Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 683: Chapter 683: Saint Heir, Something Terrible Has Happened!

Perhaps it was because the food he had been eating was too nourishing. He kept feeling like something inside him was trying to break free.

Ye Qingchen sat in the courtyard. Although a gentle breeze was blowing, he felt a growing heat within him.

”Hey! Kid! Stop suppressing me! Let me out!”

A sudden voice rang out, startling Ye Qingchen. ”Who’s talking?”

Though surprised, he stopped the suppression. In the next instant, a figure appeared before him.

”Hey, kid, you don’t recognize me anymore?” the figure asked, waving at Ye Qingchen.

Sensing the man’s aura, Ye Qingchen immediately understood what was happening.

”Huomei, after hiding in my body for so long, you’ve finally decided to come out.”

Ye Qingchen had thought something was wrong with his body and was about to go see Elder Chen about it.

After a couple of chuckles, Huomei sat down next to Ye Qingchen.

”Ah, I sensed the Energy of the Wuji Immortal Palace. After absorbing some of its unique Energy from within your body, I was able to come out.”

”But how did you end up clashing with the Saint Heir of the Wuji Immortal Palace?”

Ye Qingchen sighed. ”Huomei, you’re the great-uncle master of the Wuji Immortal Palace, and you’re asking me about this?”

Huomei replied matter-of-factly, ”So what if I’m the great-uncle master? You know perfectly well I’ve been inside your body this whole time!”

Ye Qingchen waved his hand dismissively. ”Alright then, when are you planning to leave my body for good?”

In truth, Huomei hiding inside him didn’t cause any real problems, but Ye Qingchen still felt uncomfortable. After all, it was another person residing in his body.

”Ah, ah, I can’t leave just yet!” Huomei said, laughing and shaking his head. ”But now that we’re in the Wuji Immortal Palace, you can tell me if there’s anything you want. I can totally help you!”

Ye Qingchen narrowed his eyes. ”What do I want? There’s nothing I need from your Wuji Immortal Palace!”

As he said this, Ye Qingchen suddenly thought of something.

”Right, I need your Saint Heir to stay away from me until I leave!”

Huomei scratched his head, looking troubled. ”This... this request is a bit difficult for me.”

Because he was hiding in Ye Qingchen’s body, he couldn’t stray too far from him, even if he could emerge while in the Wuji Immortal Palace. Besides, if he really showed himself, the people from the Wuji Immortal Palace would certainly cause a fuss. He’d rather stay inside Ye Qingchen’s body where it was peaceful.

”Hey! If you can’t do it, then don’t bother coming out ever again!” Ye Qingchen’s tone was threatening.

Huomei hurriedly waved his hands. ”Hey, hey! I was just kidding! Why so serious? Don’t worry. As soon as I get a chance, I’ll make sure he doesn’t disturb you!”

”That’s more like it,” Ye Qingchen replied.

「...」

Meanwhile, Wu Chang was just about to go to sleep when an intense knocking suddenly erupted from his door.

”Seriously, who is it? Knocking on my door in the middle of the night instead of sleeping!” Wu Chang sat up in bed, thoroughly irritated.

Outside, the Third Elder said excitedly, ”Saint Heir! Saint Heir! Open the door quickly! There’s news!”

Hearing this, Wu Chang shot up from his bed, yanked the door open, and pulled the Third Elder inside.

”Is it news about the great-uncle master?!” Wu Chang exclaimed excitedly.

The Third Elder nodded. ”Yes! It’s news about him! I even brought his Soul Lamp. Look how bright it is now!”

The Third Elder then produced a glowing stone that illuminated the entire room.

”See? This level of brightness means the great-uncle master is right here in our Wuji Immortal Palace!” the Third Elder exclaimed, excitedly cradling Huomei’s Soul Lamp.

Wu Chang was equally thrilled. ”Good, good, good! Hahaha! The heavens truly have eyes; even they are on my side! Third Elder, time is of the essence! Let’s go find him now!”

Just as Wu Chang was about to drag the Third Elder out, he suddenly thought of something else.

”Wait a minute, Third Elder. We only know that the great-uncle master is in the Wuji Immortal Palace, but the palace is so vast. Where do we even start looking for him?”

The Wuji Immortal Palace covered an extraordinarily large area. If they were to search bit by bit, it could take them several months.

The Third Elder’s face immediately filled with pride. ”Heh, Saint Heir, you may not be familiar with this Soul Lamp. It flickers when it gets close to the person it’s attuned to. We just need to pick a direction and start walking. Once the Soul Lamp begins to flicker, we can narrow down our search.”

Wu Chang nodded and headed outside with the Third Elder.

After a long time, they finally found the right direction.

”Quick, quick, Saint Heir! It’s pointing toward Elder Chen’s area. Let’s go search there!”

The two of them made their way to the front of Ye Qingchen’s courtyard. Staring at the courtyard, Wu Chang’s eyes widened in disbelief.

”No way, Third Elder. You’re not trying to deceive me, are you? This is where that kid Ye Qingchen lives! How could the great-uncle master possibly come to a place like this!”

The Third Elder awkwardly scratched his head. ”This... I don’t know either, but the Soul Lamp is indeed pointing here.”

The Soul Lamp in his hand now flickered with a dazzling light. There was no doubt this was the place.

Wu Chang looked at the courtyard gate, then glanced at the Soul Lamp in the Third Elder’s hands. Having made up his mind, he kicked the gate open.

”Brat! Hand over the great-uncle master!” Wu Chang burst in and roared.

Ye Qingchen, who had his back to them, slowly turned around.

”Saint Heir, it’s rather late. Isn’t it a bit rude to show up calling me your great-uncle master? I may be formidable, but I have no desire to be yours.” Ye Qingchen quirked an eyebrow, looking at the two intruders.

Wu Chang snorted. ”Ye Qingchen, stop playing word games! I already know the great-uncle master is with you. You must have threatened him. Hand him over! Otherwise, you’ll be making an enemy of the entire Wuji Immortal Palace!”

The Third Elder, standing behind him, also shouted, ”That’s right! Ye Qingchen, you may have beaten our Saint Heir during the day, and we accepted our loss! But this is different! The great-uncle master belongs to our Wuji Immortal Palace! We will not allow you to threaten him!”

The corners of Ye Qingchen’s mouth turned up in a slight smile.

”Your great-uncle master? How laughable. Why would you think he’s with me?”

Wu Chang took two steps forward and yelled, ”Ye Qingchen, I told you to stop with the word games! Don’t you realize you’re harming the Wuji Immortal Palace?! Aren’t you still receiving treatment for your illness? If you don’t hand over the great-uncle master, Elder Chen will never treat you again!”

Wu Chang looked extremely smug, as if he held some crucial leverage over Ye Qingchen.

Watching Wu Chang’s gloating expression, Ye Qingchen couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

”Are you such sore losers that after losing during the day, you’ve come to bother me at night with such an excuse? I never imagined the Wuji Immortal Palace could stoop so low.”

”Who the hell are you calling a sore loser! I’ll have you know, we have the great-uncle master’s Soul Lamp!” Wu Chang reacted like a cat whose tail had just been stepped on.

The Third Elder immediately took out the Soul Lamp.

”Shit! Saint Heir, this is bad!”
