His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1576: Chapter 441: Wicked Sense of Humor (Part 3)

The two old men started bickering with each other after exchanging just a couple of words.

When Qin Mu and Mu Yichen came down again, they noticed that Grandpa Jing from the Jing Family was already gone. Qin Mu asked, ”Has Grandpa Jing left?”

”Hmph! That old guy is full of issues. He even said that drinking at our place would cause indigestion! The sooner he leaves, the better!”

The old man responded unhappily, but his face was full of regret.

Qin Mu turned to look at Mu Yichen, exchanging a glance with him. Mu Yichen tried hard to stifle his laughter. He knew his grandpa well enough to know that he wanted Grandpa Jing to stay for dinner. But Grandpa Jing had declined because of the couple.

Oh well, they had gotten used to it over the years!

”Grandpa, don’t be upset. Let’s invite Grandpa Jing over for dinner another day. Didn’t Yichen say there are two good bottles of wine at the office? He’ll bring them back for you tomorrow!”

Qin Mu sat beside the old man, then slyly looked at her husband sitting on a single sofa, and spoke to Mu Yichen in all seriousness.

”There’s still two bottles of good wine? You little rascal, you know how to keep them for yourself?”

As soon as the old man heard about the wine, his eyes lit up.

”I’ll bring it back for you tomorrow! When have I ever kept anything for myself?”

Mu Yichen thought to himself that he didn’t even like drinking white wine, yet Mrs. Mu dug a pit for him.

”If you don’t bring it back for me tomorrow, I’ll go to your office myself the day after tomorrow! Hmph!”

The old man thought, if you give it away to someone else, I won’t forgive you.

Not long after, Mu Zihao called to say that the two little ones were going to eat out, so it would just be the old man and the two of them having dinner at home that night.

After Mu Yichen explained everything to the old man, his mood improved significantly: ”Since your mom isn’t here today, have a couple of drinks with me!”

The old man put on a look as if he was about to do something grand, yet he was very meticulous.

Qin Mu looked at his expression, then glanced at Mu Yichen, unable to hold back her laughter. Grandpa really was super cute.

”One glass!”

Mu Yichen hesitated a bit.

”Two glasses! How long has it been since we last drank?”

The old man furrowed his brow, thinking, come on, at least two glasses.

”Two glasses? Your health...”

”What’s wrong with my health? Since they’re not home, I call the shots here. However many glasses I say, that’s how many glasses we’ll have!”

Then, at dinner, they used the smallest wine glasses at home. The old man looked at his grandson pouring wine, his brow never quite relaxing.

”Mumu, look at your husband, hmm? Doesn’t he look proper?”

”Indeed, very improper!”

Qin Mu, feeling relaxed, stood on grandpa’s side to counter Mu Yichen.

After Mu Yichen finished pouring the wine and put down the bottle, he looked up at Qin Mu, sitting across from him, and smiled slightly. His sharp eyes were full of warmth, making Qin Mu’s throat tighten unconsciously.

”I’ll just have two glasses with you. If Mrs. Feng comes back, she’ll definitely check the kitchen first. If she finds half the wine gone, she’ll still come looking for you and me. You better think of an excuse by then!”

”What excuse? I’m the boss in this house! Do I have to explain to her?”

The old man showed an expression of disbelief.

Mu Yichen couldn’t help but chuckle lightly. Against this old man with a child’s heart, he was helpless. So he raised his glass to toast him.

Qin Mu watched from the side. The clinking of wine glasses was crisp. The way the grandfather and grandson drank together had its own charm.

This feeling was really warm, very warm!

It was like being in a dream!

The old man finished his glass in one gulp. After seeing this, Mu Yichen couldn’t help but frown. When pouring another drink for him, he moved extra slowly and reminded him: ”Drink slowly! This is the last glass!”

”Once we’re done, pour some water in, your mom won’t notice, and it’ll be over!”

Suddenly, a coughing sound came from the kitchen. The old man became alert without even realizing it, immediately turning his head: ”If anyone dares to leak information, I’ll break their legs!”

Mu Yichen slightly lifted his eyes to look at the kitchen door, which was slightly diagonal from him.

Qin Mu also glanced over curiously, then continued to eat quietly, occasionally having a bit of food and watching the old man being goofy.

Later, Qin Mu received a WeChat message on her phone.

”I’m in Bingcheng tonight, and suddenly Rongcheng feels so warm!”

Qin Mu furrowed her brow slightly, put the phone aside, and continued listening to the grandfather and the grandson talk.

But the messages kept coming in, one after another, forcing her to pick up the phone again, while the grandfather and grandson watched.

They were pictures of Bingcheng, one after another, with the scenery beautiful as a painting.

But, what did it have to do with her?

Qin Mu puzzledly furrowed her brow.

”Who is it?”

Mu Yichen asked unhappily, as her expression didn’t look like something sent by a friend.
