Chapter 173: Ray of Hope

Ethan was reading books in library. The library was very rich with different books as his mother was also a bookworm.

So he directly went to the section where books about magic and its history were present.

He wanted to know if there were any situations like him who had multiple aptitudes at once.

Soon he took out the book called,

”Origin of Magic”

This book was about where the magic came from, the predecessors who used their blood and sweat to bring the spells and skills to life.

There he learned about such an individual who had dual aptitude, elemental magus and knight.

He was none other than Victor Frankenstein, the father of all magic.

He was called by many titles.

The absolute one, the ruler of origin magic, etc. etc.

Ethan was eager to know how this progenitor conducted his spells as he was facing problems with that.

He read the biography of Victor Frankenstein the whole night.

He was a human, but he was so monstrous at magic that even the dragons, spirits, and demons, who could be called the children of magic, had to bow down to him.

He wrote his legend with his own hands.

And in the end, he stood at the very top of the power rank of the magus world.

The book writer did not even know what realm he had reached.

Ethan got some ideas about how to manipulate his mana which was being absorbed by his core into magic spells.

Victor left some tips for the younger generation when he was still climbing the power rank.

Soon Ethan grasped some ideas on what to do next.

He was eager to try in the morning.

Besides, he wanted to know more about the beast master aptitude.

It was still 3 hours left until sunrise.

Ethan took the beast master book.

”Beast masters” were the absolute rulers of this world.

Reason?

They got one new beast of their same rank or a rank higher if they were capable.

So an arch beast master could have the power of 6 beasts within his body. There was no way a single person could win against someone like that.

He could use his beasts individually in battle too.

He could merge with the beast at the arch beast master level and gain all their power if it was a single one-on-one battle.

Ethan was fascinated while reading about the beast masters.

Ethan wanted to know where he could get a powerful beast to make a contract with.

Ethan had two seeds inside his body. Normally a beast master got one seed per level.

Ethan had too many suspicious powers, he would be gone if anyone were to know about that.

Meanwhile, inside the palace of the 1st Empress.

Adrian and his mother were still talking.

They were planning something heinous.

”Mother, please do not worry. I will take care of everything. Let the little one live for some more years. At six, he would need to go to an academy, so yes. After leaving the perimeter of the castle, he will be just a lamb to be slaughtered.”

The first empress, Mery Luis, was listening to her son and drinking alcohol.

”You better take care of him. 3 years later, the competition for the crown will be started. Now you can leave.”

She fell asleep.

Adrian let her sleep properly, then pulled a blanket on her and left the room.

”Oh, dear mother. You have no idea what your son is capable of. Even that old man does not have much time left, let alone a brat, hehehe,” he was smiling nastily.

Ethan had already read about the beast masters.

Then he took out the book about the knights.

The knights were simple. They would absorb mana through their core by using a breathing technique.

The mana would go into their cells and would make them physically powerful.

Then the more powerful they became, they could start to manipulate mana around their body to get amplification effects and do many other miraculous things.

Ethan started pondering, he needed a knight breathing technique.

Where could he get one? He could not ask for help, his inner feelings gave him warnings before.

”Okay, I will think about it later. First I need to become proficient in elemental magus. Then I am sure I will be able to get a breathing technique on my own,” he thought to himself.

Soon the morning sun rose into the sky.

He was not sleepy at all, he was way too excited to get a wink of sleep.

Then he went directly to the training room and got changed.

The moment he finished, his father also entered.

Cadis was surprised,

”You did not sleep?”

”No father, I read books in the library,” Ethan replied.

Cadis did not say anything else. He and Trina both liked to read, so it was only natural his son would become like this.

He smiled,

”Are you ready? We will start slowly. You lost your control over your mana last night. Today we will approach a different method.”

After saying that, he waved his hand and 10 dummy humans were created in a row.

Cadis then looked at Ethan,

”Go ahead, fire mana balls at those dummies. You do not need to hold and control it like before.”

Ethan was surprised.

His father was indeed the most powerful arch magus in the empire.

Ethan had read books the whole night, then he thought about his situation of having a core in the equation, only then did he come to this approach, but it was not as neat as his father’s.

He thought he would throw mana balls randomly, to know how much mana was needed to use per ball and the other changes.

But his father did not even know he had a core, and already came up with a similar plan. It was even better. Having a target in the front, it would make things easier.

Ethan’s respect for his father grew up.

He came to his position. Then closed his eyes and remembered the diagram he memorized the last night and soon a purple ball manifested into his hand.

He opened his eyes and threw the mana ball toward a dummy.

But it did not have enough power and dissipated before it even hit its target.

Ethan did not wait and created another ball, it was bigger in size than before, and threw it, this time it barely hit the target.

Ethan then started trying with different sizes of mana balls to see the effect.

He started gaining too much excitement and forgot that his father was also present in the room now.

Soon, two hours passed and Ethan could now make a perfectly sized mana ball which could destroy the dummy in the distance perfectly.

Cadis Entrama Di Raizel was numb at the side.

”What the heck am I even doing here? Oh yes, repairing the dummies for this brat.”

But these were all happy complaints. He was trying his best to suppress the loud laughter trying to come out.

The Lukedonia Empire was not a powerful empire in the grand magus world where humans only lived on a small continent, where there were thousands of empires.

The Empire of Lukedonia was just a low-tier empire, their ancestor was the reason why their empire was not invaded yet. But the ancestor was injured gravely 3000 years ago, he was still recovering and no one knew about that. Only the emperor knew this secret.

Now he saw a ray of hope to rise within his son.
