His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1561: Chapter 437: Oscar Best Actress (Part 3)

”He’s my husband, of course I care about him!”

Qin Mu didn’t expect Anna to talk to her, and just reflexively responded.

”A man as outstanding as Mr. Mu, it’s not just his wife who cares about him. Even the rest of us drool over him!”

Anna continued, lighting a cigarette from the pack on the table, and picked up the metal cigarette case: ”Mrs. Mu, would you like one?”

”Thanks! I’ve already quit!”

Qin Mu instinctively wanted to accept, as if not accepting the cigarette would show weakness, but then she quickly declined!

”Looks like Mr. Mu has quite a strict hold on Mrs. Mu! Unlike myself, who loves smoking!”

Anna laughed, not upset, and put the cigarette case back.

Qin Mu smelled the smoke. To be honest, even though it was a bit choking, it wasn’t bad.

”Mrs. Mu, you are really young, and your skin is better than most girls!”

Anna caressed her chin with the hand holding the cigarette, looking at Qin Mu with a gaze full of desire.

Listening to Anna, Qin Mu felt something was off, but couldn’t pinpoint what it was.

”Do you mind if I take a look at your hand, Mrs. Mu?”

The four men nearby all turned to look at Anna, knowing she was famously difficult to deal with. The hotel had even dispatched the most skilled male staff member from PR to handle her. But now it seemed...

Maybe just sending a prettier woman to chat casually with her would have sufficed?

Wang Jian and Johnson sat quietly on the side, but the hotel staff felt a bit uneasy, sensing something was odd.

Qin Mu didn’t even know how her hand ended up in Anna’s.

But she noticed the slight yellowish tint on Anna’s fingertips, probably from years of smoking. Her fingers were also not as soft as an average woman’s, somewhat rough.

Qin Mu had heard Anna was once a national athlete, although she had been in the entertainment industry for many years. Was she still maintaining an athletic lifestyle?

Mu Yichen returned from outside and immediately noticed someone holding his wife’s hand, his brows furrowing.

”Sorry! Our child is sick, we have to leave early! Old Zhang, please take good care of Miss Anna and her companions for me!”

Mu Yichen stepped forward and directly took Qin Mu’s arm from Anna’s grasp.

When Anna’s hand lost that soft touch, her eyes slightly drooped, but she stood up with a smile: ”Still, I’m happy to meet Mrs. Mu! Maybe we can have a meal together sometime?”

Qin Mu...

”She probably won’t have time!”

Mu Yichen slightly furrowed his brows. Although his lips seemed to have a hint of a smile, his words left no room for questioning.

After leaving the private room, Qin Mu couldn’t help but mutter: ”Why do I feel like Anna fancies me?”

”This woman swings both ways, so you better be careful.”

”Ah?”

Mu Yichen’s warning was overly serious, leaving Qin Mu even more baffled.

”In the future, if she invites you out, remember not to leave your territory.”

Mu Yichen advised Qin Mu in the elevator.

Qin Mu reflexively nodded, then looked up at Mu Yichen, suddenly smiling: ”Hey! To be honest, do you think she really likes me? Actually, I’m more worried that she might like you! She’s a national athlete, what if she sets her sights on you? Could you resist her?”

”So you wore this outfit today because you were worried I’d be seduced?”

Mu Yichen’s deep black eyes looked at her steadily, his voice light, but Qin Mu suddenly felt guilty, avoiding his gaze by looking at the elevator wall.

The elevator was still descending, and Qin Mu pursed her lips, about to burst into laughter.

Mu Yichen chuckled softly, reaching over to hold her like a buddy, pulling her into his arms, followed by a light kiss on her forehead.

The series of actions were seamlessly executed!

Qin Mu was accustomed to Mu Yichen’s way of not treating her like a lady. When he held and hugged her like that, it often made her bones ache, but habit is a scary thing.

When they were in Paris, if they didn’t meet for a while, and he didn’t treat her like that when they reunited, she would feel estranged from him.

Hmm! Kind of masochistic!

But that silly old self!

Seems like it was so far removed from her current self!

Qin Mu couldn’t help but drift into that distant memory, feeling as if it wasn’t her past, but rather the past of another separate person!
