Ethan wanted to fight them all to learn their magic spells and the way they used them in battle. He was like a sponge.

”Okay, Instructor. I am looking forward to it.”

Edian then took Ethan to where Relf was standing, and vanished.

Relf heaved a sigh of relief when he finally saw Ethan.

”Are you all right, your highness?”

He asked in a concerned tone.

”Yes, I am okay. Relf, let’s tour the capital while we still have time.”

Relf agreed instantly. Then they started walking here and there, with no particular destination.

But when Ethan walked out of a shop, he clashed with a team of burly young men in very sophisticated uniforms.

”Watch where you are going, brat,” one of them shouted loudly.

Ethan apologised, ”I am sorry. I did not see you.”

He did not want any problem right now.

But the boy was a punk. He tried to grip Ethan’s collar, but Relf intervened.

”We are sorry.”

Relf saw the uniform. They were students of the Supreme Knight Academy. So he did not want the prince to be clashed with them. He was confident the prince would be able to defeat them, but everyone in the Supreme Academy had great backgrounds, so it would be a great hassle without any benefits.

The boy named Karl became annoyed, because he could tell the man was a grand knight himself. They were only high knights.

”You are lucky, punk. Or else...”

They went inside.

Ethan muttered, ”You are also lucky boys. I will surely visit you guys someday.”

Then he left. The next phase would start in 2 hours, and it would last 24 hours.

Ethan looked at Relf. ”Let’s go back. It is so lame. I will visit them soon.”

Relf did not reply to that. He felt pathetic. If he were more powerful, then those boys would not dare to say such harsh words to the prince.

Then they returned to the inn.

Ethan started comprehending the 2nd diagram of the ”Last Ordeal” spell. The first one was super devastating, so the next should be even more, right?

Meanwhile, Instructor Lucas went to the academy and instantly made a report to the P.A. of the dean.

The dean was not present in the academy now.

Lucas then came back to the monitoring room and looked at his subordinates.

”We finally found the fated one. That boy is a monster among monsters. I cannot believe he could cast a supreme tier spell like nothing, and it felt like it did not even take much toll on his body.

How could that be possible?”

The subordinates also saw the video, so they totally agreed with Lucas.

”Sir, do you think the dean would take him as a personal disciple? He never took one before.”

Lucas said, ”I do not know. But if I were the dean, I would do anything and everything in my hands to get that boy to acknowledge me as his master.”

Soon two hours passed. Ethan had already comprehended the 2nd diagram too.

He then stood up and started going to the periphery of the academy. Only the people who had passed the test could enter the 15 km radius around the academy today.

This time Relf could not follow him inside, as no one other than the candidates could enter.

Ethan saw many students were coming from different directions, as there were not many roads. So most of them followed the same paths.

He wanted to know how many had passed though.

It would give him a rough idea about the geniuses in the human continent, because almost every talented magus came to attend this admission test.

While he was walking, he saw a fat guy walking toward him.
